While our main goal is to have fun on the trail and enjoy stunning views along the way, our knowledgeable guides will also present the history of the place. Since many sections of our trek overlap with the 500-km-long Walk of Peace, we'll get to know about WWI in the Slovenian Alps, about how and where the soldiers fought and lived, and see exhibited remains along the way.
Our groups are small (on average 4-6 participants), which means we can be very flexible. We make many stops if needed, adjust the pace of the group, and adjust the itinerary according to the group's wishes.

Our journey begins above Lake Bohinj going towards Komna, a scenic mountain hut with beautiful views of Lake Bohinj and a whole amphitheatre of peaks around it. On this 3-day trek we'll be exploring high Alpine scenery with enchanting rolling hills and great peaks; an open sunny trail with scenic vistas that passes the mountains above Lake Bohinj, goes past the largest alpine lake in Slovenia, Lake Krn, and to the peak of Mt. Krn, 2,244 m, the highest mountain of the Krn Mountains in the southwestern Julian Alps.

After lunch we continue to Lake Krn along a beautiful easy trail. Ascent 1,167 m.

We head towards Mt. Krn, 2,244 m, the highest mountain of the Krn Mountains in the SW Julian Alps with stunning views of all Julian Alps. We descend to the Soča Valley. Ascent 880 m, descent 1300 m.

The tour ends in the beautiful Soča Valley where we explore the emerald green Soča River, considered one of the most beautiful rivers in Europe, its gorges and countless waterfalls. We will hike 8 - 10 km.

5.00I had an amazing experience with Exploring Slovenia. From the start Neja was very accommodating in helping me plan my adventure. She was responsive to my questions, flexible in scheduling and provided all the details I needed for a great trip. I appreciated that she had a thoughtfully mapped route to ensure that I saw the best sights and the diverse landscape over the three days. Her experience ensured we were in the shade during the hottest parts of the day, exerted the most energy when our legs were fresh, took breaks when we needed and visited the best huts along the way. She also was kind enough to take and share some incredible photos to help make memories. Hiking with Neja was like hiking with a friend - who also has great knowledge of the area and is truly a skilled mountaineer and guide. I can’t recommend Exploring Slovenia enough - it was the best way to get out into the mountains and enjoy everything the region has to offer.

1.00Guide arrived 3 hours late at start of trek. That changed the whole outcome. The worst hiking experience I had in all my experiences with regard to professionalism , planning, attitude, caring and arrogant ,rude behavior. I will say this, thanks to our cutting 3 day trek to 1 by our choice due to terrible experience , we got to see other most beautiful things in Slovenia with other tour agencies!

5.00Thank you so much to Exploring Slovenia for organising our private 3 day hiking experience from Bohinj to Socha valley. It was beyond anything we could ever imagine and was a great and exciting challenge for our group of 3. The route was absolutely stunning and our guide Petra - helpful and kind. We cannot recommend these girls enough! We took some amazing photos, hung out at most beautiful alpine lakes and even drank champagne cooled in Soca river :) the whole experience was majestic ✨ thank you!
I definetely recommend this trip.

5.00Great experience. Very friendly guide. Everything was well organised. The nature was breathtaking. To make such a trip you need a certain level of fitness although the guide may individually adopt the route.
