  We were so lucky with our tour guide Jasmine. she was so engaging and excited to show us around it really made such an amazing experience. I really appreciated how attentive she was and how she catered to the needs of our group. between her smiles and laughter we had such a fantastic trip. it really highlights the importance of having a good tour guide.   I had planned for months to go with a different agency, but when the mountain was closed by the authorities due to risks that early in the season my guide decided he was not able to support us, leaving me with 2 weeks and no plans in place other than flights and a couple of hotels. I reached out to Jasmine at Yunnan Exploration and suddenly everything was back on track! She arranged train tickets from Kunming to Lijiang where our super competent mountain guide met us with a van and driver and took out to the stunning tiger leaping gorge where we then hiked for half a day and stayed in a beautiful mountain view hotel, the next day we did some hiking and some terrifying ladders up the face of the gorge before heading in a van to haba village where our Guide lived and ran a small friendly hotel. We then hiked up the mountain to a viewpoint with comfortable huts then a brilliant 9 hour hike day with deep snow, some altitude and amazing views, all in the hands of our very capable guide. Then back down for another night in haba village. Jasmine stayed in touch with me and the guide the whole time. The next morning a bus was arranged to take us to shangrila via the white water basins and after a good night's sleep our new guide turned up at the hotel to take us the monastery and some local hot springs, his English was excellent as was his knowledge of the area, the next day he dropped us in Lijiang where we wandered around and had some beers by the canal, he again picked us up the next morning to take us to the train station where Jasmine had already arranged tickets and we went back to Kunming. The whole time Jasmine stayed in text contact with me, answered any questions, was super kind and helpful. I will definitely be in touch next time I head to Yunnan!

  I went there back in 2023 during the Spring Festival, from Lijiang to Shangri-la. It was a delightful experience, and I'm grateful we chose Yunnan Exploration as our travel agency. They truly provided us with the best trip arrangements. Lijiang stood out as the highlight of our trip. it was an enchanting place where we indulged in the famous flower cake. I had a great night there, eating and walking. Lijiang was bustling with Tibetan vendors selling cultural artifacts, and the roads were alive with people singing and playing the guitar. Shangri-la offered a different kind of adventure, immersing us in the wonders of nature. We climbed Haba Snow MoutainIt, surrounded by a vividly blue sky reminiscent of cobalt. The national park treated us to awe-inspiring forests and vast expanses of blue sky. Despite the chilly weather, the scenic beauty was truly captivating. After this journey, I truly understood why James Hilton described Shangri-la as the "lost horizon." I must mention that the professional suggestions from Yunnan Exploration regarding transportation options and tour arrangements were invaluable. They greatly facilitated our trip and made everything more convenient. Overall, it was an amazing experience, combining the beauty of natural landscapes with rich cultural encounters. I would love to return to Yunnan someday to relive those cherished memories.
