Day 1: Over the mountains and into the desert

Middle Atlas Mountains
Start your day bright and early and travel south toward Merzouga. Along the way, you will climb up and over the Col du Zad pass (7,146 feet or 2,178 m) through the picturesque small town of Ifrane and the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Enjoy sightings of the local Barbary macaque monkeys before stopping for lunch in Midelt (the 'apple city'), relishing the nearby Moulouya River. Continue over the Tizi n'Talremt pass and into the Ziz Valley, known for its hidden oases and palm tree clusters. Along the road, you will see many fortified houses known as ksars—built to protect precious wares, including gold, salt, and spices.
Erg Chebbi
Continue on to Erfoud, known for its date festival and fossil mining. Here you can visit a local collective to learn more about the process and meet some local artisans. Continue to Erg Chebbi, an extensive sea of sand dunes covering an area of 13.5 square miles (35 square km). Never stationary, the massive dunes shift and travel depending on the changing wind! Upon reaching your luxury camp, you will experience an amazing camel ride to enjoy the spectacular sunset along the way and explore the magical golden Dunes of Erg Chebbi. Return to your camp and enjoy some fantastic local cuisine while you sit around an open fire, enjoying live music and dancing under the stars. Your well-furnished luxury private Nomadic Style tent ( Not equipped with AC) will welcome you to spend a memorable overnight in the heart of the Sahara Desert.

Merzouga Desert
Rise early and climb a nearby sand dune to catch the sunrise before testing your skills on sandboarding. After Breakfast, you head through the Black Desert to Khamlia to experience a traditional Saharan village and Gnaoua Music Vibes—its people are originally from Mali.
Discover Todra Gorge with Locals - Tourist Information & Experience Center
Continue west to pass through a dramatic gate into Rissani. A market town, Rissani holds a livestock auction and is home to a "donkey parking lot", a site worth experiencing! Make your way to the desert town of Tinerhir before reaching the 984 feet (300 m) deep Todra Gorge. You will have time to explore the gorge and relax in the cool water of the shallow Todra River.
Dades Gorges
Travel through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs (an old fortress or fortification). Though many kasbahs are now in disrepair, local families still live in some of them. You may even come across nomads herding their animals. Continue your desert trip through Berber Villages to the Dades valley to explore the strange rocky formations known as the “the Monkey fingers”, the rocks seem designed by nature to look like a maze of different layers. As you approach the valley of the Kasbahs, you'll recognize their orange-shaded profiles in the distant light of the sunset. An enticing dinner while looking at the valley is an essential experience to enjoy the beauty of the panorama to the fullest. You’re going to spend this night in one of the kasbahs, to better experience the authentic feel of the landscape.

After your healthy breakfast overlooking the Valley, head west to Kelâat M'Gouna. Known for its Roses’ Festival, here you can see extensively cultivated farmland bordered with fragrant rose bushes. Continue west to Ouarzazate, a gateway to the Sahara Desert made popular by the film industry. Visit the Taourirt Kasbah built in the 19th century and owned by the el Glaoui family, and then join a studio tour to discover how the nearby desert landscapes have been featured in many famous films. Continue on to Morocco's most famous kasbah and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Aït Benhaddou, dates from the 11th century when it held an important position along the trans-Saharan trade route. Stop and explore the narrow streets and passageways of this traditional mud-brick city. From there, travel the winding road over the High Atlas Mountains.
Tizi n Tichka
Stop near the top of the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (7,415 feet or 2,260 m) to admire the view over the mountain range. Stop at an Argan Oil Cooperative in Taddert to learn how Argan is processed, before making your descent down the High Atlas and into the changing scenery.
Marrakech
Upon arriving in the Red City of Marrakech where your trip ends, settle into your hotel/ Riad and spend the rest of the evening as you like. Orient yourself around Marrakech's main square, Jemaa el-Fna to discover the lively activity: musicians, performers, snake charmers, and bustling stalls. Grab something to eat or choose a nearby café and enjoy the show! Also visit the 12th-century Koutoubia Mosque to its west. At 253 feet (77 m) the minaret is hard to miss. Wander the attached gardens, dotted with fountains, pools, flowers, and palm trees.

