This 4-days Safari has been designed to take you to Mikumi then Udzungwa, but will offer you more time in the Mikumi to see the wildlife.
Mikumi is the 4th Largest National park in Tanzania and it guarantees wildlife sightings. Most people visit Mikumi National Park aiming to spot the ‘Big Five’ (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), and they are always not disappointed. Hippo pools provide close access to the mud-loving beasts, and bird-watching along the waterways is particularly rewarding.
Udzungwa is the largest and with most biodiversity and a chain of a dozen large forest-swathed mountains that rise majestically from the flat coastal scrub of eastern Tanzania. Known collectively as the Eastern Arc Mountains, this archipelago of isolated massifs has also been dubbed as the African Galapagos for its treasure-trove of endemic plants and animals, most familiarly being the delicate African violet.

Depart at 1200 Hours in Dar es Salaam with our guide drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours’ drive from Dar es Salaam. You will have hot lunch at Morogoro Town the proceeding drive to Mikumi evening game drive you will have the opportunity to spot lions, cheetahs or leopards, Elephant, zebra, buffalo’s, hippos and other more. Later we will transfer you back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Udzungwa Mountains National Park
After early breakfast, go for a sunrise game drive in Mikumi National Park, Then with picnic lunch drive to Udzungwa national park, meet a guide and proceed for trekking. Udzungwa is a magnet for hikers. An excellent network of forest trails includes the popular half-day ramble to Sanje Waterfall, which plunges 170 metres (550 feet) through a misty spray into the forested valley below. From there you will see a view of Kilombero Valley from 180 meters. Our guide will take you around there, later transfer back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Today you will spend the whole day inside Mikumi National Park. After breakfast full day game drive in the park, see the beauty of Mikumi national Park, see many animals like Elephant, Giraffe, wild dogs, Lions, Antelopes and many more. Our guides will have more time to take you to interior parts of this park looking for animals that are difficult to spot. Later transfer to your lodge for Dinner and overnight at your lodge

Early morning sunrise game drive and will lead you to see remarkable numbers of bird’s species and animals. You will also have the chance to see animals hunting in the park. Later you will be transfered back to your lodge for breakfast, after breakfast. Later we will stop at Maasani boma on the way back to Dar es Salaam, stop at Morogoro town for your lunch proceeding to dare s salaam

5.00This 4 day safari was one of the best experiences of my life. In Mikumi National Park, we saw elephants, lions, giraffes and buffaloes from close quarters. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, explaining the behavior of each animal to us. Reaching Sanje Waterfalls by trekking in Udzungwa was a great adventure - the water of the waterfall and the call of the birds on the mountain created a strange feeling. Accommodations were very clean, and the food was excellent.

5.00Beautiful trip to Mikumi. Our guide Halfany was really a great guy, we see all the animals we could imagine, wonderful ! Each activities was suited to our needs, and the food was delicious most of the time. The organization was on point, from hotel pick up in Zanzibar to plane booking to Mikumi (also lodge). Great experience.

5.00Fantastic trip and great customer service from Paul prior to the trip. Saw numerous animals on safari- lions, cheetahs, crocs, impala, elephants, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, hippos and our guide Francis was thoughtful and kind and made sure we had the best time! Cool and refreshing waterfall hike and informative visit to a Masai village. Safari lodge was basic but clean and tasty food- campfire every night was a special touch. Icing on the cake was a lion who crossed in front of our van as we drove away from the park back to the airport! Highly recommend.
U can enjoy the tall Sanje waterfall which plugs 170meters put udzugwa NP in ur list

5.00The organization of this trip went smooth and without problems. They took care of the domestic flights as well as any other transportation needed. The Safari itself was outstanding and we saw a lot of animals upclose. Truly an amazing experiance overall.

5.00We went for the Mikumi Safari with our guide Gaston in January. The flight from and to Zanzibar were included and the journey from the airport to Mikumi while quite long wasn't boring at all because there's a lot going on on the side of the road : local cities, landscape and even animals. Once there, we stayed at the great and peaceful hotel Camp Bastian : very tasty food buffet, pool, bar and facilities. We spent a full day in Mikumi Park for the Safari where we had the opportunity to see all the animals this region has, what an experience ! Lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, antilopes, gnus, monkeys, buffalos, hippos... The following day we went for a hike in the mountains, a couple hours drive away from our staying point. We chose a medium difficulty climbing out of 3 circuits proposed. We learnt many things about local trees and how they're useful to the population but while the climbing was kind of tiring, we forgot everything when we had the privilege to see those 3 waterfalls and the nature surrounding. Breathtaking experience. Our guide Gaston was friendly and knowledgable. We liked chatting with him and to this day, we are still in touch via WhatsApp or Instagram. He made the whole experience even better as he is nice, calm and likes his job. This whole trip was a great highlight to our 14 days Zanzibar stay.
