Your leader will meet you at your hotel lobby(City Center hotel), we will go to a great local tea house to have some coffee or tea, and learn the commonly used Tourism Chinese. It doesn't matter that you can't speak Chinese at all. After this class, everyone will have the confidence to speak Chinese.
First of all, we practice introducing ourselves in Chinese. Then we will learn some Chinese greetings. Then we practice more about how to order food or how to take a taxi and more. After about 1 hour to 1.5 hours of class, we will go out and have a small walk!
You’ll be taken into an authentic local spice market to explore it with fun Chinese challenges to complete and learn different Sichuan spices and ingredients that will be used in the locals cooking.
At last, we will go to a great local dinner restaurant, you will have a real test here to order the food with all the Chinese you learned (You don't need to pay, it is included)

5.00We had an amazing time learning about Sichuan culture and cuisine plus Chengdu local life with Jerry. Upon meeting he took us to the neighbor market and walked us from stall to stall, explaining the uses/significance of seemingly every product around. Very comfortable experience. He clearly enjoys showing and explaining everything and nothing felt rushed while we took in the market. Then for the cooking class, we prepared three essentiap Sichuan dishes alongside Jerry and some school chefs who all walked us through the process. Everything was explained thoroughly and appropriately before starting and it came out great in the end. We came out satisfied with the experience and proud of the level of cooking we had produced! Perfect for people wanting to learn more about Sichuan food and the region as a whole. We knew a little about the cuisine prior to the class but learned a ton of new things in the process. We also felt that this is suitable for total newcomers too.

5.00Litchichi was my guide and words cannot describe how amazing my experience was! Between the tours of the local market, museum, teahouse at Peoples Park, and a lunch together, he was an amazing guide! I honestly can't wait to return to Chengdu. I was a solo traveler and it just turned out to be a 1 on 1 tour, which made things so much more intimate. Give this man a raise and a promotion, for this was one of the best experiences I've had after years of travel. China always scares me a tad, due to the language and firewall issues, but he made me feel right at home! Book this tour and request Litchichi as your guide, you won't be disappointed!
