Steam rising from cracks in the road, bubbling and hissing water in pools along the lakes edge and the strong smell of sulphur.

It was a great experience! Waitamo cave and the geothermal region of Rotorua are very unique and impressive. Hobbiton is a very cool experience, not only for huge fans of the Lord of the Rings. Everything was perfectly organized, every pickup and drop off worked out smoothly as planed. The cultural activity was also interesting, although I probably would not have done it if it had not been included in the package. However, sometimes the guided tours felt rushed because the planned times had to be met. Buffet style lunch was ok but also rushed and for me a Sandwich would have been sufficient. It's probably possible to save money on that as well as on high end cultural experience and Personal Transport. Nevertheless, great tour and great tour for people travelling alone because you can save lots of time to figure things out and meet many interesting people along the way.

Wonderful tour - loved Hobbiton and all the sites in Rotorua. Exceptionally well done tour; we received all of the information we needed to be sure we were where we needed to be and what we were going to see each day. They added a day to Taupo for us and made sure the transportation and timing all worked out for us. Absolutely loved the tour, and the guides were knowledgable and very friendly.
