Johnston Canyon
As Banff National Park’s most popular hiking destination, you won’t want to miss Johnston Canyon. Johnston Canyon is carved into the limestone bedrock from thousands of years of water erosion. On this hike, you will be immersed into a beautiful scene of overhanging canyon walls, waterfalls, and lush forest. Every moment at Johnston Canyon is a memory as you explore depths and different perspectives of the beautiful gorge.
There are 7 bridges in Marble Canyon that you can hike on it, walking in a zigzag pattern on the deep limestone canyon and the winding creek below. The canyon is the junction of Tocum Creek and Suzaku River. Fossils of Cambrian soft-bodied creatures millions of years ago were found here, which is quite magnificent.
Banff Town Sign
Enjoy a lunch stop in Banff, where you’ll have free time to relax and explore the charming mountain town. Grab a bite at a local restaurant, stroll along Banff Avenue, or simply take in the beautiful Rocky Mountain views.
Bow Falls
Located 2.7 km from the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is Bow Falls. The astounding scene and the powerful sound of aqua green water crashing over limestone is truly a remarkable experience. The bow falls is a shallow but wide waterfall on the bow river. Several Hollywood films of the 1950s were filmed here! Famous Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe once was swept over the bow falls as they filmed for “River of No Return.”
Surprise Corner
The Surprise corner is named after its spectacular views of the majestic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel that is cozily nestled at the heart of a dense forest with the beautiful Sulphur Mountain as a backdrop. This beautiful scene is elevated with Bow River cascading down into the Bow Falls as a foreground. The magnificent scene at Surprise Corner will make you feel as if you have travelled into a fairytale story.
Lake Minnewanka
Located 15 minutes east of Banff is Lake Minnewanka, the largest and deepest glacial lake in Banff National Park, reaching a depth of 142 meters. Its name comes from the Indian Stoneni family, which means "water spirit.” This stunning aqua blue lake is surrounded by beautiful mountain peaks and unique rocks by the shoreline.
Two Jack Lake
The beautiful and tranquil Two Jack Lake is accessible by a 3.2 km loop trail that is perfect for hikers of all skill levels. In the summer, the two red lounge chairs on the lakeshore contrast with the emerald green lake. The vivid blue lake is backdropped with a stunning mountain and lush forest. It is a very photogenic destination, and it is a trendy place for many photographers and hikers who want to see a vibrant sunset.
Banff Avenue
Convenient drop-off at your hotel in Banff, ensuring a smooth and relaxing end to your day.
The Crossing Resort (Icefields Parkway area)

Explore further by canoeing to the heart of the lake, or go on a hiking adventure that will lead you to a vista giving you a birds eye view of the beautiful Moraine Lake.
If there is only one place you can go while you are in the Canadian Rockies, you must visit Lake Louise. Also named “Jewel of the Rockies,” this world famous turquoise lake draws millions of visitors every year. This gorgeous alpine lake is embellished with Victoria Glacier as the backdrop. The rugged peaks and glaciers behind the lake makes the scenery of the lake seem as if it were a carefully designed painting.
Lunch Stop at Lake Louise Village. There are convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants for you to choose from for lunch.
Emerald Lake
One of the most admired destinations in Yoho National Park is Emerald Lake. This gorgeous emerald coloured lake is a result of the light refracting the deposit of rock flour in the lake. Emerald Lake is surrounded by the President Range that forms a natural amphitheater with towering forested banks. If you look carefully, you might be able to spot some really cool wildlife such as marmots, bald eagle, bears, loons, and the occasional moose!
Stop at the Natural Bridge along the way and admire the Kicking Horse River as it carves a path through ancient rock. You can view the incredible natural formation from different perspectives at vantage points with interpretive displays that tell you about interesting facts about Natural Bridge. This beautiful scenery is enhanced with the scenic mountains and lush forests in the background.

This splendid waterfall is in the foreground of a stunning backdrop of lush forests, and beautiful rocky mountain ranges.
Ride the Jasper SkyTram for a breathtaking journey to the summit of Whistlers Mountain. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, glaciers, and the town of Jasper—an unforgettable alpine experience. Jasper SkyTram - Additional Add on fee

