Day 1 Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley Approx. 6-hour journey Your journey to the Erg Chebbi desert begins in the morning from Marrakech. We’ll cross the High Atlas Mountains, passing through several kasbahs and Berber villages nestled in the Atlas range. Along the way, we'll make stops for photos, to enjoy the scenery, stretch your legs, and have a cup of coffee. One of the key stops is at the Tizi N’Tichka pass, where you'll admire the panoramic views it offers. We’ll then continue on to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the most important stop on the first day of the desert excursion from Marrakech.

Ait Ben Haddou

Ait Ben Haddou is the most famous ksar (fortified village) in Morocco and arguably one of the country’s most impressive and fascinating landmarks, earning it recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll enjoy a relaxed visit to this photogenic village, which has served as a filming location for major Hollywood productions such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Game of Thrones. After having lunch at one of the local cafés, we’ll continue the journey toward the Dades Valley, passing through Ouarzazate, the Skoura oasis, and Klaa Mgouna—the capital of the Valley of Roses, known for its traditional rose water distillation workshops. At the end of the day, we’ll arrive in the Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.

The landscapes were spectacular, from the Atlas Mountains to the adobe villages. The camel ride made me feel part of an antique caravan and the sunset over the dunes was magical. Spending the night in the jaima, under a starry sky, an exquisite dinner and waking up with dawn in the desert was unforgettable. Everything became even more special thanks to the guide, who spoke perfect Spanish and was always attentive, was friendly and concerned, Happy of the lived experience, recommended.

Then what to say, everything perfect, driver very friendly, kind, especially helpful and attentive to any of our needs. We were a bit of a mixed age group but they managed to involve everyone, we were ecstatic, to recommend.

We loved meeting Morocco accompanied by Mohamed is a fantastic guide, good driver and very friendly at all times. It has been an unforgettable trip, where we have been able to learn more about the Berber culture and about its villages, we have tried many typical foods and also Mohamed always advised us to go to the best places to buy and taste spices, Argan... The experience in the Sahara desert was incredible along with more of Moha’s companions, including Mustafa. We settled in very good Rihad with exquisite breakfast and dinner and very good service. We will repeat without a doubt!!
