You will observe this oldest Riga's luteran church from outside. You will know the story about medieval tradition related to the church golden roosters. You will visit the free part of the church, you will know the symbolical meaning of the rooster from the Christianic point of view and not only. You will know how the number of the beast ( 666) affected the fate of the church.

Riga Town Hall Square

Town Hall square (Ratslaukums) is the most beautiful area of old Riga and the oldest cultural-representative center. Originally the site of the modern town hall square, which can be seen at the present time was a city market. The Bazaar flocked merchants from all around, bringing goods to trade. Based on the direct destination square, for many years the area was called the Market. It was not only the trade point, but also the administrative core of the city. You will observe from here the left bank of Daugava river, building of Latvian National library, museum of occupation of Latvia, you will know the story of Key to Riga and will see the place where the tradition to decorate Christmas tree had started in 16th century. We will see the memory place dedicated to the first in the world decorated christmas tree.

We had a short time in Riga. We felt that Lina's tour gave us the biggest bang for our buck. It was thorough with lots of historical information. After the tour, we went back to a couple of museums that she had pointed out. Lina recommended a local restaurant for lunch. Although we only had 24 hours in Riga, with Lina's private tour we made the most of it.

This was an amazing tour for our family of adults and children alike. Lina was an excellent tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about Riga history and shared with us great history and numerous legends of this historical city supported by the book of pictures depicting the sites at different moments of history, e.q. the devastating consequences of WWII. She also recommended many tips for other sites beyond the itinerary,as well as restaurants to visit. She was also very warm and friendly and generous with her time on the tour. We definitely recommend her tour.

Lina was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour. The only comment I have is the info on the tour notes admission to churches etc are included but actually you only do the free parts not go into the churches etc. she did take us to places we wouldn’t have found on our own!

Lina provided an excellent , detailed tour to Old Town Riga. She shared great history and numerous legends of this fascinating, historical city. She also provided many tips for other sites, museums and restaurants to visit. Highly recommended tour.

Lina was an excellent tour guide! She was very knowledgeable about Riga history and shared with us visual support through a folder of artifacts. Lina answered all of our questions and was generous with her time to explain the history. Her content was interesting. I don’t think any other guide would have been so engaging. She showed us things one won’t find in a tour book. She was also very warm and friendly. We definitely recommend her tour. It’s worth every minute!

This was just an amazing journey through and even under the city. We are on a cruise and no one we talked with had an adventure like we did. Our guide knew the history of the city and had interesting facts all about the history of the area. She had a book she made of pictures of when like a church had burned and what it looked like on fire, after the fire, and we could see the repairs. One of the most amazing parts was she took us in a building and we went under the streets in what would have been an early part on the town. We came out in a whole different location. I almost wish we had a longer tour because my wife and I didn’t want it to end. Viator really came through and gave us lifelong memories of our stop in Riga.

It was a great private walking tour. Lina my guide was very knowledgeable and even Ickes me up from my hotel lobby. She was flexible with the start time of our walking tour and well organized. I got to see so much more and learned about the hidden little places and she gave great recommendations for places to visit while in Riga. Thanks again for a great walking tour. Just book her!

We had a great walk with Lina around old town where she explained loads of details about the buildings and the original inhabitants of the area. All of which you wouldn’t find out if you were just wandering around by yourself. Excellent afternoon! Lots of recommendations too about other things to do.