Maligne Lake
Discover the breathtaking beauty of Maligne Lake, one of the top highlights in Jasper National Park. Cruise across its iconic turquoise waters, visit the world-famous Spirit Island, and soak in unforgettable mountain views. A must-see experience and one of the most photogenic stops in the Canadian Rockies. Enhance your visit with the optional 100-minute Maligne Lake Cruise ( Optional Add-on activity), a relaxing journey across turquoise waters to the iconic Spirit Island. This optional add-on is a perfect way to capture stunning mountain views and create unforgettable memories in Jasper National Park.
Medicine Lake, also known as “the lake that disappears” is located 20 km southeast of the town of Jasper. Medicine lake is a 7 km long narrow lake that is formed by the Maligne River. Interesting enough, the lake loses water as it flows. Why is that you may ask? When the water is on its way to merge with the Athabasca river, it reaches the medicine lake area, and pools up to form the Lake over the largest inaccessible limestone cave system.
Jasper
Evening Return to Jasper in the evening and check in to your hotel. Enjoy time to rest and unwind, surrounded by the quiet beauty of Jasper National Park.
Jasper
Morning After breakfast, depart from Jasper for the final day of your Rockies journey.
Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre
Columbia Icefield, one of North America’s largest icefields. Guests may choose to join optional experiences (approx. 180 minutes total), including the Ice Explorer, which travels directly onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier, and the Columbia Icefield Skywalk, a glass-floored platform suspended 280 metres above the Sunwapta Valley. Optional Add-on activity: Columbia Icefield Explorer & Columbia Icefield Skywalk
Located along the Icefields Parkway, approximately 40km north of Lake Louise is the vibrant glacier-fed lake, Peyto Lake. The lake is nestled in majestic mountain ranges which lie on each of its sides. This jaw dropping view is the best reward for an intense scrambling hike. The scenery on the viewpoint looks as if it is a carefully painted piece of art. Peyto Lake’s beauty is comparable with the famous Moraine Lake without as many crowds.
Bow Lake
Bow Lake is a stop you will not regret taking while you are travelling across Icefield Parkway. When the lake thaws in the summer, it becomes a vivid blue colour from the glacier melt of the Crowfoot Glacier. Speaking of the Crowfoot Glacier, the Bow Lake is also the perfect place to view the Crowfoot Glacier, Wapta Icefield, bow glacier, crowfoot mountain and Mount Thompson. It really seems like the ultimate all in one package!

- the hotel we stayed in Banff was excellent, the kids loved it! - Icefield was the best part of the trip but Westar made a mistake and shorten the staying time in the icefield. We decided we would go there by ourselves to stay a little bit longer for future trip. One incident making the whole day worse though. I have planned the trip a month earlier just to make sure everything goes smooth because i have two kids with me. However, on the day of the trip, Tour guy said we did not have any booking on tickets which was impossible because i have paid everything in advance. They told us to buy the tickets first and they will refund the money back afterwards. Spending the time lining up buying the tickets which only left us 15min to buy and eat lunches with 3 and 5 year old kids. Tour guy set the back to bus time as 4pm, however the bus leave icefield at 3:30pm and whole bus dropped off at skywalk around 3:50??? We were anxious as we did not want the whole bus waiting for us. When we were dropped off, we quickly ran back to the bus lining up to go back which was a bit long as it is one way only. Kids and parents were very tiring. Not a good experience as I paid to go to tours to want myself more relax. lol when we arrive back at the center it was already 4:20ish. Back to Calgary it was almost 8pm on that day. Nice thing about the tour is no worrying where to park, where to eat, booking the hotel, just get on and off the bus. But after this experience, i would rather take more time to book and go by ourselves as it is more flexible and relaxing. After the trip, we wanted to refund the amount we pay. They only refund the amount we paid in the package (which when we brought it upfront was much expensive). The company said they have a net loss on this because they refund us that amount of money and ask me to do a flavor to take the loss myself because i had the skywalk which i did not even take time to look at. I think it was unacceptable. They never refund other parts back or apologize on the mistake on "forget to book my icefield tickets". Sorry for writing so much bs, just wanted to express my trip experience. Columbia Icefield is a MUSTGO if you have kids, they were super excited when they were there.

I couldn’t stop taking photos of the beautiful Mountain View’s, Athabaca glacier, roaring falls and turquoise glacier fed lakes. Whether you want to walk along the cliffs edge of glass bottom bridge, cruise Maligne Lake or jump on a glacier or just sit on the observation deck with beauty all around you, this tour is for you. Our guide Simon was great, guides are great photographers which was a perk since I was solo.

I chose the Banff-Jasper route in September. There were countless beautiful views along the way. The overall itinerary was relaxed and there was no sense of urgency like in previous trips. Here I would like to thank our driver Mr. Wang and tour guide Lisa Rong. The driver was very familiar with the route and controlled the road conditions very well. In addition, his etiquette between drivers and some micro-handling of the car while driving showed his very professional professionalism. Tour guide Lisa Rong was very cheerful and good at speaking. She had very strong professional ability and explained the attractions and related historical anecdotes in detail. At the same time, the arrangement of each day made me and my family feel very at ease. The introduction of the restaurant was very accurate to avoid stepping on thunder, which can keep the good mood going. Choosing westar travel and choosing Lisa Rong was the best thing I did on this trip. If I made the right choice, the next journey will be smooth.

It was a very fulfilling two-day trip! Tour guide Lisa was meticulous and attentive, and provided good service. She explained the precautions clearly before each attraction, so that we would not make mistakes. Before the end of the trip, she also confirmed the arrangements for the next day's itinerary.

The two-day trip was amazing. The Columbia Icefields was my favourite place. And I want to recommend Westar travel and my tour guide Lisa to every one Lisa Rong is a very experienced bilingual tour guider. She introduced a lot of stories and histories of the famous attractions and geological knowledge behind the amazing scene. She is an organized person and our trip was planned very reasonable. We did not get bored nor feel pushed. Everyone was instructed clearly so our trip is on time and nothing unexpected happened. She is good at taking photos and helped us take a lot of good photos with attractions. She also introduce a lot of restaurants to us on the bus at the end of one day.
