The Bender family continues a 50 year tradition of traveling in open air style safari vehicles north of Corolla along the ocean and sand dunes on a 2 hour, small group, excursion sharing history and ecology along the way. We stop for several photo opportunities and points of interests along the way, as well including private access to the Wild Horse Conservation Area. This tour also includes a professional and knowledgeable horse guide to educate you on what you are seeing. Choose from one of 3 departure times when you book.
The maximum will be TWELVE (12) people.
If you have more than 12 people please call us directly for accommodations.
We will NOT be able to allow any children UNDER 45 POUNDS on the tour.

We cannot accomodate kids under five years of age or 40 pounds, if you do not read this and you arrive with kids that don't meet these requirements, we will be forced to tell you that they can not come and as parents ourselves, this breaks our hearts. Please read all instructions.
We are not responsible if you get stuck in traffic. Being stuck in traffic does not warrant a refund. Traffic is common. Please allow time to arrive 30 minutes prior to the time of your tour.
No children under 40 pounds can come on the tour whatsoever.
Adult pricing applies to all travelers 13 years of age and older.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bring drinks, just no alcoholic beverages or glass containers.
Dogs have been asked to not be brought on tour by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Registered Service Animals only.
Any changes or amendments to bookings, including number of persons, date, time, or discounts must be made through Viator. Corolla outback adventures cannot amend reservations without a request from traveler made to Viator.

Great experience- a little rough on back and neck

5.00This was a fantastic experience! They covered historic buildings and the history and genetics of the wild horses! We saw tons and the guide knew all their names and family groups. I studied genetics so it was fascinating hearing about how these horses were intentionally bred. Amazing and unforgettable experience! The only downside was the ride was very rough. We are able bodied but we had back and neck pain. My parents asked if they should go and I advised a different vehicle as I think it would have been too much. But Al around great way to see that part of the island and learn the history!

5.00It was cold but our guide had blankets for us, which other tour companies did not have. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area, local wildlife and the horses. He also had a good sense of humor. On the last tour of 2025 we were able to see many horses, deer and dolphins. It was a great trip! If you’re going on the tour in December bring winter gear!
Loved seeing the horses, my favorite part. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable.

5.00Our second time taking this tour with this company, 10 years apart, and it was just as great as we remembered. The trucks are comfortable and the guides are very knowledgeable and nice. We saw a lot of horses this time and even had one jump the fence and come up close and personal. We will definitely be back!

3.00Our tour guide was like a speed racer! Was hard to look for horses when she was going so fast. When we did see horses she didn’t even see them and they were right in front of us!

5.00Great tour guide, very informative and full of knowledge on the horses and area. It was a delight to see the horses in their own environment. An added bonus when we saw six of them on the beach, our guide noted this was unusual this time of year.