5.00My family and I had an absolutely amazing time in Morocco, all thanks to this incredible travel agency. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfectly organized, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the beautiful culture and stunning landscapes of this beautiful country. We where warmly welcomed by Iman, our personal driver who stayed with us through out all 12 days of are trip. He was exceptional throughout the trip, always patient , friendly, and knowledgeable about the best local spots. Through out our experience all the guides were very knowledgeable and friendly, they each provided us with fascinating insights into Moroccan history and traditions. Every detail, from our comfortable accommodations to the delicious local food, was thoughtfully arranged. We truly felt like we were experiencing the best of Morocco, and we couldn't have asked for a more memorable trip. Highly recommend this travel agency for anyone looking to explore Morocco!

5.00My husband and I decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary by going to Morocco. We were in a small group of nine people, and we traveled from Casablanca to Marrakesh, traveling east to the desert. Stayed overnight in the Erg Chebbi in tents. What an experience! Riding camels into the desert as the sunset it was so so awesome. Then we drove north to Fes and finally to Rabat. Every stop along the way was informative, beautiful and nothing about Morocco disappointed us. Our guide did an excellent job and the driver of the van made us feel so safe. Beautiful trip to Morocco

5.00There's little I can add to the superlative reviews of this company. With two friends, I toured most of the main cities in the country, crossed over the High Atlas, through lush valleys, dry waterways as far as the Sahara dunes where we stayed in an amazing desert camp. We travelled in a comfortable car with Sharif and Abdul, two careful, knowledgeable and intuitive drivers. Our day tour guides also were always competent and charming and we learned so much about the culture and history of each place visited. We also stopped (and shopped!) at many fine craft cooperatives of ceramics, tiles, argon oil and, of course, carpets. At the end of each day we entered into an enchanted world. The riads or hotels were so beautiful, filled with all the mosaic tiles, carved ceilings, fountains and pools for which Morocco is famed. If you ever want to have the most unique, exceptional travel experience ever, let Rachid plan your visit to this marvellous country. Allie

5.00Having a private car, driver and guide is a must to truly see the highlights and we were lucky to have this team on all our excursions including Sahara Desert. We were able to tailor our 3 Days Sahara Desert trip and get the most of our Morocco private tour at our own speed. Our driver Hassan, whom we had during the entire time in Morocco is the best driver. He was able to safely get us through traffic jams without issues. He was very polite, always greeted us with a smile and attentive to our needs, ensuring we stayed hydrated and safe exiting the car offering assistance. Our guide Aziz was also very knowledgeable, soft spoken and helped us understand the culture and history of her country. She also helped with special request to see specific sites and with the best places to shop. In addition, she is a very good photographer and knew exactly where to take the best photos. The ones she took of us will be some of our best memories. I truly believe these two people were the best. We really recommend Morocco Culture Travel to enjoy a memorable Sahara Desert tour in Morocco.

5.00We got in touch with Morocco Culture Travel because we wished for a bespoke and special Morocco desert trip. From the planning stage, I realized we were onto a good thing from my first contact with Meryem via email. We had an incredible experience with Morocco Culture Travel on our 3-day trip from Marrakesh to Fes (via Merzouga). Our driver/main guide Hassan was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, and he genuinely cared about us having the best experience in Morocco. The 3-day tour had many good stops along the way which allowed us to see many more places and sites than we were expecting. Morocco Culture Travel is very organized and set us up with many local guides in the various places. All of the local guides were very friendly and answered any questions we had. We stayed at both the basic and luxury camps, and both were fantastic experiences. The camps were very comfortable and well-decorated with good food and activities. (I highly recommend sandboarding if you have a chance!) The camels at the camps were very well cared for and treated well. Overall, I highly recommend this experience! And thank you, Hassan!

5.00The most memorable Morocco private Tour – 3 Days Sahara Desert Trip – From Fez to Marrakech My husband and I have enjoyed this unforgettable private 3 days Sahara Desert tour with this amazing company Morocco Culture Travel. Fatima was super helpful right from the moment we contact them, she was responsive and informative when communicating over WhatsApp. Throughout the tour, the excellent private English-speaking driver, Abdul and the knowledgeable local guides (Hamid & Moha) kept our interests at heart and they took extremely good care of us. The hotels, the luxurious private tent in Erg Chebbi dunes and the authentic spicy Moroccan food were top notch.
