Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is located in a natural oasis in the heart of the Shaba Game Reserve just east of Samburu‚ or one can say‚ in the "Born Free Country" that Joy and George Adamson called home for many years. The lodge is 314 km from Nairobi.
It is set along the bank of the Ewaso Nyiro River laid out around the natural springs that flow into the river. The Lodge has a virtual mini forest of indigenous trees‚ a fish pond and a large free form swimming pool.

Samburu National Reserve
Experience Kenya’s wild side with a 3 day Samburu road safari. This semi-arid desert region is home to the Ewaso Nyiro river, dense woodlands, countless animals, birds and the Samburu people. Samburu is a Maasai word for the leather bag that they use when they carry milk and honey. The Maasai and Samburu are both nomadic pastoralists and their diet consists mainly of meat, milk and honey. A visit to a Samburu village will prove insightful, so make sure to include it in your itinerary. Samburu’s remoteness made it inaccessible for years, so it still has a serene ambience and wild charm.
