In the morning you will start your 4-day group joining safari with a drive to the Tarangire National Park. The park, roughly the size of Luxemburg, covers an area of approximately 2,600 km². The landscape of savannah, seasonal swamps, and giant baobab trees is home to Masai giraffes, buffaloes, hartebeest, eland, fringe-eared oryx, the weird-looking long-necked gerenuk, and over 550 species of birds. But it is the elephants, Tarangire is famous for and the park, where herds of up to 300 animals roam, is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see them and to get close to these giant creatures. After an extensive game drive, you will drive to Manyara (Mto wa mbu), where you will spend the night in a mid-range lodge.

After breakfast, you will leave Mto wa Mbu and drive through the cooler highland region towards the Serengeti National Park. The world-renowned Serengeti National Park, with its diverse landscape ranging from grass plains and dry savannah to marshy woodlands, is the stamping ground of many carnivorous predators and their prey. The park is home to the largest animal migration in the world and depending on the season you will be able to witness this spectacular event unfold. The herds of wildebeest and zebra journey in the short rainy season of November and December from the hills in the north to the southern plains before returning to the north during the longer rainy season of April to June. The location of the migrating herds is dependent on the yearly rainfall, but your guide will know where the best vantage points for wildlife viewing are. The night will be spent at a lodge in central Serengeti.

As the sun slowly rises over the vast open plains, you will commence your first game drive of the day. Due to the abundance of prey species, such as gazelles and impalas, the park boasts one of the largest lion populations in Africa as well as other predators such as leopards and cheetahs. Returning to the lodge after the game drive you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before leaving the park and driving towards Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the crater rim, the 600m deep caldera in all its splendor opens up before you. You will spend the night at a lodge on the crater’s edge, watching the sunset over the glistening springs of the collapsed volcano’s floor.

After an early breakfast, you will start your descent on a narrow and steep road to the crater floor. The crater is inhabited by a spectacular array of wildlife, which includes zebras, hippos, hyenas, wildebeests, warthogs, and the famous Big Five – buffalo, rhino, lion, elephant, and leopard. After extensive game viewing and lunch at a picnic spot, you will leave the crater in the evening and travel back to Arusha.

5.00This was a total life changing experience, booking a great wildebeest migration safari with burigi chato safaris allowed me to see the world from a very different angle and I absolutely loved the whole experience. Seeing how thousands and thousands of wildebeest accompanied by zebras fighting for their life , I felt like I was watching a movie . Burigi chato helped me plan this best Tanzania wildebeest migration safari and made sure I was well taken care of each day. Everyone was super nice to me and the burigi chato safaris very intelligent and sharp guide amazed me with his in depth knowledge about the wild plains and all the animals that we saw! 5.00Serengeti was the best experience that I ever had. For me, not only we can see wild animals, but also the lanscape is so beautiful with kopjes everywhere. Even though I only had 3 days, Serengeti offers more than animal zoo can do. So, take a time to travel to Serengeti through Ngorongoro.

5.00I love Africa in every way and believe Tanzania is one of the most fascinating African destinations, especially for those approaching this continent for the first time. We visited all four parks and spotted all the big five, thanks to the professionalism of the people who accompanied us in the Safari. It was great to meet ancient tribes with a way of life far removed from ours and share time with them. The nature, sunrises, and sunsets of Tanzania are something indescribable. I can’t wait to return to this land to explore Kilimanjaro too!

5.00The Serengeti National Park is a Tanzanian national park in the Serengeti ecosystem in the Mara and Simiyu regions.It is famous and well known for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded (or brindled) wildebeest and 250,000 zebra and for its numerous Nile crocodile and honey badger. That migration is the largest remaining unaltered animal migration. It contains 1.5 million ha of savanna. The park is the centerpiece of the Serengeti Ecosystem and twice as large (which includes neighboring Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maasai Mara National Reserve in bordering Kenya.)

5.00I visited Tanzania August last year, Serengeti was my best destination, I did a Serengeti migration safari for 4 days, my focus was to see the millions of wildebeest migrating and crossing the Mara river. It was a photography Safari. I get what I deserved. I recommend to have atleast one day in central Serengeti and two days in northern Serengeti. And if you want to go to Zanzibar after Serengeti it better to plan a Serengeti drive in - fly out safari or Fly in - fly-out safari.
