⚠️ IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING San Blas is one of the most beautiful and untouched island paradises in the world — turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and the unique culture of the Kuna people. At the same time, San Blas is very rustic. Think of it more as a cultural adventure / camping trip on a tropical island, rather than a luxury holiday. ➡️ If you expect 5-star comfort, we recommend our other tours in Panama. ✅ If you come with an open mind, you’ll discover an authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experience far from mass tourism. Our Service vs. Local Service We provide excellent service during your booking process and will assist you before and during your trip. But please note: We do not own or operate the islands. Once you arrive, all services are provided by the local Kuna community, and quality may differ from what you’re used to. Extra seat = extra cost Pick-up 5:00–5:30am — be ready on time (drivers cannot wait more than 10 mins) Boat ride: 20–40 min, can be wet & bumpy depending on ocean conditions Kuna Culture Only Kuna may work in San Blas Most don’t speak English; service is simple, not hotel-style Respect, patience, and a smile go a long way Nature & Environment Ocean currents bring plastic debris (Kuna clean regularly) Sandflies common in rainy/windless season (April–Dec) → bring repellent Weather is unpredictable — rain possible anytime (no refunds for rain) Health & Safety Very limited medical care on the islands Serious issues require evacuation to Panama City (guest covers cost) Travel insurance is strongly recommended: www.taotravel365.tours/travel-insurance/ Final Note San Blas is not luxury — it’s about disconnecting, embracing a unique culture, and enjoying paradise. Come with patience, flexibility, and respect. The Kuna may be reserved, but are kind and welcoming. Research places to visit without so many vendors. And research places to eat with good reviews. I liked one place or another that we saw but what I enjoyed most was the family trip.

This was a great excursion and i would definitely recommend it. the accomodations were rustic but we knew that going in, and were what we expected -- we even brought our own sheets we bought in Panama City just in case, but didn't need them, as the sheets provided were fine. However, being on an overwater bungalow was a really amazing experience as the water is clear and you can see tons of fish right on your balcony. the island we stayed on was very nice and we enjoyed the swimming and island hopping (and snorkeling near a ship wreck). Communication during the trip could have been better as to what we were doing and when, but when i messaged on whatsapp the tour company was very responsive. everyone on the islands were very nice and hospitable and made us feel welcome on their land. we also didnt notice much trash, which seemed to an issue other reviewers had. i don't think you can miss a trip to san blas islands when visiting panama!

We were left stranded on accommodation island for 2 hours after everyone else was collected for their island hoping experience. Was very stressful due to language barrier and not what we expected after paying so much.

We had reasonable expectations coming into our trip to San Blas, and we were not disappointed. The food prepared was great and the staff were kind and accommodating despite some language barriers. The cabins were simple but provided everything as described. The island was quiet, relaxing, and beautiful. Wailladub in particular seemed more quiet and less crowded than other islands were visited during our trip.

Can’t give it less than two because we love the sea, the typical food and people, but the island was filled with trash and debris, the cabins were just ok, not sure if I would use the water to shower or wash up. Sad part, with some burning and effort it could be a destination for sure.

The spot with all islands around is amazing. We were not expecting tremendous confort in the cabins, they are quite nice. But there’s unfortunately no effort made to have a clean island and beaches (except the one of arrival). Trash can be found around an honestly half a day would be enough to clean everything. There was work in progress during our stay (on Saturday seriously), with a lot of noise made by the tools and the guys building new cabins. So you actually feel like a merchandise fed for lunch and dinner, then transported from one point to another without any big effort to get you in confort.

Stunningly beautiful and unique place, that we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit. It is definitely “roughing it” and a cultural experience where you feel like a visitor in a strange land rather than a guest to be catered to, but that is refreshing and interesting compared to so many other tourist destinations. We could not give this five stars for two reasons: First, the specific island we were on had a terrible blood-sucking sand fly problem. It was mentioned deep in the listing, but we learned from speaking with people we met who stayed on other islands, that our island “Waiiidub”, had a specifically bad problem with the flys compared to all others. By terrible, I mean if you stand still anywhere on the island, without wind or a fan blowing on you, 10-20 of the tiny flys immediately land and start feeding. My gf and I ended up with 100s of itchy swollen bites all over our bodies that made it difficult to enjoy our time on the island and impossible to sleep. Even the locals on our boat tour on day 2 described it as the “only” island with the sand fly problem. This was confirmed by the time we spent on other islands during our tour and didn’t see any flys or discover any new bites. The second issue, is that other than a few poor quality photos at the very end of the gallery, the photos on this listing are NOT where we stayed. The cabins we stayed in were not “newly built” as described and do not look the same as the ones pictured. Our cabins were similar enough that this would not have been an issue on its own, but combined with the bug problem we felt a bit set up. If you do book this listing, you will have a great time, but don’t forget lots of bug spray (like we did) and be prepared to wear it throughout your time on the island.

Great cabins! We stayed on different islands in prior years and compared to those these cabins are very decent. Don't expect luxury! Come with low expectations and you will enjoy your stay in San Blas paradise

Staying at an over the water cabin is a plus to experience this amazing destination... wake up, open the door of you cabin and jump into the crystaline water of the Caribbean Ocean. The staff is very friendly, food is tasty (not a lot of options, but good food). If you are looking for the perfect get away location were you can forget about everything... this is the place!
