Cruise was good, neat and rooms were comfortable .staff were very courteous.Chef was friendly and provided us with vegetarian food as one of our freind was vegetarian. One of our group member lost her contact lens case which was left in bathroom. The staff couldn’t find it and could neither get new one.It was difficult for her to manage. Since there is locking system for the cruise in Nile river we reached Luxor later than the scheduled time of arrival.so all our Luxor temple visits were squeezed onto last day and it became hectic and tiresome in the hot sun.Our guide was MrTalaat Abdo who was nice and knowledgeable but it was difficult to understand his English.overall the trip was good

During my birthday week I decided to join this cruise (boat name: Queen isis) so I could learn more about the egiptian history while stoping in the many temples they have along the Nile. The ship inside (except the lobby) looked quite old specially the carpets, however for positive points the rooms were clean and the kitchen staff was very warm and friendly and did not try to beg for tips. One of the problems of this trip was the fact that they do not provide for water (which should be the minimum for a 5 star cruise). We have to buy on board for 2-4 dollars or we can go outside and buy for cheaper price in a very sketchy unsafe place. This is ridiculous because no one should pay for water while on a 5 star cruise specially since in my booking, it does not say wether drinks or water is inclusive, nor feeling unsafe and having kids asking you for money or food constantly when you try to buy water. However if we ignore this, the main problem that destroyed the trip and the other travelers was the tour guide. The guy was very scammy from the start. This person shouldn’t be allowed to work as a tour guide specially in a 5 star hotel. I understand that the tour guide is managed by an agency since he is a freelancer and not directly with the boat. He started on the first day saying to give him 100€ for the temples (which is fine because is actually the prices for all the temples) plus 25€ on tips per person for the staff. We thought it was weird for him to request us to pay up hand this amount because according to my egiptian friends and also from my traveling experience you should give a tip if you like it not because someone asks you. I told him no and said that I would only tip if I liked someone’s service. Through the 4 days he was bothering everyone to pay 25€ each for the tip everyone was pissed because he was constantly asking people on WhatsApp to give the tip. On the 3rd day he asked to speak individually with everyone for us to give a good review of him in a platform in which he has his profile where agencies ask him to provide him for a job associated with a specific boat. It’s crazy. For the last day he said to everyone to give him an extra tip because the tip that he asked in the first day was for the boat staff and was not for him. everyone was enraged and complained to the managment. The Asian tourists did not understand English and were upset because in the end they gave 50€ tip. I could speak more examples on how he scammed other people that were in the group and complained but this review would be even longer. We spent in the end 100€ each (200€ total) more for this awful experience. Never again. Do not recommend.

We had an overall wonderful experience with our great tour guide, Khaled El Saady. Our ship the M/S Al Nabilitan is an older ship and shows signs of its age and definitely in need of refurbishment but for what we paid for the tour it was acceptable; we didn’t pay thousands of dollars which is what you’d pay for the true 5 star luxury ships. The pool was tiny and there was no gym. The meals were buffet style and the food was actually quite good with freshness, variety and flavor. I especially enjoyed the soups and fish (although seemed they only used one type of white fish). The entire staff from dining crew to room attendants were courteous, friendly and attentive. Our guide was highly organized and we always had car/driver waiting for us. Khaled was also very informative on all the archaeological sites and is wealth of knowledge on all things pertaining to ancient Egypt with two masters degrees in related subject matters and having been tour guide for many years. His passion for history and culture of ancient Egyptian times was palpable. We felt Khaled really tried to take care of our group, helping us negotiate with local vendors so we wouldn’t overpay (too much) the “foreigners” price. The 4 days was packed with sites and activities, some of which were optional and additional charges but these were all enjoyable like visit to Nubian village, traditional meal and felucca sail. All the promised tour visits were accomplished, including the balloon ride which was one of the highlights of the tour. Unfortunately, due to some delays (had to pick up other people and wait for approval to leave dock on boat crossing Nile) we arrived late and missed the sunrise part of the balloon ride. I would recommend reworking the last day’s schedule. It was very hot entire time of our tour and on the last day we were all tired and worn out and had jam packed itinerary in which we visited Valley of Kings and Hatshepsut Temple midday heat and didn’t eat lunch until 4:30pm. We should have had lunch break before visit West Bank attractions. We did some shops visits (silver/jewelry/spices and alabaster stone) that in my opinion took too long. Also because we were pressed for time some little things like supply of cold water was missed.

Khaled was a fantastic tour guide while on the cruise. He was flexible, knowledgeable and understanding of our family situation. Mina was also a great tour guide while on the cruise. I highly recommend both for your side tours while in the cruise.
