Native form French Polynesia, humpback whales return to Moorea’s waters every year. Here, they give birth to their baby calves before embarking for a new migration southwards. Are you ready to immerse yourself in their mystic universe? After a safety briefing on approaching the cetaceans in the water, we’ll be off in search of humpback whales along the coast. During your expedition, you’ll have a chance to observer humpback whales. Swimming is not compulsory - you can observe from them the boat if you prefer to. Our certified crew will launch the swim only after assessing that the approach conditions are favorable. Our priorities are the respect for animals and your safety.

We went on a half day private tour with TAMA and had a fabulous time. They went above and beyond to help us have the best possible encounters of the day, including letting us back in the water even though time had run out and it was time to return. We saw and swam with several whales and dolphins! The team continues to keep our safety and the safety of the whales in mind. We even saw a baby hammerhead shark from the boat. It was a fabulous day!

We had a simply unforgettable experience! We chose a private tour to Moorea and it was the best decision: the guide was fantastic, prepared and attentive, and allowed us to experience the magic of the island in an authentic and relaxed way. The most exciting moment was swimming next to the whales: a unique and indescribable experience, which we will carry forever in our hearts. Seeing them up close, in their natural environment, was something magical. The organization was impeccable and the atmosphere really special, in full respect of nature and animals. A tour that we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who wants to experience Moorea from a unique and unforgettable perspective.

This trip is not for the party crowd. This is for able-bodied swimmers who are willing to swim to see the whales. We got to see a sleeping whale and clearly hear a male sing. We also ended up with a whale so close that we were surprised. I couldn't see the whale underwater, but I could clearly see it above water.

TAMA tours is amazing. They did a fantastic job of welcoming us with a positive experience. They shared so much knowledge on whales with us as well as their culture. They were friendly hardworking and committed to ensuring we had an amazing experience. We were able to get in the water 3 times with whales which was fantastic. More importantly they did it ethically and followed all the rules for whale interactions. I hope I can go back again one day and do another tour with them. We were a group of 7 so we got a private boat. The booking experience was also easy and the communications were quick and easy. If you want to do a whale tour or lagoon tour absolutely do it with TAMA Tours.
