This 4-day Chitwan National Park tour starts from Kathmandu or Pokhara by private vehicle or tourist bus. Located in Nepal’s Terai lowlands, Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich wildlife and natural landscapes.

The tour offers a perfect blend of nature and culture. Enjoy peaceful canoeing along the river, ideal for bird watching, followed by guided jungle walks and exciting jeep drives inside the national park. Each jeep accommodates a maximum of 10 persons for comfort and safety. Cultural experiences include a guided Tharu village tour and an entertaining Tharu cultural show, providing insight into local traditions. A visit to the sunset view point offers beautiful views over the park.

Tourist Bus Information: Guests traveling by tourist bus must reach the departure point on their own. Buses depart from Sorhakhutte Tourist Bus Stop, Kathmandu, or Tourist Bus Park, Lakeside Pokhara. We will provide vouchers closer to the tour date.

For clothing, neutral colored clothing is recommended. Light clothing is needed for day time with a sweater and warm jacket for the evenings from November to March. Comfortable walking shoes, sun hat, sunglasses etc. are essential. Insect repellent and personal medical requirements should be carried. During the warmer months swimming suits are recommended

Best Season is in Autumn (Sept. to Dec.) and spring (March to May) when the sub-tropical weather is at its best. Especially during autumn the clear weather will also help spot the elusive wild animals

Kathmandu or Pokhara to Chitwan by private car or tourist bus, choose option when booking.

Chitwan National Park

Early in the morning, you will depart for Chitwan. If traveling by private car, hotel pickup is scheduled at 7:00 AM. If traveling by tourist bus, you must arrive at the bus stop by 6:45 AM at either Kathmandu or Pokhara for the onward journey. The drive to Chitwan takes approximately 5-6 hours from Kathmandu and 4-5 hours from Pokhara. Upon arrival in Chitwan, you will be transferred from the bus station to your lodge, where a delicious lunch will be served. After lunch, enjoy a guided Tharu Village Tour to gain insight into the daily life, culture, and traditions of the local community. Later, visit a nearby sunset viewpoint to enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding landscape. In the evening, experience a lively Tharu Stick Dance cultural program performed by the local Tharu community, followed by dinner at the lodge’s restaurant.

Canoe Ride, Jungle Walk and Jeep Safari

Chitwan National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a serene canoeing experience followed by bird watching and a guided jungle walk through the natural surroundings. Return to the lodge for lunch, then head out for an exciting jeep drive inside the national park, offering opportunities to spot wildlife such as rhinos, deer, and other animals, with a chance of seeing a tiger if you are lucky. In the evening, return to the hotel to relax and unwind.

We visited in early January and expected it to be foggy and cold, and were nervous we might not get the full experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised! From the village walk, to the jeep safari and jungle tower experience - all were well-managed (timing and instructions), and we got to see a lot of the peaceful Tharu village life, and spotted many safari animals! Guides were all lovely (especially Krishna who brought us on the Village walk and so kindly shared about his community with us) and very knowledgeable! We stayed one night in the Safari Adventure lodge and one night in the Jungle Tower and both were amazing! I highly recommend everyone to try the jungle stay as we had SO much fun keeping our ears peeled - and managed to catch a glimpse of a sloth bear, deers, and civet cat pretty up close!! Mind you, this was in Winter even! Finally, the tour staff corresponding with me was also quick to respond to questions, which I really appreciate. We opted to add on a private vehicle pick-up and drop-off for this trip as we were in another part of Nepal. The driver assigned to us was steady and drives carefully (Mr. Amrit), and always early for pick-ups. If you’re planning on a trip to Chitwan National Park and worry about logistics, this is a good choice as the staff communicated the lodging and pickup information with me beforehand, and throughout the day (before each activity), so it helped my personal planning of the other parts of my trip to Nepal :)

I had a great experience on the Chitwan tour. The company made the whole journey hassle-free and smooth with clear communication and well-planned arrangements. The hotel was very good, clean, comfortable, and surrounded by beautiful nature. All the staff were friendly and always ready to help, which made our stay even more pleasant. Jungle activities were amazing, especially the jeep safari where we saw rhinos, deer, and many birds. The Tharu village tour and the cultural dance show were also very enjoyable and well organized. I highly recommend this Chitwan tour to anyone visiting Nepal, and we will definitely do the same tour again in the summer.

My pal and I had a brilliant experience in Nepal with Himalayan Luxury Holidays, tour agency based in Kathmandu! I contacted Roshni from the UK many months before the trip and she meticulously walked me through every leg of the trip a few times. She is absolutely amazing - very friendly , knowledgeable, reliable and clear in her communication. The hotels, the cabs, the guides were all top class. We really Pokhara - the sun rise - the breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri a magical boar ride in the lake in Pokhara, with fascinating views of the Annapurna, a memorable jungle safari in Chitwan National Park, Nagarkot sunrise hike, and so much more. Each experience was memorable replete with beautiful hospitality at the hotels. The accommodation we stayed in were exceptional, offering comfort, beautiful surroundings, great meals, and of course great service. We highly recommend this tour company and thank Roshni and the team for a wonderful experience.

Great variety of experiences. From dugout canoe to walking along suspension bridge, walking and jeep safari. We also chose to do the night in the tree house. We saw a Civet and a mum and baby Rhino that night, but walking back in the sunrise was beautiful. The guides were really knowledgeable and helpful. I'm 65 years old and had the odd balance challenge with some of our exploits, but they helped me and never made me feel a burden. If you get the opportunity do explore Suaraha town. It has some small cheap tourist shops and anything you need, including a pharmacy. The best restaurant we found there was called jonson thakali. But the food is included in this trip. But that for us was the only fault. The hotel we were in was nice but the food wasn't great to be honest. Particularly as a vegetarian. But everything else was great and this company uses lots of hotels . I would definitely recommend this trip.
