I booked onto this tour through another provider, Ultimate Travel. I had the most wonderful week exploring the stunning Tasmania. My group were all of a similar age, and I’ve formed many great friendships from the people I met on the tour. The tour was very well organised, and covered the length and breath of the island showing off the many highlights. The tour was made special by our wonderful tour guide, known by all as ‘Wombat’. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of his homeland, spanning history, geography, geology, flora and fauna. If I’d have done this trip on my own, I wouldn’t have gleaned 5% of the insight I learnt while on the tour. I can’t recommend Tasmania, and this tour, enough.

Just a wonderful experience! I have taken several small group tours and this was among the very best. Our guide, Keygan, had an encyclopedic knowledge of Tasmania. He delivered it to us with an ironic Tazzie sense of humor. Unlike many five day, four night tours that are really three days of touring, this one had five fully packed days starting usually at 7 a.m. and lasting until dinner. The days included plenty of rest stops and a range of hiking with the longest (and best) about 6 km. The availability of a range of accommodations was a big plus. Each day, there was a supermarket stop allowing us to purchase our own picnic lunches and, if we wanted, dinners. There were also enough restaurant choices for those of us who didn’t want to cook. There is so much to Tasmania, but I felt this tour was the right amount of time to get a great taste of all that it offers. We saw plenty of animals in their natural habitats. Also, unlike many, many small group tours, this one had none of the shopping stops that are often uninteresting and designed to earn the guide commissions. Dealing with this company was also a pleasure. Keygan is a star and you’d be lucky to get him as your guide.

Two stars for the curated tour itinerary and accommodation provided. But a big let down by the behavior and attitude of the tour guide,Brendon. The guy acts smart and rather than passing on informations on the places and points of interest, talks irrelevant stuffs .No clarity of information and behaves rudely on being enquired again. A whatsapp group was created for all who were traveling but we were left out even though he took my phone number. So, any valuable information passed on was missed by us. This was so very important as an incident happened with us in Bicheno. While we went for dinner after the tour ended for the day and had checked in the motel, inadvertently we missed our room access card. So, I frantically called Brendon,to help us out. But he didn't respond to calls or to personal message. If we were in the group, we could have passed on this message which the other resident in the hotel from our group could have assisted .We were left in lurch at night . Brendon, said me in the morning while picking us up that he slept, so couldn't respond to my call or message. Fair enough, but I was aghast that after seeing the message in morning and learning the incident he didn't care to enquire as what was going on and all is well or not. That's not done. I ask here the tour operator ,what responsibility is given to the tour guide,in case someone encounters some problem or fall sick beyond the tour timings, whom to seek help from? Hope the tour operator takes cognisance of these issues and train /groom/orient their guides to be more sensitive on these issues. Be informative and respond to guest's queries and last but not the least treat each guest at par with others irrespective of which country they r from. We felt discriminated ,to be honest.

This tour delivered as promised. It was thoughtful and took us to some spectacular vistas. Our tour guide, Will Baker, was knowledgeable and friendly and delivered just enough commentary and stories without inundating us. Highly recommend the tour and guide.

I would NOT recommended this tour operator for: - anyone with neurodiversity and on the spectrum - anyone with motion sickness - anyone with mobility issues - anyone for whom English isn't the first language. This tour operator clearly caters for the young, the fit, the fluent English speakers. Management were fully and transparently informed about my additional needs prior to the tour. Their first response was to tell me to CANCEL and get a refund (!!!), which obviously was a discriminatory action. After I told them my flights and hotel were paid for, they said the guide "will do their best to accommodate my needs" and wished me a great time. Right from the start of the tour, it was very obvious the guide wasn't trained to handle complex situations and he actually verbally scolded me in front of other tour passengers, more than once. His actions led to the group alienation, isolation and negative attitutude towards me. I had a fairly miserable time and cried almost every day, despite visiting beautiful sites and having paid quite a bit to have a nice time... The guide's commentary was very fast and confusing to several tour members and a result they didn't know where to go, what time to meet etc. This led to people being stressed and feeling like they were letting the group down. There weren't many walking options for people with mobility issues, and the guide did the HARDEST walking option EVERY TIME, leaving the slower walkers on their own, to do their own thing. The bus was very basic (old), the accommodation (hostels) were basic, and to staty at motels I had to pay almost as much as the tour itself. If you're young, fit, speak fluent English, can understand fast Aussie speech, suffer no motion sickness, don't mind loud music played at all times on a small bus, including early mornings, spending hours at a time on a bus, waking around 6-7am daily, having to listen to some other passengers who talk NON STOP the whole time (yes, not exaggerating) - this is the tour for you.

We’ve just finished the 5 day tour in Tasmania and wow! What a place, we loved it. The landscapes are beautiful, the activities included were great but even greater was our tour guide, Brendon. He made our trip unforgettable with his personable nature and informative insights into the place itself. Without him it wouldn’t have been the same. The group was amazing with a range of 19 to 70 which made a great atmosphere. The accommodation was clean and tidy and food options recommended were also very good. I will definitely be back and can’t recommend Under down under tours enough. Thanks again Brendon :)

We booked a five day trip to Tasmania, with the hostel for couples option. Dispite the slight hickup with our pick-up. (Tour guide had been given a different location than we got.) We had a wonderful time! Seeing Some of the best spots in ‘Tazzie’. We were even lucky enough to spot two platypus at our first overnight spot! Also, make sure that you go see the play ‘the Ship that never was’ in Strahan. A welcome detour from the trip. Our guide Brendon was very knowledgeable and funny at the same time. He gave us the feeling that he knew what he was doing and really cared for our safety. All in all a very value for money experience and with a group of Only 24, we got to know a lot of the members and Some of them even spent Christmas together. (Unfortunately, we had to leave Tazzie) 10/10 would recommend. Greetings J&I from the Netherlands

We went on the Famous Five tour, we don’t usually do ‘organised’ tours, preferring to do our own thing. However we are so glad we chose Under Down Under to show us beautiful Tasmania. We had a fantastic time, our guide Hadyn, being born and bred in Tazzy, was extremely knowledgeable about the Island’s wildlife, geology and history. This made the bus journeys to each location very enjoyable and interesting. I think we would have missed a lot of this if we had toured alone. We went for the hotel option and all the accommodation was clean and comfortable, we had a chance to look at one of the hostels and that looked great too. Every activity was optional and there were always good range of things to do for all fitness levels but you had to have reasonable fitness levels to get the best out of this tour. The Famous Five ended too quickly for us, we wanted to stay longer and were very envious of those staying on for the 6 and 7 day options. Being a Tasmanian owned complany, I would highly recommend Under Down Under.
