• STAY away from Joker. They're a Joke for a company.

  Booked this trip 2 months in advance. After a week or 2 of not hearing anything from Joker we messaged them. They were afraid to move forward with reserving anything due to GYG's cancellation policy and how it could reflect negatively on them should we decide to cancel. I offered to book directly through them instead and didn't get a response. 10 days before our trip got an email from GYG saying your trip had been cancelled. We received NO notification from Joker themselves. The information in the email from GYG said "Your activity provided informed us that this activity cannot be offered due to a strike in your destination." I wrote Joker asking about this and they said they were contacting GYG to investigate what had happened?! I called GYG complaining and they said I was unable to leave a review on their website for Joker! At this point we were scrambling trying to figure out how to still do a tour around the Salt Flats. Joker provided NO HELP, no alternative, and kept blaming GYG, saying they would get back to us after getting more information from them. After polling Reddit (we were trying to see if there was indeed a strike and were worried about getting stuck in Uyuni) the community said it was a BS excuse and to find another company. After investigating ourselves we found there were no return flights from Uyuni in a 10 day window around the end of our trip. So it seemed to be Joker had waited so long that the return airfare dates had sold out and they must be using this excuse to cancel our tour! They never did admit to it and the only response was we're waiting for a response from GYG. HORRIBLE company, find someone else should you want to do a Uyuni tour. We were able to get a flight to Uyuni but because of Joker had to take a night bus back. We ended up going with Andes Salt Expeditions instead. Their tour was comparable in itinerary and price. We were happy with them (I'll leave a proper review on their company page). Thankfully we did get a full refund through GYG but had to deal with days a stress and panic as we tried to find an alternative to Joker so close to our trip.

  Our experience was unique thanks to Jose's careful attention, from the first contact to plan the trip, we contacted several companies from whom we received responses very late, Joker made the difference from the beginning. The organization of the trip was great, forget about everything, they will buy the flight tickets for you, they take care of the door-to-door pick-ups, and best of all, the entire tour in Uyuni, perfectly organized, from the modern cars to the exquisite food , the super friendly and professional guides, Nadia, was one of the best guides on our trip.   We enjoyed a great service, with airport shuttle and pick-up service from our hotel to the airport, including help with check-in, and pick-up in uyuni and transfer to the hotel. The Hotel Antipax is very luxurious and offers a lot of comfort. We enjoyed the nights there very much! The tour with our guide beymar was super interesting, with many stops at the beautiful lagoons. We also felt safe during the car ride. Our highlight was the sunset in the sale del uyuni, the clear starry sky in the hotsprings and the additional stop at the sacred place of the black lagoon! At the antipax hotel, the food was very tasty! on the tour, we were given delicious vegan alternatives. We appreciated this very much and can highly recommend the tour with Jose!
