Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari
The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as Deir el-Bahari, was built by Queen Hatshepsut, the daughter of Pharaoh Thutmose I. She ruled Egypt for nearly 20 years during the 18th Dynasty, around 1490–1469 B.C. As one of ancient Egypt’s most remarkable rulers, Hatshepsut is celebrated as the only female pharaoh to have ruled with full authority.
Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, standing at around 18 meters (59 feet) high on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor. Built over 3,400 years ago, these statues once guarded the entrance to Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple, which was among the largest in ancient Egypt. Despite centuries of erosion and earthquakes, the Colossi remain an iconic symbol of Egypt’s grandeur and are famous for the mysterious "singing" sounds they once emitted at dawn, believed to be caused by temperature changes in the stone.
Luxor Temple
The Luxor Temple is a vast ancient Egyptian temple complex situated on the east bank of the Nile River in present-day Luxor. Built around 1400 BCE, this magnificent structure was known in the ancient Egyptian language as Ipet Resyt, meaning "The Southern Sanctuary.
