The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also includes a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.
The maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.
If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.
We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 45 POUNDS on the tour.

Please read all of this carefully. We cannot accomodate kids under five years of age or 40 pounds, if you do not read this and you arrive with kids that don't meet these requirements, we will be forced to tell you that they can not come and as parents ourselves, this breaks our hearts. Please read all instructions.
We are not responsible if you get stuck in traffic. Being stuck in traffic does not warrant a refund. Traffic is common. Please allow time to arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of your tour.
No children under 40 pounds can come on the tour whatsoever.
Adult pricing applies to all travelers 13 years of age and older.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bring drinks, just no alcoholic beverages or glass containers.
Dogs have been asked to not be brought on tour by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Registered Service Animals only.
Any changes or amendments to bookings, including number of persons, date, time, or discounts must be made through Viator. Corolla outback adventures cannot amend reservations without a request from traveler made to Viator.

5.00Great tour guide, very informative and full of knowledge on the horses and area. It was a delight to see the horses in their own environment. An added bonus when we saw six of them on the beach, our guide noted this was unusual this time of year.

5.00More than just seeing the horses....we found this educational, as well. Craig took the time to make sure we were warm and comfortable. You could tell he believes in preserving the environment for the horses and cares about each of them. All said it was the highlight of their week!

5.00I have known for many many years about the Wild Horses but I had never taken the opportunity to see them up close and personal (as the saying goes). I trusted Viator excursions based on previous experiences with the company on other vacation trips. This was a wonderful excursion and our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Definitely you will need reservations. We had to drive at least an hour to get to the site so I selected the 11:30 departure. The venue was considerate enough to send an email warning about possible traffic issues and suggesting that we leave early. We arrived early enough to stop by the Currituck Lighthouse before our tour started (it is just down the road). What I did wrong was forgetting to bring gloves! If you are touring in late November make sure you bring gloves. Be aware that you are in an open air 4 wheel drive vehicle for two hours. Dress for the weather. The folks were considerate enough to provide lap blankets so we were not miserable just cold.

5.00Today Carla took us on a wonderful adventure to see the wild horses of Corolla. She was an excellent tour guide- engaging, helpful, and knowledgeable. We saw over 35 horses today. The tour was one of the best experiences of my life. Highly recommend it and highly recommend Carla.
