With its 36 various-sized domes, Kata Tjta provides quite a contrast to Uluru. You’ll get to know the landscape pretty well on an afternoon hike between the domes.

An early start this morning is rewarded with an Uluru sunrise as the sun hits the icon like a beacon, before the light floods the surrounding landscape. Your guide will take you to one of the significant cultural sights of Uluru, outlining Anangu rock art and passing on one of the creation stories of the site. While the morning is fresh, the time is yours to enjoy the self-guided, full base walk of Uluru, taking in all of the textures and valleys up-close, which isn’t evident from afar.

Once you’ve had lunch, perhaps purchase some art at the Cultural Centre, hand-crafted by local First Nation Peoples of the Western and Central Deserts.

Kings Canyon
The main attraction of Watarrka National Park is undoubtedly Kings Canyon – a humungous gorge enclosed by sheer rock walls many meters high. With its porous sandstone, deep gullies and hidden rock pools, it provides shelter to more than 600 species of native plants and animals. Your guide will point these out on a trek that takes in the canyon’s most famous locations – the Lost City, the Garden of Eden, Amphitheatre, and ofcourse the North & South Walls of the canyon.

This evening, you have choice to enjoy one of the following optional activities; a Sunset Camel Cruise, the Field of Lights, Sounds of Silence, the Wintjiri Wiru Drone display; or if you’d like to experience the Uluru sunset from a different perspective (and free of charge), tonight is the opportunity to do it!

Depending on your departure time, choose to take our free 10-minute transfer direct to Yulara’s Desert Gardens Hotel, or Uluru Airport (Ayers Rock Airport, airport code: AYQ). If you have plenty of spare time before your flight, so you have the opportunity to leave your luggage at the Desert Gardens Hotel, and spend some time in Yulara Resort shopping at your leisure. Please note: There’s regular free airport shuttles from the Desert Gardens Hotel to the Ayers Rock Airport.

5.00It’s a great experience for friends, couples or a solo traveler! You’d meet people and get to know the most interesting places in the red center of Australia. Lisa was really good and clear. Food was also really good!

5.00This was an amazing experience with an amazing guide. This is the best place in Australia to experience actual culture. The hikes were all amazing. We went to the sunrise on every hike (Uluru, Kata Tjuta, King’s Canion Rim Walk), and it really added to the experience. The night sky wasn’t amazing because of a full moon obscuring most stars, but the camping experience really tied everything together. I really loved our guide, Tash, and how inclusive and easygoing everything was. We had a group with a wide mix of age ranges (early 20s, late 20s, early 30s, 50s, 60s), but everyone really meshed well together and it was awesome to see. There’s really no bad experience I had that was due to the tour itself, but sleep quality can vary person to person, although you can upgrade to tents. All in all I think the best bang for your buck is the two nights option, but the third really helped with bonding and made it just a but less hectic. All in all, definitely recommend!

5.00It was a really nice experience! The trip was organized very well with the hikes in the mornings at best temperature. The best was de King’s Canyon rim walk! The tents where nice with good beds. We had a nice group, all very young, but still interested in us oldies. We had a really nice guide with nice stories. Knowing a lot of the Indegenous stories. His special interest in Vegemite gave it an extra sauce!!
Captain Vegemite is a legend!

5.00This tour was something special. Wayne (better known as Captain Vegemite) brought the Red Centre to life with his stories and knowledge. We explored all the must-see spots, but it was the atmosphere that made it unforgettable: glowing sunsets, peaceful sunrises, and skies full of stars. An experience I’ll never forget!

5.00An amazing tour. We were some of the only Aussies, and were so grateful for the opportunity to experience our beautiful country in this way. Our international friends on the tour loved it too, but I would like to specifically recommend this to Australians! If you’re tossing up whether to stay in the hotels or do a camping tour, go for the latter (followed up by some nights in the hotels too for relaxing by the pool like we did if that’s your thing). Sleeping in a swag under the stars was daunting at first but isn’t to be missed - although if that’s not your thing, the glamping tents looked very comfortable. I expected to be wowed by Uluṟu, but King’s Canyon and Kata Tjuta are also a must-see. Our incredible guide Jose made the tour. He was so knowledgeable, just the right mix of information and fun. The guides all do cultural competency training and so are experts at sharing the information they are allowed to about the areas, and showing us where to experience the rest. Our tag team of bonus guides Elyse and Ty were also amazing. Thank you to the Aṉangu people for generously allowing us to travel over and sleep on your land, and sharing your stories and practices. My only advice is to bring a head torch and a towel as these were not included. Hiking boots or other comfortable non-slip shoes recommended, particularly for King’s Canyon - don’t wear old trainers, the rocks are slippery even when dry. Whilst the last night is just back at the first camp so could be skipped if you are short on time, it was a lovely way to end the trip and gives you time to squeeze in an experience in Yalara like the field of lights.

5.00It have been an amazing experience here in the Outback in such an amazing site and I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing guide along these days who not just looked after us but also gave us lots of info about aboriginal culture and nature facts. Jose is an amazing guide and I would totally suggest going with him. All the best to my neighbour from Portugal :)

5.00Each day the trip got better and better. It was José’s first tour and he was amazing - always up for a laugh and involved in the group. Sleeping in a swag under the stars was unreal - definitely recommend this tour! Big up José and his non-strictness 😉🫶🏻

5.00A sensational pack jammed experience of Uluru, the Olgas and Kings Canyon. Tye was a brilliant knowledgeable guide and made everyone feel super welcome and everyone gelled on the trip. Plenty of food on offer and the experience as a whole exceeded my expectations.... loved it!
