Lake of the Restored Sword (Hoan Kiem Lake)
Pick up at a few hotels in the Old Quarter area around Hoan Kiem Lake and then depart to Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Estimate a 4-hour drive without heavy traffic and a stop halfway.
Before noon, arrive at Don village, the epicenter of Pu Luong and have lunch there. After that, check in your reserved room if available (standard check-in time 14:00). Free to relax and wander around.
13:30. Transfer to Meeting Point and start a 10km trek. Conquer Kho Muong, an isolated village and the largest cave in Pu Luong by off-road trails via streams, mountain. Then, head to scenic Bang village with gorgeous paddy fields. Difficulty level 4/5.

Around 16:30, transfer back hotel for relaxation and have dinner. For those interested, a cooking class is available for you to learn the secrets of Vietnamese cuisine. Savor a private dinner at 7PM, then enjoy free time to relax or pay light games, wrapping up the 1st day.

Wake up in refreshing mountain air in Don village. Breakfast is served from 7:00. Recharge fully and get ready for the tour by 9:00.
Get ready for a 5KM hike, the accent is Don village famed for breathtaking paddy fields. From there, follow peaceful village paths to discover Quan and Uoi - scenic and less-traveled villages tucked away from the crowds.
Next, visit Lan village, a special place where the authentic life of the Thai ethnic minority still be alive. This is the only village that has preserved its traditional weaving craft despite the changes of modern life. You will witness how locals still make their fabrics by hand. Continue the trek with another 3KM into the hidden part of Lan village, where people live humble with nature. Observe their daily activities and immerse yourself in the simplicity of rural life. Then, walk through lush jungle paths to reach Long Village, where you will visit a duck farm raising Co Lung ducks – the Pu Luong’s finest duck. These ducks are bred, hatched, and raised here, known for their exceptional taste and recognized by the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam with a Geographical Indication certificate.
Hieu Waterfall
A car (or bicycle if pre-booked) will take you 6KM along village roads to reach Hieu Village. From here, take a short walk to a local restaurant nestled next to Hieu Waterfall. Enjoy a delightful lunch with the soothing sounds of water and nature all around you. After lunch, take your time to swim and unwind in the largest waterfall of Pu Luong Nature Reserve - an unforgettable moment in crystal-clear waters. Then, continue your walk to explore the upper part of Hieu Village, a more remote area, before gradually following the stream down to the main road. Enjoy scenic views of surrounding mountains and small scattered homes - glimpses of local life along the way.
You can expect a car pickup between 3:30 – 4:00 PM, arriving back at the hotel by 4:30 PM for some self-relaxation. Say goodbye to your guide. Enjoy a herbal foot soak, happy hours. At 7:00 PM, savor a delicious dinner, and then you're free to enjoy the evening at your own pace. This marks the end of an enchanting day in Pu Luong.

Transfer to Meeting point and start a 4.5km trek through suspension bridge, scenic villages along the largest stream. Admire water wheels by the way.
Arrive at Chieu Lau dam and embark on a bamboo rafting experience. Paddle the raft upstream with locals and enjoy the moment. In Pu Luong, activities like eating or singing on bamboo rafts may sound fun at first, but they come with real risks, especially when the water level rises or flows fast after heavy mountain rain. That is why at Puluong Excursions, we keep it simple and safe: Life jackets are required at all times.
Meet the transfer at the main road and return to your hotel for check-out by 11:30 AM. Enjoy lunch.
13:30. Get on bus and go back Hanoi city with a break along the way. Expected time to Hanoi by 18:30 with normal traffic. Drop off at Hanoi Opera House and hotels in the old quarter. Finish the tour at hotel.

5.00Our tour guide Quoq was super nice and accommodating. He took perfect care of us for the three days and showed us a lot away from the hotspots. This gave us the perfect insight into the not-so-tourist Pu Luong. We had a lot of contact with the locals and were even allowed to invest in some things ourselves by hand. We can only recommend the tour and would book it again at any time.

5.00We booked very spontaneously in a small tour agency in Hanoi this tour from Pu Luong excursions and it was one of our best tours on our 3 weeks stay in Vietnam. The hotel was fantastic, the staff there was so accommodating, friendly and hospitabel. The food very delicious and always more than we could eat. All the tours were perfectly organized. The tour guides very well trained and have spoken a good English as well. You really can call it excursions because we did actively so much different things in the Pu Luong Naturreserve. We got an enormous insight not only in the life of the Black Thai people but also in the stunning nature. We highly recommend this tour and would book it again.

5.00We really liked the tour. We have experienced and seen a lot. We especially liked the 10km hike to the cave and the village, as we experienced breathtaking views and hiking trails. In addition, we were lucky enough to be alone with our guide Quoc that day. The accommodation and food was also very good. The staff was attentive and helpful.

5.00We organized our tour with Jasmine from Vietnam Amazing Tour, for 7 nights and 8 days with Guide and Driver, Hanoi, Pu Luong , Mei Chau Our guide Kuoc Han from Pu Luong, in English, was extraordinary and was able to offer us alternatives according to our age (+60) We visited for 3 days: cave, waterfall, market, LAN village, Bat Cut village, water rafting, water wheel, local Sunday market, rice fields... I recommend Kuoc Han, everything was perfect and at our own pace.

5.00Incredible hotel, incredible staff, beautiful scenery. I wish I stayed longer. Our tour guide for some of our treks was Lan a member of the hotel staff. He was friendly, humourous and knowledgeable about the area, people and culture of this beautiful area. Best three days of my Vietnam journey.

5.00We had a custom tour made by Pu Luong Excursions, because we wanted 2 days Pu Luong and 1 day Mai Chau. We wanted a lot of nature, hiking and variety, but also that the condition of one of us was taken into account because of anemia. This was arranged very quickly and perfectly via WhatsApp. And it was all possible last minute! Even with private driver. The tour itself was very well put together with a good balance between the activities. We were well received everywhere and were well taken care of. We want to give special attention to our guide Tan. Tan was very friendly, knew a lot about the area, the culture, nature and the rice fields. And we had a good laugh with him, especially while consuming different kinds of happy water... Also very welcoming. He even invited us to his house at the end of the tour while enjoying some fruit tea and of course homemade happy water 😃 We can recommend guide Tan to everyone!
