A €200 deposit is required, which will be refunded at the end of the rental if there is no damage to the car.

All customers with a reservation must check in 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
Maximum 2 people per vehicle.
Maximum weight per car 200kg (440lbs).
The minimum age to drive is 18 years old. Children from 7 to 12 years old or at least 1.20 m (3.93 feet) can travel in a booster seat (please let us know in advance if you need one). All minors must be accompanied by an adult, and a Liability Waiver must be signed for children up to 13 years old.
You need to bring a valid driver's license and an ID or passport. Copies of documents will not be accepted.
What happens if the car runs out of battery during my rental? You will need to call the phone number written on the car, and we will provide all the necessary support to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
All customers with reservations must check in 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
In case of bad weather conditions, if the company considers that there are no safe conditions to carry out the activity, it can be rescheduled for the same day, subject to availability.
We accept payments by debit or credit card, cash, and bank transfer (for groups only).
You can park the Spinach in spots designated for cars and motorcycles. Just be aware that some of these parking spots are paid.
The car's documentation is in the trunk, and it has liability insurance, just like in a typical car accident. Contact the support number to expedite the process.

5.00Discovered the Spinach Cars just by chance when walking into Santa Maria from our hotel. Immediately attracted to the fun little vehicles and delighted to find the range of options for guided tours and/or self led tours. We opted for 4 hour / 60km range option and got great indiction from the office team before we set off, explaining how the electric cars worked (very easy, like a beefed-up mobility scooter, lol) and the iPad guidance routes to get to the key island locations. Set off with smiles on our faces and hit the open road. Then the wind hit!!! Because they're open topped with a cloth roof covering, and no side doors, the wind both from driving and general weather was really really noticeable. Made it hard, verging on impossible at times, to hear the guidance and tourist commentary from the iPad system. Fortunately the route mapping was visible to guide and the roads are pretty obvious to follow, but just be prepared for this. We managed to cover a huge amount of the island on our tour and really felt like we got an experience like no other. Be VERY VERY CAREFUL on the electric range though. Heading back to Santa Maria, the car went into what felt like a limp-mode, going very slowly. Really felt we weren't going to make it back at a couple of points. All was well eventually and crawled back to the Spinach office and made a fun part of the story afterwards, but didn't feel the same in the middle of nowhere. Overall, I'd fully recommend. Great value compared to hotel excursions and a much more unique experience.

5.00A surprising discovery of Santa Maria and its surroundings, in 02h00 we discovered beautiful places, salt pans, the beach of Kites surfers, the handling of the cart is quite simple, the GPS course is well done and the comments are interesting. I recommend for those who want to discover the city and its surroundings

1.00Very difficult to drive overall - difficult to get used to the accelerator being on a handlebar with the brake as a pedal. Extremely difficult to manoeuvre, even just turning round corners. Also small - I’m 5 ft 10 and it felt very cramped. Felt unsafe driving it and returned it early
Great experience but will not repeat.

4.00Easy to book which was great. Tablet with maps not that clear to follow through all the points. Suspension was very bad for 85kg man was a struggle could feel everything. Very bumpy roads or areas where you follow the route with tablet maps. Very hard to turn as steering wheel it’s like bike stearing. A part of that we enjoy it as it was just two hours.

5.00We were surprised by the presence of Spinach Tours in Cape Verde and we couldn’t have chosen a better way to visit Sal. Without a doubt, the most fun way to visit the island! There are different tours adapted to the time and preference of each, accompanied by music and presentation of the history of each place. The staff is very friendly and available, especially the Harley who welcomed us and presented the program. Anxious to repeat at other destinations!

5.00We loved the Tour immensely, we booked for self-drive and yet the Enterprise provided us with a digital guide that through all the places we passed the very interactive and fun guide told us about Cape Verde in particular this wonderful island. The staff was very receptive and friendly. Ms. Maria, Harlley and Antonio were very helpful. I will come back and I will want this experience denovo.
