Experience the Grand Canyon from a biblical creation perspective with Canyon Ministries.
The Sunset Rim Tour begins inside the park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flagpole, meeting around four hours before sunset. From there, you’ll journey along the South Rim’s east side on Desert View Drive, traveling in comfort to some of the most breathtaking overlooks and vistas.
At each stop, step out to take in stunning views, explore the surroundings, and engage in meaningful teaching. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the canyon’s geology, wildlife, and history, all framed by the biblical account of Creation and the Flood as described in Genesis.
At the end of the tour, we will close out the day with the One who made it as the sun sets far to the west over the rim.
Total tour length is variable, depending on when the sun sets that day. Plan to be back around 30 minutes after the sunset.
Additional tours, backpacking, & Grand Canyon river trips are also available!

Grand Canyon South Rim
Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim
Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.

5.00This was fabulous. While the stories in the Bible are familiar to me, discussing them while looking at the evidence is amazing! Our guide, Dana, was fabulous and knowledgeable and very helpful.

5.00A peaceful, kind, and extremely informative guide, Eddie. We learned a lot as we listened and asked questions. Deepened our knowledge of geology and science, bibical account of the flood affecting the earth, and how those two things verify each other. Our faith was strengthened. Thank you! 4.00Be prepared for lots of information, geology, theory, logic, opinions and preemptive rebuttal of current published 'facts'.... references to Scripture were supportive but not elevated as authoritative. Our guide Bob was passionate, enthusiastic and persuasive. His evangelistic energy for convincing us was authentic but initially the intensity was distracting from the content. He provided ample room for questions & comments; had our safety & comfort in mind and encouraged quiet personal time at sunset. Bob provided great general park information too. Wonderful afternoon!

5.00Our guide David was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about science and geology and coupled that with a wealth of knowledge of scripture. He brought the book of Genesis alive. At the end of the tour, there is no doubt that God masterfully created the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend this tour.
