Bolafjall Mountain is around 636 meters high, and the most popular attraction is the viewing platform on top of Bolafjall Mountain.
The place offers a beautiful view over Ísafjarðadjúp, Jökulfirðir and some people say all the way to Greenland. The sunset is also amazing there.
To get there you must drive up the road from Bolungarvík, the way to the radar station on the top. The station was built buy the Americans but is now controlled by the Icelandic coast guard.
This road is open during summer from the middle of June until the middle of September.
We have a special highlands bus for this tour, the road is very steep, and it is gravel road.

4.00Tour was OK and straightforward. It was only two hours so we were taken directly to the viewing platform to spend a few minutes there and to enjoy the view. Not much to do...just enjoying the video and take several good photos. Another quick stop to see an old fishing village was included. Tour guide was good and provided good remarks and information.

5.00Beautiful views around the community despite poor weather conditions at the platform. Our guide, a native Icelander, went out of his way to make the trip memorable and was very informative throughout the tour. He answered our questions and communicated clearly. I would definitely recommend this tour as part of your experience in Iceland.
