This package offers an excellent 4-day trip to the top three attractions in Lhasa, which include Tibet's largest palace – Potala Palace, the holiest temple in Tibetan Buddhism - Jokhang Temple, and the most famous Circumambulation in Tibet - Barkhor Street. Also, you can step into Drepung, one of Lhasa's three monasteries, to experience the profound Buddhism activities there.

Stay overnight in Lhasa, a 3-star or 4-star hotel.
We will pick you up at Lhasa airport/railway station and transfer you to the hotel. It takes about 90 minutes from the airport to the hotel and 20 minutes from the train station to the hotel. After arriving at the hotel, you are advised to take a rest to get used to the high altitude. You can stroll around the hotel, but do not tire yourself out.

Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si)
Today is your first day of sightseeing on the high plateau. In the morning, the first station is the Drepung Monastery, which is the largest Tibetan monastery that housed more than 10,000 monks in the past. Drepung means Rice Heap in the Tibetan language. The entire monastery is large in scale and the white buildings cluster and covers the hillsides. It's the highest-ranking monastery in the Gelug Sect.
Tibet Museum
In the afternoon you will first visit the Tibet Museum. Here you can see life scenes, exquisite clothing, house architecture, and festival customs, etc. to explore the special and mysterious Tibetan customs.
You will visit Norbulingka, which is a typical Tibetan-style royal garden, the summer resort of the Dalai Lama.

Potala Palace
On your third day, you will be feeling much more acclimatized to Lhasa’s high elevation. It is an excellent idea to spend the day exploring the Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and the meditation cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. It's best to explore the inside of the Potala in the morning for 2-3 hours. Afterward, you may walk the pilgrimage route around the Potala Palace.
Jokhang Temple
In the afternoon, you will head to the Jokhang Temple, which is well known as the center of Tibetan Buddhism and features Buddhist prayer wheels, reclining deer, and golden sutra streamers, etc. Also, you can see many pilgrims praying in front of the temple and doing kora.
Barkhor Street
After visiting the Jokhang Temple, you will stroll in the old alleys of Barkhor Street, where you can drink sweet tea, chat with locals and even bargain with the street vendors to understand the real-life in Lhasa.

5.00We had a great time in Tibet and our guide was super funny and had a lot of knowledge about Tibet and the local culture. We visited the Drepung Monastery, the Potala Palace, the Tibet Museum, Lhasa Old Town, Norbulinka and had even some time to explore Lhasa by ourselves. Our Travel consultant Emily was patiently answering our hundreds of questions and organized the train tickets to Lhasa and the travel permit for us. She also helped us to decide which tour fits best to our limited time in Tibet and made sure that we got a driver to the airport on our last day, as we were leaving early in the morning. We can highly recommend booking this tour in Lhasa.

5.00Well organized tour. Contacted them through email and WhatsApp. Jenny provided every single detail I asked. Initially I contacted them in June planning to go in August, due to a work commitment I had to delay it till September. Email and WhatsApp messages spread over months but same attention was given while providing support even though I’ve already postponed the tour once without even paying for any booking. Tour was well organized. Tibet permit was sent to my hotel well in advance. Guide and driver picked me up from the airport. Smooth ride. Well explained tours. Hotel should have been bit improved for 3 star, big breakfast but choice of options were limited. I don’t necessarily go for food so that was fine by me. Anyway, I enjoyed the tour.

We were already superbly supported during the booking process – a big thank you to our travel consultant Jennie, who accompanied us throughout the planning and answered all our questions patiently. Our journey began with our arrival in Lhasa, where we were warmly welcomed and taken to our hotel. The highlights of the tour were numerous: a visit to the impressive Drepung Monastery, the Tibet Museum and the beautiful Norbulingka Palace on the second day, followed by the majestic Potala Palace, the spiritual Jokhang Temple and a stroll through the vibrant Barkhor Strait on the third day. Every day was carefully planned and allowed us to dive deep into Tibetan culture and history. A special thanks goes to our guide Lobsang, who not only had incredible knowledge, but also made us feel comfortable and safe at altitude. His explanations and stories have made the visits to the sights very special. The service and organization of Great Tibet Tour was first class, and we can warmly recommend this agency to anyone planning a trip to Tibet.
