  Climbing Mount Kenya with Wilderness Alternative Expedition was truly an unforgettable experience. Everything was well organized. If you don't have all the equipment, you can lend at faire rates. I did the trekking in a group and people had different paces but that was not a problem at all because there were enough guides to split up. So even when you are not the fastes climber, you don't have to worry, you will feel save and taken care of. The food was also good with a lot of vegetarian options. Thank you for this experience, I hope to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with you one day.

  We had an incredible experience trekking Mount Kenya with Wilderness Alternative Expedition, and I honestly cannot recommend them enough. From the very beginning, the communication was excellent. Everything was clearly explained, well organized, and handled professionally, which gave us a lot of confidence even before the trek started. A special thank you to Kenny and Joseph, who were outstanding guides throughout the entire journey. Their knowledge of the mountain, the routes, the weather, and how to handle different situations was truly impressive. You could tell they have deep experience and genuine passion for what they do. One thing that really stood out was how carefully they checked our gear before the trek and advised us on what we needed. That attention to detail made a big difference and helped us feel fully prepared. During the climb, they were incredibly patient and supportive, especially on the tougher sections. They paced us well, encouraged us when needed, and made sure everyone in our group was comfortable and safe. The entire trip was very well organized, from logistics to food to timing.   This was our second time traveling with Wilderness Alternative Expedition, having previously done a trip to Samburu with them, and once again they delivered an exceptional experience, this time on Mount Kenya. The food on the mountain truly stood out. Proper, well cooked meals served consistently, even in cold and high-altitude conditions. Portions were generous, balanced, and clearly planned with trekking in mind. Good food makes a big difference on a mountain, and they got it absolutely right. The guides were experienced, patient, and very familiar with Mount Kenya. They managed the pace well, paid close attention to everyone in the group, and created a calm and reassuring environment throughout the trek. You could feel their confidence and deep knowledge of the mountain every single day. Because our Samburu experience had been so well organized, our expectations were already high, yet this Mount Kenya trek still exceeded them. The same level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail carried through from safari to mountain. It is rare to find a company that delivers such consistent quality across very different experiences.   Our 4-day Mount Kenya trek with Wilderness Alternative Expedition was extremely well organized. The guides were patient, knowledgeable, and clearly very familiar with the mountain. They set a steady pace and never made anyone feel rushed. What surprised us most was the sleeping setup. Proper sleeping mattresses instead of the usual thin mats made a huge difference, especially at altitude. We slept well every night. The team was kind, respectful, and always willing to help.   We found Wilderness Alternative Expedition through Instagram while researching operators, and from the very first message, we knew we were in good hands. Kenny’s communication stood out immediately. He was clear, calm, professional, and incredibly responsive. Every question was answered honestly and in detail, which gave us a lot of confidence even before arriving in Kenya. On the mountain, everything was exceptionally well organized. The camping setup was far beyond what we expected. High-quality tents, very comfortable sleeping mattresses, and a campsite that felt thoughtful and well planned, not rushed or chaotic. After long trekking days, being able to sleep well made a huge difference. The meals were another highlight. Proper, well prepared food served consistently throughout the trek. You could tell effort and care went into the menu, and it showed in our energy levels and overall experience. The staff were kind, professional, and genuinely human. Always smiling, supportive, and attentive without being overbearing. You could feel the respect and teamwork within the crew, which says a lot about how the company is run.   Very special, once-in-a-lifetime experience, made possible by Kenny, highly professional guide Joseph, and the rest of the team. Due to their professional approach, I would definitely recommend Wilderness Alternative Expedition, especially to those for whom this trek might be more challenging than what they're used to. The route and the views are incredible. We did not see many other people.

  I recently organized a Mount Kenya trek for a group of friends with Wilderness Alternative Expedition, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. From start to finish, Kenny made the coordination effortless. Communication was smooth, every question was answered honestly, and planning for a group was far easier than I expected thanks to his professionalism. We went up the mountain through the Chogoria route and descended via Sirimon, and the experience was beyond incredible. The trek itself was high quality in every aspect comfortable tents and mattresses, delicious and plentiful meals, and a level of care and detail that made us feel special compared to other companies on the mountain. What they advertise online is exactly what you get: no compromises, no disappointments. The team deserves just as much praise. Lockii, the camp organizer, kept everything running perfectly; Joseph and Abdi, the assistant guides, were patient, encouraging, and full of good humor. And Kenny himself he’s not only a skilled guide but also such an entertaining person, full of random knowledge and stories that kept our group laughing even on the toughest days. What stood out most was the relationship between Kenny and his team. You can feel the respect and trust they share, and that made our group feel like we were part of something bigger than just a trek. After summiting, we joined Kenny for a staycation and game drive at Ilgwesi Tassia, which was the perfect way to relax and celebrate. I highly recommend adding this it tied the whole adventure together beautifully. This was more than just a mountain trek; it was an experience I’ll always remember. Having organized on behalf of my friends, I can say without hesitation that Wilderness Alternative Expedition set the bar very high. I’ll always pass the word about them, because they deserve it.   We came as a group from Kampala, Uganda and first found Wilderness Alternative Expedition on Instagram last year. In June 2023 we climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with them, though we never met Kenny in person at the time. This year, July 2025, we met him in Nairobi before heading to Mount Kenya. Kenny is a young man in his mid 20s, very fluent in English, soft spoken, and easy to talk to. From the start he stood out among other companies we had seen online. He is honest, with no hidden costs, and everything is well organized from professional drivers to perfect timing. The food was excellent, the porters were happy and genuine, and the whole team worked seamlessly. Right now we are in Maasai Mara with his team and when Kenny sent us this request, I was happy to write this on behalf of our group.   We climbed Mount Kenya with my friends on the Chogoria Route and wow… what a trip. The views were out of this world, but what really made it special was how Kenny and his crew handled everything. We’d get to camp and find the tents already set up, beds so comfy we forgot we were on a mountain, and hot meals that hit the spot every single time. Mornings were easy no rushing, just good coffee, good vibes, and a team that knew exactly what they were doing. It honestly felt more like a high-end getaway than a mountain trek.   We had a great time trekking Mount Kenya with joseph. We did the trek via the chogoria route, and everything was perfectly organized. The food was excellent, the tents were comfortable, and we loved every detail of the trek . the porters were fantastic and joseph knew the mountain so well .
