Meet your guide at your accommodation. From there, board a tour vehicle and head north through the countryside, move back in time as you travel. Stop first at Broby Viking graveyard, to learn about a real Viking woman named Estrid who was buried here. Cross the 495-foot (150-meter) Jarlabanke's bridge, built by a powerful Viking leader centuries ago. Listen to a message written on a rune stone that flanks the bridge and hear stories from real Viking persons that lived here 1000 years ago. At the Viking parliament, imagine the powerful leaders making important decisions on that very spot and learn about Viking society and culture. Continue to Vallentuna church to see a famous collection of Jarlabanke’s runestones. At the end of your tour, return to Stockholm and be dropped off at your accommodation.

Walk along the viking causeway, hear the runestones and about viking lords and living.

Tor was our tour guide and he did a fabulous job. My husband & I were with 2 other couples so we had lots of opportunity to chat and ask questions. Tor made history come alive with his stories of a family from the past. It was 3 hours well spent & I highly recommend him.

A fun and interesting look at Viking life. Seeing and touching a part of 1000 year old history is not something you do every day! Jonathon was very knowlegable and even read the old norse language on the stones. Pretty cool.

What a great little Viking history lesson! It was a small group and our guide was Jacob. He was very knowledgeable. We saw some interesting archaeology. It was a nice trip outside of the city.

Jonathan was a wonderful guide. The tour was very informative. We chose this half day tour because a full day seemed like it would be overkill and am certain we made the right choice.

Fantastic tour - Olof was a great and knowledgeable guide… It was nice to get outside the city to see the rune stones and the old church was another great stop

The 3-4 hour tour took us to four sites, where Carl gave us a great explanation to the significance and historic meaning behind runestones and Norse way of life. Christian, who helped get us around, was able to talk about downtown Stockholm, embassy row, the university system. Both were excellent at engagement with the tour, on both an individual and group level. Will return for the longer tour!

Olaf met us at our cruise ship, handled our bags, took us on a Viking History Tour 30 minutes outside Stockholm, then dropped us at our hotel. The tour was informative and interesting. Olaf is knowledgeable about the history of the area. We saw rune stones, visited a small church with a rich history in Taby, and hiked a short distance to Lake Vallentuna. This tour was off the beaten path, places we would never have found on our own. We highly recommend Sweden History Tours.

Interesting and informative tour. Great information and cool to see the runes and a very old church. Max of 6 people makes this a great size to ask questions of the guide while saving money versus a private tour. Very convenient pickup from the cruise port and drop off at our hotel after the tour- which was a great convenience,

Excellent and informative trip. We definitely couldn’t have done this on our own, and we saw things other than the “typical” tourist spots in Stockholm. Well done
