H.C. Andersen's House

Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the museum blends fairy tales, literature and poetry, connecting the indoor spaces with the surrounding gardens. With modern interactive installations, lighting, sound and scenography, visitors can explore Andersen’s creative universe and the deeper meaning behind his works.

The Funen Village

A large open-air museum showcasing rural life on Funen Island in the 18th–19th centuries. It is not a functioning village; instead, around 30 original buildings from across Funen—farmhouses, workshops, windmills and watermills—were relocated here and reconstructed.

Odense

LEGOLAND Billund

LEGOLAND®: The world’s first LEGO theme park, built with over 80 million LEGO bricks and offering 45+ attractions. Popular highlights include roller coasters, LEGO Ferrari experiences, and Miniland made from 20 million bricks. New Highlights: Pirate Lagoon: A new interactive play area added in 2025. LEGO House

Billund is one of Denmark’s world-famous family destinations, known as the “LEGO wonder city.” LEGO House – New Highlights: LEGO Master Academy: Officially opened on Sep 17, 2025. Inspired by the TV show *LEGO Masters*, it offers four levels of interactive classes—from family fun to master-level skills—guided by professional builders. Masterpiece Gallery – New Exhibition: Opened on Sep 26, 2025, featuring works by 17 exhibitors from 12 countries/regions—the largest exhibition in the gallery’s history. Displays include huge sculptures, wearable dresses, intricate mosaic art, imaginative scene models and kinetic artworks.

Esbjerg

Esbjerg is a beautiful coastal town on the Jutland Peninsula, known for its scenic harbor, modern sculptures and natural landscapes. 1. Esbjerg Performing Arts Centre: One of Denmark’s key cultural venues, hosting 100+ events annually including concerts, theatre, stand-up, musicals and opera. 2. Men at Sea Sculpture: An iconic group of large white sculptures along the waterfront—four 9-meter-tall figures facing the sea. A spectacular sight symbolizing the meeting of humankind and nature. 3. Ribe

Ribe is one of the oldest towns in Denmark and Scandinavia, with a history dating back to the early 8th-century Viking Age. 1. Kolding

Kolding is a distinctive town in eastern Jutland, blending rich history with a forward-looking design vibe. 1. Koldinghus Castle: The last royal castle on the Jutland Peninsula, with 750+ years of history. It houses a museum with Romanesque and Gothic church artifacts, Danish paintings, royal jewelry, silverware and ceramics. 2. Trapholt Museum: Showcasing chair designs by Danish architectural and design master Arne Jacobsen, known as the “father of modern Danish design.”

Fjordenhus

Located at Vejle Harbor and designed by Icelandic-Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. The building blurs the boundaries between art, sculpture and architecture. It features four distinctive cylindrical towers rising from the water (about 28 m tall), inspired by ancient castle walls and built with nearly one million handmade bricks.

Vejle

Vejle is a coastal city that combines fjord scenery, modern architecture and Viking history. 1. The Wave: Vejle’s most iconic modern building, designed by Henning Larsen Architects. Its five wave-shaped forms are inspired by the rolling waves of Vejle Fjord and the surrounding hills, and it has won multiple international architecture awards. 2. Gourmet Art Experience: Michelin 1-star restaurant LYST, located inside Fjordenhus. The dining experience blends refined elegance with sensory flavors. Its philosophy emphasizes sustainability and carefully selected fresh ingredients, using seasonal produce sourced within 100 km to craft an approximately 20-course tasting menu.

Roskilde

Roskilde is one of Denmark’s oldest cities, famous for its Viking history and the large Roskilde music festival. 1. Roskilde Cathedral: Known for its distinctive Gothic red-brick architecture and as the royal burial church of Denmark. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. Since the 15th century, more than 40 Danish kings and queens have been buried here—one site with the largest collection of complete royal tombs in the world. 2. Viking Ship Museum: The main exhibits are five Viking ship remains discovered and salvaged from Roskilde Fjord in 1962. The ships were deliberately sunk about 1,000 years ago to block enemy invasions. Visitors can also watch craftsmen build Viking ship replicas using traditional methods such as axe-hewing oak—showcasing exceptional Viking shipbuilding skills.
