Experience the Grand Canyon from a biblical creation perspective with Canyon Ministries.
The Sunset Rim Tour begins inside the park at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center flagpole, meeting around four hours before sunset. From there, you’ll journey along the South Rim’s east side on Desert View Drive, traveling in comfort to some of the most breathtaking overlooks and vistas.
At each stop, step out to take in stunning views, explore the surroundings, and engage in meaningful teaching. Your guide will share fascinating insights into the canyon’s geology, wildlife, and history, all framed by the biblical account of Creation and the Flood as described in Genesis.
At the end of the tour, we will close out the day with the One who made it as the sun sets far to the west over the rim.
Total tour length is variable, depending on when the sun sets that day. Plan to be back around 30 minutes after the sunset.
Additional tours, backpacking, & Grand Canyon river trips are also available!

Grand Canyon South Rim
Our biblical creation tours of the Grand Canyon National Park's South Rim include multiple stops to the very best overlooks with tons of insightful teaching throughout the day. The order below is a "typical" route, focusing on the park's east side along Desert View Drive. Due to changing weather, seasons, or the people flow in the park that day, we may have alternate stops other than what we provide below. Our tours are not "scripted", so guides have the freedom and flexibility to respond to changes in the park as well as your own individual group dynamic. Our tour does not include entry fee into the Grand Canyon National Park, which you may pay at the gate or use a National Park Pass. Entry is good for 7 days of unlimited use.
Grand Canyon Visitor Center South Rim
Our tour meets at the flag pole just outside the Grand Canyon Visitor Center building INSIDE the park at tour start time. Plan extra arrival time during spring and summer. Holidays and spring break may have lines over an hour long getting into the park. We suggest you arrive early and enjoy views at the Grand Canyon Village or Mather Point or a Rim Trail walk before joining our tour.

5.00Our guide David was amazing. He was so knowledgeable about science and geology and coupled that with a wealth of knowledge of scripture. He brought the book of Genesis alive. At the end of the tour, there is no doubt that God masterfully created the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend this tour.

He gave great insight and was able to get us where we needed to be without rushing us! We felt very blessed and couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

5.00We had the best time on our creation sunset walk with Eddy!! He blew us away with all the knowledge of the canyons and how it all pointed to our Creator. We will never look at the canyons or any other landscape the same! We were so encouraged as well by Eddy, his testimony, and his love for the Lord. My teen boys, husband, and I learned so much as well as enjoyed the amazingly beautiful Grand Canyon- at sunset non the less! The walking tour was wonderful and I would recommend it to everyone!! Thanks Eddy and thanks Canyon Ministries!

5.00The highlight of our honeymoon. We loved meeting and speaking with other christians, getting a greater insight of science and fact, and new perspectives that expand our love of God’s creation. Definitely a must see, but through the lens of God leaves you with nothing but praise and proof of His power.

5.00Emilia was great. She knew so much more than just about the canyon and rocks. She gave us history, was great with the family. We learned a ton, and were inspired to come back the next day and do more hiking. The tour was very reasonably priced. Our family of 6 with some younger ones had some concern that the duration would be too long, but it was perfect and the variety of stop helped keep things interesting for the younger ones.

5.00Our family of 5 did the sunset tour with Emilia as our guide. It was wonderful! It was so refreshing to hear the Biblical account of creation and the impacts of the flood and the ice age. Emilia had her Bible and read Scripture as we looked out over the canyon. Science and the exhibits at the canyon tell us the earth is billions of years old and try to deceive us with big time numbers. A Biblical worldview is 6-7 thousand years old. I believe the Bible. It is the Word of God. The tour presented truth and Emilia did a great job. I recommend this tour to everyone if you live God, truth and are looking for a tour that lines up with your faith. Jesus is Lord!!!

5.00This tour sells out so book early if this is something you know you want to do! Highly recommend going Sept-Oct! Avoid summer and anytime school is out. Out guide was truly amazing and he definitely gave us something to think about as to how the canyon was formed which challenges conventional thinking! Bro was awesome!
