  The safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris was a great experience. Everything - from the meeting at the airport before the safari, to the transfer to the hotel after, was a good team effort. I really liked the place to stay - Lilac lodge! Such peace and quiet with a view of the mountains. The tent itself - great, with all the amenities. The safari jeep for two people - luxury! We saw many different animals, lions and elephants - so incredibly close that it even became a little scary. The guides - Danford and Owe made this day a great adventure for us.

  Our trip to Mikumi National Park was a 5⭐ experience from start to finish. The organisation was absolutely flawless. Everything ran smoothly, and we felt completely taken care of the entire time. From transfers to game drives, it was all seamless and stress-free. Our accommodation at Camp Lilac was brilliant. We weren’t expecting air conditioning, so that was such an amazing touch and made our stay even more comfortable. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and we loved having breakfast each morning on our wooden decking. It was such a peaceful way to start the day surrounded by nature. A special mention has to go to our guide, Simba. He truly made the experience unforgettable. His knowledge of the animals and the park was incredible, we could tell he’s genuinely passionate about wildlife. What we appreciated most was his ethical approach to safari. He was always respectful of the animals, never disturbing them and ensuring we observed them responsibly. It felt like a truly authentic and considerate wildlife experience.   We did the 3 day tour with kihindo tours. Our trip well organized tour started from the moment we were picked up from our hotel. The driver who had arranged Kihindo tours took us to the Ferry. The driver was very involved and made sure we got on board well. Upon arrival with the Ferry was again a driver waiting for us, who took us by car to our overnight camp Bastian Mikumi. Again everything is well arranged. After we put our stuff in a nice apartment we were later picked up to go to the Masai, afterwards delicious food and enjoyed the evening. Day later left at 630 hours for a fantastic safari. This was accompanied by 2 friendly and with great expertise called Standford and Owenlandscape of Mikumi park. The return trip to Zanzibar is also super arranged. We are very grateful to Pilly the organizer of our trip, Standford and Owen and of course the drivers for this unforgettable trip.   It was one of my favorite things to do in Tanzania, with great food at camp, and on the safari we saw a lot of animals. Our driver Nuhu is the best , he was great and informative and very helpful

  We booked a 3-day safari with ferry and train to Mikumi from Zanzibar with Kihindo Tours, October 10-12, 2025. It was an unforgettable experience, everything was well organized - good communication (Winnie), guidance (Messy), and the guide (Jackson). Camp Lilac was fantastic, small in size. Luxury tent surrounded by nothing but nature, just like it must be in Africa. We had wonderful days with wonderful people around us (Denise, Maasai, etc.). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you also enjoy peace and quiet; we give it a 10 (no mass tourism in a large camp). A great game drive in Mikumi, saw a lot. TOP! Philip and Coby

  The 2 -day safari was fantastic. Seen so much nature and lots of wild animals. It was all super well arranged, neatly picked up at the agreed time at our hotel in Dar El Salaam. Then one of the people of Kihindo Tour and Safari neatly dropped off at the train to Morogoro, starting with our 2 -day safari. Arriving in Morogoro we were picked up by Isaya, our guide for the upcoming 2 days and also owner of Kihindo Tour and Safari. From Morogoro we were immediately driven to Mikumbi National Park, to start with our Safari Tour. Mikumbi National Park is a very beautiful piece of unspoilt nature, full of all kinds of wild animals. We came across everything on our first day, from monkeys to of course one of the most beautiful animals of the Safari, the Lion. In the afternoon enjoyed a delicious lunch and being able to eat in the evening in Kamp Bastiaan. Early the next morning on the road to see even more beautiful things such as the beautiful sunrise. Until lunch had a fantastic safari again. In which all kinds of wild animals have seen again, antelopes, wild beasts, giraffes, elephants, crocodiles and of course the lions again. After lunch being able to relax in Camp Bastiaan and then to the Masai to get a tour of their village there. And what was also very pleasant, we had not yet arranged the way back to Zanzibar from the train station. Isaya has all arranged this neatly for us, tickets for the ferry and a taxi to bring us back to our accommodations. All in all, this Safari is highly recommended.

  I recently went on a fantastic safari in Tanzania with Kihindo Tours and Safaris, and I was really impressed with how smoothly everything was organised. Winnie handled all the logistics - from transport to meals and accommodation - making the whole trip stress-free from start to finish. Our journey started with a drive from our hotel in Dar es Salaam to the train station, followed by a 2-hour train ride to Morogoro, where we were met by KP, our friendly driver. He then drove us 2 hours to Mikumi National Park, while our luggage was taken ahead to the hotel so we could begin our safari straight away. Our guide Danford was excellent; knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and very fluent in English. On Day 1, we had a full-day safari (around 9:30 AM to 6 PM) in an open jeep, with lunch provided inside the park. We were lucky to see a wide range of animals including zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, elephants, warthogs, buffalo, antelope, a snake and a lizard. The hotel we stayed at was about 15 minutes from the park and provided both breakfast and dinner. Everything was comfortable and well taken care of. On Day 2, we had another early start (7 AM to 4 PM) for more safari time. Since we had already seen so many animals on the first day, Danford made a special effort to find lions for us - and he did! We also visited a local Maasai tribe, which was a great cultural experience. Day 3 was the journey back to Dar es Salaam, but even then, we were treated to a special moment — a family of lions on the road, with a lioness walking right next to our vehicle. A real highlight to end the trip. Both KP and Danford were fantastic guides; professional, friendly, and full of insight. The whole experience was well-organised, relaxed, and enjoyable. If you’re planning a safari in Tanzania, I’d definitely recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris.

  Great experience! We had a great time with our guide Stéphane. Very welcoming and always good explanations. The camp is top, quiet and warm. A private visit, we could see almost all the animals we hoped to see, I recommend!
