5.00My wife and I had the pleasure of attending the Old Port ghost tour led by Matt Giles. He was a wonderful guide, incredibly informative, and elevated the event with his theatrical retellings of the history and hauntings of Portland. Would recommend to anyone

1.00Guide attempted to entertain. However, tour involved passing around a binder of info multiple times. Included info not at all related to ghosts. Spent a good bit of time on a maine psychic that failed on Patty Hurst case.....left tour after that segment.

3.00Our guide Grace was awesome! She was professional, engaging, and definitely knew the stories and told them well. Unfortunately, the tour included AI images shown to us. Not only are AI generated images ethically questionable due to environmental concerns (the amount of water and energy that is wasted to make those picture is enormous), AI images also steal content from real artists in order to make its “art.” The images took some of the fun out of the trip. We didnt need the silly pictures of what ghosts “could” look like. The fun of ghost tours is to hear spooky stories, personal accounts of ghosts, and learn some darker history about the city you’re in. The AI images took away so much from that experience.
