Unlike standard drives, this tour combines trekking, wildlife viewing, and cultural encounters, giving travelers a full immersion into Ethiopia’s natural beauty.
You’ll journey from the Afro-alpine plateau of Sanetti, home to the endangered Ethiopian wolf, to the lush Harenna Forest, one of the last remaining cloud forests in the country.

Bale Mountains National Park
Fly from Addis Ababa to Robe. Upon arrival, drive to Dinsho Park, the headquarters of Bale Mountains National Park. Spend the day exploring the area on a game drive and guided nature walk. You’ll have the chance to see mountain nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck, bush duikers, reedbucks, warthogs, and many species of endemic birds such as the Abyssinian catbird and Blue-winged goose. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by juniper forests and highland meadows.
Bale Mountains National Park
After breakfast, drive to the Sanetti Plateau, rising above 4,000 meters — one of Africa’s highest road-accessible plateaus. This area is famous for sightings of the Ethiopian wolf, the world’s rarest canid, as well as giant mole rats, klipspringers, bush hares, and high-altitude birds of prey like lammergeiers and Augur buzzards. Enjoy a scenic game drive across the plateau and, weather permitting, a short hike to Tulu Dimtu (4,377 m), Ethiopia’s second-highest peak.
Bale Mountains National Park
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a short morning hike in the Harenna Forest, home to colobus monkeys, giant forest hogs, baboons, and tropical bird species such as turacos and hornbills. Visit traditional coffee farms and bamboo groves before returning to Robe Airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.
