Tanzania's southern circuit's national parks and game reserves are often considered hidden treasures of authentic African wilderness. These expansive parks boast some of the highest concentrations of wildlife found anywhere on the continent and feature a remarkable diversity of animals. Among them are roan antelopes, lions, sable antelopes, large herds of elephants, African wild dogs (also known as Cape hunting dogs) and a wide variety of colorful bird species. Day 1 Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park We will pick you up from your hotel or the ferry and drive you to the SGR station for your train to the Morogoro region, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, our driver-guide will take you to Mikumi National Park for a late-morning game drive until lunch. After lunch, you will have time to relax before continuing with an afternoon to evening game drive. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian Mikumi. Activities: Game drive. Accommodation: Camp Bastian Mikumi. Meals: Lunch and dinner. Day 2 Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park You will be picked up from the hotel at 6:30am. After breakfast, you will drive to Ruaha National Park, which will take approximately five hours. Lunch will be provided upon your arrival. You will begin your game drive in the afternoon, which will continue into the evening. The Great Ruaha River, the park's namesake, is essential for supporting its diverse wildlife. Although Ruaha is one of the largest national parks in Tanzania and boasts a rich variety of animals, it is also one of the least crowded destinations, making your safari experience feel remote and exclusive. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Tanapa Ruaha Bandas. Day 3 Game Drive in Ruaha National Park On this day, you will leave early at 6:30am for a sunrise game drive, enjoying breakfast in the bush. After the breakfast break, the game drive will continue as you search for wildlife in various locations throughout the park. Be on the lookout for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and large packs of wild dogs, along with numerous other animals, until the lunch break. You will have a picnic lunch in the park where you can take some time to rest. After lunch, the game drive will resume until the evening. As you drive along the Great Ruaha River, you can expect to see a variety of animals, including buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, warthogs, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, greater and lesser kudu, sable and roan antelopes, as well as different species of birds, plants and reptiles. After a full day of exploration, you will return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Day 4 Ruaha Hilltop Lodge to Dar es Salaam After breakfast, you will pack your luggage, and we will begin our 6.5-hour drive to Morogoro town for the train. The train departs at either 4:00pm or 7:00pm for Dar es Salaam. Upon your arrival in Dar es Salaam, we will pick you up and take you to your hotel or the airport for your flight to Zanzibar or back home. Main Destination: Dar Es Salaam (City)

5.00Our trip was very nice except for the second night, where our accommodation was provided by the government. It was very run-down, and the food wasn't anything special either.
Unforgettable 4-Day Safari with Private Jeep – Highly Recommended!

5.00We were a group of four and had our own private Jeep with our guide and driver William, which made the safari flexible, comfortable and very personal. The entire 4-day tour was perfectly organized from start to finish. Our first stop was Mikumi National Park, where we spent a full day. The scenery was stunning and we already got to see many animals in their natural habitat. We stayed the night at Camp Bastian, which we absolutely loved. The camp is beautifully designed, peacefully located, and even has a pool – perfect for relaxing after a day on the road. The next morning we headed to Ruaha National Park, where we spent two days. The first night we stayed inside the park at Tanapa Ruaha Bandas. The views were absolutely amazing and we really enjoyed being so close to nature. However, the water wasn’t working and the strong wind blew right into the room during the night. Despite that, it was still a great experience. The second night we stayed at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge – which was fantastic! A beautiful place with an incredible view and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. On the fourth day, we drove back to the train station. A special shoutout goes to our guide and driver William, who truly made the tour exceptional. He was super friendly, very professional, and shared so many interesting facts about the animals, the landscape and local culture. You could really tell how experienced and passionate he is. The food and overall catering were also great throughout the whole safari – tasty meals, plenty of water and snacks, everything well taken care of. Conclusion: We would do this safari again in a heartbeat. It was well organized, full of wildlife, beautiful scenery and great accommodation. Highly recommended!

5.00This safari was one of the best experiences we ever had and we are very happy, that we chose kihindo safaris. It first started with the organisation of "Winnie" who helped us and answered our questions at any time of the day. She explained everything in detail and organized our trip perfectly. When we got there we were greeted by our excellent guide called "William" who was with us the whole 4 days. You could see that he has fun doing his job and could literally answer every single question we had. He always made sure, that we were happy and tried to make the drives as exciting as possible. We can really recommend the whole organization and the trip to everyone who wants to be part of a safari! And if you decide to book a safari, ask for William!

5.00Absolutely amazing tour — 10/10! Our tour guide, William, took care of everything from start to finish. He knew exactly where to go to spot the animals, and thanks to him, we even saw a leopard up close. William also made sure we had plenty of time to take photos and just enjoy the moment. This was honestly one of the best experiences of our lives for a really good price
