Mount Kenya National Park
You leave Nairobi at 8.30 am, transfer to Sirimon Park Gate (2,660m) the base of your Mt. Kenya. At Sirimon Gate, you will meet with your guides, porters, and chefs. Take lunch at the Sirimon Gate at around 12 noon. Begin the 9km trek to Old Moses (3300m). Have a stopover at Sirimon George to enjoy the views and take photographs. Have another break en route to hydrate and enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Kenya. This trek takes approximately 3 hours. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Have breakfast at Old Moses. Depart the camp at 0830 hrs for Shiptons (4200m). The trek is 14 km long and takes approximately 8 hours. Have en route lunch at a designated lunch point. Dinner and overnight at Shiptons Camp which overlooks the 3 majestic peaks Batian, Nelion, and Lenana.

Depart the camp at 0300 hrs, navigate the stony terrain while ascending to point Lenana. Arrival at Lenana will be at 0630 hrs. This day will allow you to take photographs of the sunrise as you enjoy the breathtaking views. After summiting, you will descend to Shipton for breakfast. The trek to and from Peak Lenana to Shiptons is 5kms. Later descend to Old Moses with en-route lunch. The walk from Shiptons to Old Moses is 14 km. Arrival at Old Moses at approximately 1700 hrs. Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Camp.

Have breakfast at the camp at 0700 hrs and descend through the rainforest for approximately 2-3 hours. Arrive at Sirimon Gate, where you will meet your driver for a transfer to Nanyuki. Have lunch in Nanyuki and depart Nanyuki for Nairobi. Drop off at your hotel.

Kenya with Hyrax, and it was absolutely wonderful! The guides, cook, and porters were all fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating, and engaging. 5.00Journey alone to do the Trekking, the spectacular team Daniel as guide took the acclimatization slips and explained every detail, porters Dani, Sami and George in the kitchen took care of every detail the exquisite meals. I felt very cared for and safe at all times. Recommended

5.00We hiked Mt Kenya over 4 days. The whole experience was such a good adventure. The guides and porters were all so friendly and went out of their way to make sure you had a good time. Our main guide Dan was really helpful and generous. There were other hikers and groups around on the mountain but it didnt feel too busy which can take away from the sense of remotness and adventure. As I mentioned we hiked it over 4 days, I would suggest doing it over 5 days to help with the acclimatisation as we definitely felt it. Hyrax were a great company, Irene always responded prompting to our emails and answered all questions. They also dropped us to the airport at the end of the trip which we hadn't expected. Thank you for an amazing experience and looking after us so well!

5.00I really enjoyed my time climbing my Kenya with hyrax safaris. My guide Daniel was a solid guide. Super fit and knowledgeable about the terrain/landscapes and nature. He would point out the different species of plant and animals, encourage us and always keep an eye out for us when we were climbing. His climbing experience is second to none. Our second guide, Sam, is also an experienced climber, having climbed mt Kenya and Kilimanjaro countless times. I really enjoyed hearing his stories and learning Swahili from him while climbing. 100% recommend. Go with hyrax and you won’t regret!

5.00We did the 4 day 3 night hiking tour of mount kenya and frankly it was spectacular. We had a private tour but was supported by a team of 5. We had everything we could need in the tour in terms of camping equipment, food and even porters helping you share the load. The hike itself is spectacular and I couldn’t recommend hydrax enough if you thinking of a Mount Kenya hike. The team are super friendly and made the whole experience stress free.

The team, which consisted of Daniel, Kim, Douglas, John, and Morris, looked after us amazingly the whole time and made the experience unforgettable. 5.00I did the Mount Kenya 4 day hiking trip with Hyrax safaris. My guide Daniel was excellent and the hike was really enjoyable. I had a great time and always felt we were being looked after by Daniel and the rest of the team. The views were excellent and scenery was well worth the trip.
