This five-day tour visits the most famous parks of Northern Tanzania. Spend two full days in Serengeti National Park, the world's most famous wildlife park. The Serengeti is home to the wildebeest migration, an annual parade of more than two million wildebeest and zebra. The Serengeti is also believed to support the world's largest lion population - more than 3,000!
To round out the five day tour, spend one day each in Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Park. Ngorongoro Crater is the world's largest intact caldera and provides a protected environment for the wildlife that lives inside it. Tarangire National Park is home to large herds of elephant as well as many bird, antelope and cat species. Tarangire's wildlife is viewed against a backdrop of giant termite mounds and millennia-old baobab trees.
As an optional stop along the way, visit Olduvai Gorge. All of this will be guided by one of our expert safari guides. Karibu Tanzania!

Tarangire National Park
Meet your safari guide at 9 AM, and depart for Tarangire National Park. The drive to Tarangire is approximately two hours. After reaching Tarangire, proceed on a game drive for the rest of the day, with a picnic lunch in the park. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant population, scenery, and diversity of birdlife. Tarangire's wildlife includes elephant, lion, giraffe, and many bird and antelope species.

Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, enjoy a final game drive in Tarangire as you exit the park. Drive to Serengeti National Park, an approximate 5 hour journey from Tarangire. After reaching the Serengeti, Spend the rest of the day on a game drive as you make your way to Kiota Camp. Species commonly seen in the Serengeti include wildebeest, cheetah, zebra, lion, giraffe, impala, topi, and leopard. The Serengeti is also home to more than 540 species of birds.
Olduvai Gorge
Have an optional stop by Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world.

Spend a full day viewing wildlife in the Central Serengeti. Known for its healthy cat populations, Central Serengeti is perhaps the best place in the world to view large cat species.

Often called the eighth wonder of the world, Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, and is one of the only places in Africa you can view every member of the "big five" (rhinoceros, lion, cape buffalo, leopard, and elephant) on a single game drive. Depart from Lions Paw after an early breakfast for your Crater game drive. After lunch on the Crater floor, return to Arusha.

5.00We decided to go on safari for our honeymoon and didn’t really know what to expect. Based on the positive reviews I decided to go with Duma Explorer and I am so glad I did. Our trip was absolutely perfect and a truly once in a lifetime experience. Communicating beforehand was smooth and simple. Our guide, Ebenezer, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and capable. He could confidently answer every question we asked and knew how to safely navigate all of the parks we visited. We enjoyed getting to know him on a personal level as well. The accommodations they booked for us were beautiful with delicious food and amazing service. We had the best time and highly recommend this tour company!

5.00We had the most amazing trip with Alika Africa and Duma Explorers! Everything ran so smoothly with Stacy’s planning and our guide Justin honestly made the whole experience unforgettable. He was super fun, easy to be around, and taught us so much about the animals and Tanzania in general. Justin always made sure we were in the perfect spot to see the wildlife — we got incredible views and photos every single day. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable, and made it a once in a lifetime experience! This trip totally exceeded our expectations. If you’re thinking about a safari in Tanzania, definitely ask for Justin, he’s the best!

5.00Ok people listen up. This company has the best guide in Africa and he's name is Justin. Make sure you ask for him because we got to see some “ok” ones. He is so professional and took care of us the whole time. We got to see everything we wanted (everything). Justin taught us so many new things and had an answer for every question. On the intellectual aspect he was exactly what we needed. Someone with our mindset , young , family man, and ambitious. He always surprised us and the moment we thought we've seen it all he found us another crazy experience. Make sure you ask for this guy if you want to guarantee your safari experience will be successful and fun. Thank you Justin! Overall the experience was amazing, will definitely use this company again when I come back. Highly recommend!

5.00We had a fantastic 8 day tour with the best guide imaginable. Isack Msuya was an outstanding guide who went above and beyond. He could spot animals that were hard to find with binoculars. Our camps were superb with friendly hosts and great hospitality. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Isack.

5.00Duma Explorer/Alika Africa were recommended by a good friend when I told him of my desire to do a well led safari in Tanzania. We are so glad we listened. Everything was done well - you pay a high price for any private African safari, but this was absolutely worth the investment! The owner Stacey gave us excellent guidance as we organized the trip; she even helped us make superb choices for our hotels in our 11 days in Zanzibar. We spent 10 days with our private guide from Duma/Alika, and we completely bonded with our wonderful guide Isack. He has over 20 years of experience, respects the nature and really seems to have karma with nature. When a wildlife river crossing was delayed by weather and other factors, his sense was to go look for some lions on the rock hills, and we found them. When we showed him some interest in birds - he found us so many wonderful creatures, raptors and many others. This was a trip of a lifetime - 6 days in the Serengeti around the wildlife migration and 4 days entering Ngorongoro Crater - Isack found us great experiences every day. Highly recommended!!
A Truly Amazing Experience

5.00We had an amazing trip! It started with our guide, Justin. WOW! He was absolutely amazing. He took care of us extremely well. He was also incredibly knowledgeable, teaching us all about the different animals and the ecosystem. The vehicle was in great shape. The accommodations and the food was excellent! On the first day we drove into the park, we saw a lion pride eating a kill from that morning. On the last day, driving out of the park, we saw a lioness carrying a cub in her mouth while the other cub followed her. Those were special bookends to our trip. In between, we saw leopards, a cheetah, giraffes, baboons, elephants, gazelles, water buffalo, wildebeests, and so much more. I really could not recommend Duma Explorer more. And I very highly recommend Justin to be your guide. He was amazing!

5.00Long time world traveler, and first time poster (Think North America, Europe, Asia, South America). I literally just returned from a Duma Explorer adventure a few hours ago. I grew up as poor black girl in New York City, except replace "black" with "white", "girl" with "boy", and "New York City" with "Rural Northern Wisconsin USA". It's about the same thing. Thinking about taking a plunge? Want to try something other than a temporary, trending Insta-perfect adventure? Look no further. Contact Stacy with your general idea(s), budget, and timeframe. She's prompt, precise, and will provide you with all options. I was fortunate enough to pair with Justin who's calm, curious, and committed. We cracked jokes about "The Ugly Five" (insert hand motions of the creator dashing salt / pepper into a bowl while stirring), caught the "Big Five" on camera due to his skill and commitment, and relaxed at some of the nicest, non-fenced, camps throughout the bush. I had literal elephant neighbors at Tarangire to keep me company at night. Look, if you're still reading this - what's the harm? Contact Stacy to get an idea.
