The typical start time for your first safari day is 7:30 AM. Our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel or another location as agreed. By 10:00 AM, you will reach Tarangire and start your first game-drive!

The legendary Ngorongoro Crater! Here you will witness tens of thousands of wild animals living in the massive crater left by a huge ancient volcano. The actual crater is relatively small, when you consider that it is home to the most variety of animals per square meter than anywhere else in the world! Here, you are sure to see a great number of animals within close proximity to one another. The descent into the crater will take about half an hour of driving. The road passes through beautiful, lush forests with great scenery. After your morning game drive around the crater, you will stop at the picnic area next to Lake Magadi for a snack and rest. One of the draws of Lake Magadi are the hippos that live in the area. You’re sure to enjoy watching them while you eat lunch. Due to the large number of animals and endemic plants, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and renowned for its natural significance in the world.

After breakfast, you will start the safari by being transferred to the central part of the Serengeti, known as Seronera. Here your driver will try to find the animals you're the most interested in. Closer to lunchtime you can visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you will be offered a lunchbox and provided with lots of interesting information not only about the animals’ populations, but also about the history of the National Park. Also, in this area you will be able to see hyraxes, which are the elephant's closest relatives. Alternatively, we also recommend getting back to your camp for a quick lunch and nap before restarting the safari before sunset to enjoy the golden hour. Serengeti wildlife numbers in thousands: elephants, buffalo, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, lions, antelopes, leopards, and cheetahs—just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the nature around you.

Today is your final day in central Serengeti. Each day in the savannah brings new and exciting experiences. The lazy lions of yesterday might be on the prowl, and curious elephants may approach. You might even spot a cheetah atop your safari car! This is also a great opportunity to see the famous Kopjes—picturesque volcanic rock formations that provide excellent photo opportunities as animals rest in their shade. Don't miss Simba Rock, the real-life inspiration for the iconic scene in "The Lion King" where Mufasa presents baby Simba. See the very rock that inspired the beloved cartoon!

Another day to enjoy the vast plains of Serengeti! This park is a huge space, brimming with life. It is impossible to view it all in one day; today, your guide will show you new places and interesting animals, so that you can get a full perspective. The Serengeti is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, chosen because of its important ecosystem, the dense population of animals and the annual Great Migration. Serengeti was the inspiration for Disney’s “Lion King” feature film, but life here is not a cartoon - it is pure, wild and beautiful. By dinner, you'll reach your hotel in Arusha (alternative drop off points are possible upon request).

5.00Had an awesome time visiting Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Sheer number and variety of animals was amazing. Lodges/resorts were very nice. Paschal, our driver/guide was fantastic! Spent 10-11 hours most days while on safari. Company easy to deal with. Reasonable price for the experience we had.

5.00We had the best time in Tanzania with Altezza travel. Hands down the best tour experience. Their planning and execution were absolutely perfect! Before the trip: At every step they checked with what we wanted to do, where we wanted to stay, our dietary preferences and delivered a 100% on all fronts. They were so professional with excellent communications throughout. The entire process was so well organised. Their pick of hotel/ camp/ lodge stays were all amazing. During the trip: We had Altezza's team waiting for us at every step of the way and ahead of time. Their guides were excellent and very professional. Every car we went in was well maintained and felt safe. Our main guide who took us on the safari,Joyful, had over 40 years of experience and could spot animals at all distances, shared so much information about them, and went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. The car had wifi, a mini fridge that was stocked up, wipes, and was spotlessly clean. He was an absolutely delight to spend time with and was so knowledgable. The food arranged for as part of the safari was extremely good and had lot of options. We felt safe and so well taken care of through the entire experience. Post trip: Even post trip Altezza was so helpful as we had some questions about some things and they were extremely responsive and helpful Overall: Highly recommend Altezza. They are professional. helpful, and really care about their customers. We have recommended Altezza to all of our friends and families. 5.00My husband and I did a private 6-day safari in Tanzania with Altezza Travel. Idrisa was our guide, and he was excellent. I cannot say enough good things about him. We went to Tarangire NP, Ngorongoro crater and Central and Northern Serengeti. We learned and saw so much - the big 5: lions, elephants, Cape buffalos, rhinos and leopards to the 5 ugly: hippos, wildebeest, Marabou storks, warthogs, hyenas. We went mid September, and I was afraid that our chances were slim to see the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River - but we started early that day and followed the wildebeest and actually saw the great migration. It was amazing. Idrisa always reviewed what we would do the next day, and worked in our time schedule, and gave us options! He had eyes like a hawk, and was even able to spot an elusive serval cat! We couldn’t have been more pleased. It was the best experience ever.
A wonderful mix of safari and learning the different areas of Tanzania. Each aspect of my trip was perfection.

5.00Maria was incredible! And so patient with me as we worked together planning the whole trip! I was with my husband for safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti then while he climbed Mt Kili I traveled alone to Mafia Island, Zanzibar and Mkomazi. All of the locations I stayed were perfect and beautiful. Altezza was always easy to get ahold of if I had a question. Every detail was communicated and well orchestrated. It was a trip of a lifetime!

5.00I spent wonderful 3.5 weeks in Tanzania! I climbed Kilimanjaro, had a 5-day safari and spent 6 days in Zanzibar. The whole trip was perfectly organized. The best service I had so far! 5.00Thank you Alteeza and our travel agent Mary for organizing a trip of a lifetime. The 5-day safari was just the right amount of time for those of us who can't take too much time off from work. Yes, we were jealous of all the Europeans visitors who had more time off. We were in good hands with our guide, Peter. Not only does he have more than 20 years experience, but it was like attending a master class on African wildlife.He also has mad respect for the wildlife. When we were out on our safari, we saw the number of safari companies available. How does one choose? Alteeza was recommended by a friend of my daughter's and I'm glad we choose it. The accommodations were perfect, from the Gran Melia in Arusha to the lodges and tents in the Serengenti. While, seeing the animals in the natural habitat will forever be one of the best experiences of our lives; we will also remember the welcoming people of Tanzania and the serenity of the sublime Serengiti. P.S. I highly recommend booking a hot air balloon ride in the Serengeti!

5.00My 12 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed a private 5 day Safari with Altezza in April this year. Our guide Stefan was extremely knowledgable and knew exactly where to go to see all of the animals. All accommodation and food provided by Altezza were fantastic. Booking and office support staff only happy to help at every stage too. This really helped to make things run smoothly. Highly recommend Altezza for your Safari experience. Thanks again Altezza

5.00We have chosen farmhouse lodges and tent lodges as accommodations. Equipment and food always at a high level - despite the location - that really overwhelmed us. Hussein led us safely through the national parks and along the "washboard roads". It was clearly noticeable that he likes to travel as a guide and in the Serengeti and he showed us great sites and the exotic wildlife for us. He also liked to share his knowledge about the animals and plants with us. Thanks again to Hussein. Marvin advised us on the selection of accommodation top and built our wishes into the itinerary. Danke Marvin. Start and finish was at Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge. We were also allowed to stay there until noon on the day of departure, until the transfer to the airport.

5.00Our safari tour was well organized with great attention to detail. The lodging choices were authentic and our guide excellent. Tanzania is beautiful and their national parks a gift to the world. Millions of acres set aside to view wildlife as its lived for hundreds and thousands of years. Like going back in time!
