We will observe the extraordinary Armenian decorations that embellish the façade and the richly frescoed interiors. Next, departure for the beautiful region of Transylvania.
Sibiu
The next stop will be in Sibiu, a beautiful medieval city where Romanians and Saxons have been living peacefully for centuries and where the various religious monuments (Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants) demonstrate this peaceful coexistence. Sibiu was named European Capital of Culture in 2007 and hosts an extraordinary theater festival every year. The city fascinates thanks to its three squares (Big Square, Small and Huet Square ) that transport tourists in a real medieval atmosphere. Its towers and its 15th century bastions, but also its beautiful museums and the famous “houses with the eyes” give the visitor lovely moments. Also in Sibiu you will see one of the largest gothic evangelical churches in Transylvania.

Centrul Istoric Sighisoara
We continue the tour with a visit to the city of Sighisoara, with its imposing Clock Tower. This citadel is the best preserved in Europe and, extraordinary, it is still inhabited. Since 1999 the historic center of Sighisoara is a UNESCO heritage site. Here we will admire the church on the hill, reachable after a wooden staircase called the schoolchildren’s ladder. We will also see the statue of the famous Hungarian national poet Petofi Sandor, testifying to the fact that in Sighisoara the Magyar community was in the past numerically important. Next to the statue is the beautiful Catholic church, reserved for the Hungarian community, and the tower of the shoemakers. You can have also the lunch at the house where Vlad the Impaler was born (own expenses)
Brasov Historical Center
In the evening arrival in Brasov, a wonderful Transylvanian town, once entirely fortified, an important cultural, tourist and commercial center. Brasov impresses with its typically German architecture, where the Gothic, the Baroque and the Renaissance intersect to give life to an interesting and culturally very lively city. Visit of the First Romanian School, which is located in the oldest district of the city, and which was inhabited exclusively by Romanians, the Schei district, interesting for the entrances into the city that were carried out in medieval times through the Caatherine’s and Schei Gate, quest last of the nineteenth century. In Brasov we will also visit the impressive Black Church, the largest evangelical Gothic church in Eastern Europe, with a 65 meter high bell tower and a length of 90 meters. We will then admire the palaces and houses of the historic center, with the Council Square which now houses a beautiful museum, and the pedestrian Avenue of the Republic.

Bran Castle (Dracula's Castle)
Visit the famous Bran Castle, better known as Dracula’s Castle. In the Middle Ages, Bran was exactly on the border between Wallachia and Transylvania, so it was essential for the inhabitants of Brasov to build and preserve a defensive stronghold. In the 90s of the 900 this fortress was transformed into a beautiful castle thanks to the intervention of Queen Maria of Romania.
Peles Castle
visit to the fabulous Peles Castle, the summer residence of the first king of Romania, the King Charles 1 of Hohenzollern, of German origins. The castle was beautifully designed by a Czech architect, and is famous for being one of the most modern castles in Europe at the time of its construction, between the 19th and 20th centuries. Each room is characterized by a unique style, different from the styles of the other rooms. We will also admire the Florentine room, where we will breathe a typically Italian and Renaissance atmosphere.

Our private guide NARCIS ARION was fantastic. My son hasn't stopped talking about him and what he learnt, and we are all following up with additional research into Romanian history and politics on Youtube. Narcis was flexible in his approach to what we would do and tailored things around what we liked as he got to know us. The hotels were all great location and the quality. The vehicle was very comfortable. We will have to go back as 4 days meant a lot of things we would have liked to have stopped and explored we just had to sadly drive by. What a wonderful country Romania is. My daughter and her partner are now planning to book at tailored tour next year.

Mattia picked us up at the place we were staying at the time he said he would and at the end of the 4 day tour dropped us off at our hotel. He navigated the Bucharest traffic like an expert and soon we were on our way to Transylvania. During the drive Mattia took the time to talk about Romania and was able to answer our questions or honestly said if he didn't know the answer. Mattia was a good driver and at no time were we concerned. On our visited Transylvania he guided us around all the described sites and provided lots of interesting detail. The only çomment I would have is that the van which was new was bumpy when riding in the back. The van did provide the 2 of us with lots of room and good visibility. It was a great 4 day tour. We would absolutely recommend Mattia and Trip2RO tours.

I took my family (2x adults, 2 x girls age 10 and 6) to Transylvania for 4 days with Trip2Ro and we had an amazing time. Having a private tour made things much more flexible and our guide (Paul) was incredibly informative and friendly throughout. Romania is a beautiful country too; at least in August it is... Great value for money. Recommended.

I took this tour in August 2019 (2 adults, 2 daughters ages 10 & 6) and we had a fantastic time. We had a private minibus for 4 days, and our guide (Paul) was very professional and informative; he also had great suggestions for places to eat. Other than the meals, everything was prepaid making the overall trip excellent value for money. Transylvania/Romania is a beautiful country in the summer, well worth a visit.
