When you think about a trip to Eritrea you don't know where to start. You would like to do it yourself as almost everywhere in the world, but then you understand that help is needed. Thanks to the Internet I discovered Phil's organization and I am completely satisfied. From the first contacts via WhatsApp, to the competitive quote compared to other agencies, to the creation of the tour exactly as we wanted it. He followed us from arrival at the airport until departure, the driver was excellent and the guide, Soliana, of an extraordinary courtesy, elegance, sympathy and culture. Having attended the Italian School of Asmara he speaks Italian better than 90% of Italians. He made us discover every corner of Asmara and Massawa, as well as villages around the capital; strong and important experiences, which we recommend to everyone. Eritrea is a beautiful and welcoming nation. Very civil and safe. As Europe has been for at least a century. Don't postpone a trip there, and rely on Phil and Soliana!

I can strongly recommend Visit Eritrea and Phil. I can also say if you are thinking about visiting Eritrea, you should it will almost certainly exceed your expectations. I have been to lots of more challenging travel destinations. I think with any sort of guide you are looking for someone who is very knowledgable, has a good personality, and is able to make the country accessible to you, and help you underhand. Phil from Visit Eritrea gives you a lot very good, clear information about what to expect, what to bring etc and also what to do when you get there. Phil has a very good demeanour. He is calm, very knowledgable, but also very kind and gentle. He knows seemingly almost everyone. As someone who likes to take a lot of photos, he is always thinking of cool and interesting places to go and things to shoot. He makes Eritrea open and accessible - if you want to look at something, find out something, try something, go somewhere, he very easily makes it happen. I really enjoyed my time in Eritrea. It’s a very beautiful country - the geography itself. The people are also very kind, nice, and engaging. You can get excellent food as well as being able to find high quality espresso (which I need more than I should). It is a different place to travel. You will very much be the odd one out. But it has a lot to offer and really makes for a great alternative destination. I think when more people understand what it can offer in terms of a travel experience, as well as the engaging and accessible culture, it will become very popular.

Just spent 9 days with Philemon & his team on a small group tour around Asmara, Keren, Massawa & the Dahlak Islands. They delivered a wonderful experience. Highly competent on the ground, & great communication by Whatsapp considering the connectivity difficulties in Eritrea! Any issues that arose (this is Eritrea!) were dealt with fully & professionally. Philemon's calm manner & cheery disposition made for a wonderful trip. The rest of his team were also incredible.

I was very impressed with the mixture of activities, history, and sights to see during the three days we spent in Eritrea. Phil was very helpful with assisting us in gathering important and necessary documents. Our luggage hadn't arrived until our departure day, and Sam was very quick to help us locate some things to hold us over. Sam was an excellent guide and took us to all of the greatest local spots. I learned so much about the country and the culture while visiting. I highly recommend this tour company. Thanks for everything!
