The tour begins with the east coast of the island, with its beautiful black sand beaches and famous surf spots, before entering the heart of the Papenoo Valley, Tahiti’s largest valley. This immersion in the lush nature of the island will offer you the opportunity to discover its essence in an authentic and unique way. The tour is commented with stops at several remarkable sites, offering breathtaking scenery up to Caldera, an extinct volcanic crater that gave birth to Tahiti Nui. You will be amazed by the majestic waterfalls, lush green mountains, lush vegetation, and local flora and fauna. The guide will share fascinating stories about myths and legends, marae, and the island’s rich cultural and historical heritage.

5.00This is a full day adventure. It's loads of fun and the scenery is fantastic. It's clear Leonie and her team are knowledgeable and passionate about Tahiti. Our guide stopped frequently to show us different plants (explaining their value to the people of the island) and breathtaking waterfalls. We had a nice stop for lunch (which we purchased at a store prior to leaving Papeete) and they supplied delicious fruit for dessert. They played lovely music for us at lunch and even got us up dancing. Note we didn't have any bathroom breaks until lunch (perhaps if someone needed one there would have been somewhere provided), so plan accordingly if you know what I mean. The trip, as others have noted, is along bumpy roads and many are along the side of the mountain but the scenery made it all worthwhile.

5.00This was a beautiful experience! The interior pass was like out of a movie… definitely a bumpy ride but was worth every penny. Our guides were fantastic and helped give a full cultural experience in addition to showing us one of the most beautiful places around!

5.00We had an absolutely unforgettable 4x4 experience with Safari Hereakimanu. A total immersion in the lush and wild nature of Tahiti — authentic, powerful and impressive. Head to the majestic Papenoo Valley, the largest valley on the island, dominated by green mountains and crossed by the Papenoo River. From the very first kilometers, you feel transported in a grandiose, almost mystical setting. The route is punctuated by photo stops, up to the caldera — a spectacular remnant of the extinct volcano that was the origin of Tahiti Nui. Waterfalls, dense vegetation, peaks shrouded in mist, local flora and fauna... each stop reveals a more impressive landscape than the last. An excursion rich in discovery and raw beauty. A huge thank you to our guide for his passion and sharing — we definitely recommend! 🌿✨

5.00We loved our Tahiti island safari!! Leonie was the most wonderful guide, she shared so much history and love about her home and you could tell she is so proud and passionate about her island and truly loves sharing it with others. We saw the most beautiful landscapes, made amazing stops along the way and learned so much about the flora and fauna of French Polynesia. She was so attentive and always checked if we had questions and were doing okay. Truly the sweetest woman. I 100% would recommend this tour over any other!!
