  The tour checked all the boxes. Edwin was very informative on Ecuadorian history and the continuing culture of the Ecuadorian people. Tour was long enough to experience the old town district and then have plenty of time remaining in the day to enjoy more of the city. The tour price and cost of all the locations were incredibly affordable. I am more than happy to contribute to the Ecuador economy. Excited for the next tours!

  This is a really great introduction to Quito through exploring its food culture. Edwin does a lovely job of helping you to connect with the locals he knows and loves through their food. He took us to places we would never think of going to alone. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough. We’’d give this tour more than 5 stars if we could.

  Edwin’s tour offered unexpected stops in a variety of small, local restaurants with delicious, traditional Ecuadorean specialties. Each spot had a unique atmosphere, and we met the owners who welcomed us with generous options of food and drinks to try. Edwin shared local history along our walk and made the evening an experience we will never forget. He is a great ambassador for Quito and Ecuador.

  My favorite day in Quito. Edwin took us to a bunch of hole in the walls with much better food than anything we found on our own. He was very friendly and informative. We took this tour on our first full day and ended up revisiting many of the spots. And in case you don't speak Spanish, he speaks flawless English.

  Edwin showed me some great hidden food spots that unless you were a local you would never find. He also does a local bar crawl in which I discovered some real gems. Would recommend doing this tour early in your visit as you'll have places to revisit. Edwin is welcoming, professional and knowledgeable.

  Edwin focused on local hole in the wall places that really felt more like what local folks would eat on a usual day. I wish I had done this one first day so I could have come back to my favorites. He also incorporated culture, politics, and any topic I wanted to ask about since I was solo and tailored it completely to what I felt like eating (everything ). Nothing cost more than a few dollars at each stop and he made lots of suggestions on what to try. He was also kind enough to let me practice my beginning Spanish so it doubled as a 3 hour Spanish class with Edwin as a very patient teacher.. Since this was a food tour. I later did a walking culture tour with a different guide which included tasting at more higher end stores and restaurants. If that's more your thing, I'd let Edwin know. While I enjoyed fancy chocolate etc, I'm very glad to have first wandered around town with Edwin doing less touristy stuff. Plus he was a wealth of info about Quito, Colombia, history, and current politics. Really a 5/5.

  Started the day with a food tour with Edwin. @wayralocalexperiences Ecuadorians have hot chocolate and a warm bread roll with fresh salty white cheese on it for breakfast. $2.50 Then we went and tasted Cevichochos, “vegetarian chevêche”. And it was delicious. Who would have thought. It was Lupini Beans, red onion, tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, chifles, and chicharrones. They put bacon on everything in this country and I LOVE it. Even gave me the bacon drippings from the bottom of the pan to put on top. Added a lemonade. $5 Then we headed to another place for Encebollado Mixto. A traditional Ecuadorian soup. It had shrimp, fish, yuca, red onion, cilantro, and tomatoes in it. Added a lemonade and some patacones. $7 Then I got a bag of sugared peanuts that remind me of Boston Baked Beans. $1 Finished the tour with trying Pan de Yuca. $1 for 3 of them. And Canela laso. We absolutely should have done this tour first. It was a wonderful tour and it would have shown us exact where we should eat

  We explored some unusual places that I would not have tried on my own. Edwin is super knowledgeable about his country and history and is fascinating to talk to. The tour of has plenty of good vegetarian and vegan options which can be hard to find in Quito. Also Edwin offers some other tours and said he can be flexible with arrangements if people want to explore a particular type of food.

  This was a GREAT food tour. As Edwin says, it's unfiltered, the real Quito. And it was! Edwin gave us a ton of local history and took us to the small Huacas to try cheao, tasty food. It was a much more local and intimate experience than we were expecting and we loved every moment. I highly recommend everyone take this tour when they first get to Quito. It's a great lay of the land experience.

  I made this visit, I was alone with the guide, who made the effort to make this visit in French! It was great, I recommend, food and explanations from the local culture. I recommend.
