Dongzhulin Temple

Our driver and tour guide will pick you up at 8am from your hotel, drive about 4.5 hours to Deqin County (3400m altitude) which is 187km away from Zhongdian through Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve, you will be able to view Baimang Snow Mountain if the weather is clear, pass the top part of today at 4292m altitude at 156km.  After traversing mountain ranges, you will make a short stop and have lunch at Benzilan town, take some shots on the first bend of Jinsha(Yangtze) River, Dongzhulin monastery and Baima (white horse) Snow Mountain. The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and stupas, and Tibetan villages.

Feilaisi National Forest Park

After arrival Deqin, pay a visit to Feilaisi. Feilaisi Monastery is a place for Tibetans to pay homage to the sacred mountains. The monastery also serves as a center for many of the activities and festivals held by local Buddhists. Facing the main peak of the Meili Snow Mountain – Kawagebo Peak, it is famous for its viewing deck for amazing scenes of the sun rising over snow covered mountains.

In the early morning, view the magic sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain. After the magic time, you’ll drive about 1 hour to Mingyong Village for Mingyong Glacier. It is a long glacier at Kawagebo Peak, stretching from 6,470 meters to 2,600 meters, with a length of 11.7 meters. At over 13 sq km, Mingyong Glacier is not only the lowest glacier in China but also an oddity - a monsoon marine glacier with tundra, taiga, broadleaf forest and meadow. You’ll take a sightseeing bus for about about 4km to Mingyong Glaciers, and continue your visit to Tibetan Taizi Monastery (2,720 meters) - another good spot to view the magnificent Mingyong Glaciers. After lunch, be transferred to Cizhong.

Cizhong Church

In the morning, visit the Tibetan Catholic Church built by French missionaries in 1867, the church is used by Tibetan, Naxi and Lisu people. They still have the grapes planted by missionaries and old the traditional way of making wine. Then, drive to visit Tongle Village in Yezhi Town, it is a traditional village inhabited by people of the Lisu ethnic group. Tongle is one of the oldest Lisu villages in Weixi. It has a history of nearly 300 years. After the tour, continue drive to Tacheng, check in to the hotel for rest.

Yunnan Golden Monkey National Park

In the morning, pay a visit to Tacheng Black Snub-Nosed Monkey National Park of Weixi County. Watch the feeding of the snub-nosed monkey in the park.

Stone Drum (Shigu) Town

Then, continue drive to the First Bend on the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, visit the Iron Chain Bridge, the Red Army’s Long March Memorial Monument in the Shigu Old Town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. After the tour, drive back to Lijiang, check in to the hotel for rest.
