Addis Ababa – Arba Minch flights On the first day of the Omo valley tour, we will have flight from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch. Then, our driver will pick us form the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After a short break drive to Dorze. The Dorze people are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving. You will visit the village and learn about the daily lives of these industrious people. On this day you will also visit the local market of Dorze village if the day is market day. Overnight in Dorze within traditional hut or in Arba Minch (hotel).

Arba minch – Turmi On the second day of the tour, we will wake up early morning and have breakfast and drive to Konso to have lunch and a short break before visiting Konso Village. In the village we will visit one of the 9 UNESCO registered villages. neverthless, the Konso people are known for the erection of stones and poles called generation pole (where a pole implies 18 years) marking the start of a new generation. The age of village can be determined by how many poles are standing. Next, we will drive to Turmi for the night. Overnight Turm Lodge

Turmi Early in the morning after your breakfast drive to Karo Village. Karo’s are a small clan with an estimated population of 3000 who live along the east banks of the Omo River. The Karo’s known by their beautiful village and their kid’s panting the faces and body. Meanwhile, we will drive back to Turmi to have lunch and a short break. After lunch, visit Hamer people. Most importantly visit the most unique but seasonal event of bull jumping. Bull jumping is a ceremony where a boy is pronounced “man” after proving his capacity by jump 5 up to 13 cattle’s standing in a row. In addition, this day includes a special event in which a woman shows her appreciation for the bride groom by letting the boys whip them with a stick until they bleed. At night, the day is called off after a colorful party with Evan Gady dance (night dance). Meanwhile if there will not be bull jumping, you will visit Hamer village in the afternoon. Overnight in Turmi (Lodge).

Turmi – Jinka On this day early morning after breakfast, we will drive to Dessanch tribe. Known for their attention to appearance, the Karo have extraordinary body and face painting rituals where they use colored ochre, white chalk, yellow mineral rock and other natural resources to paint themselves. Designs vary in content, from simple lines, dots and shapes to animal motifs and handprints. Men use clay to create elaborate hairstyles and headdresses that signify status, beauty and bravery. Male and female scarification also is a common practice both for its symbolism and aesthetic beauty. Next, we will drive back to Turmi for lunch and later visit the local market if the day market day. Overnight Jinka (NASA Hotel)

Jinka-Mago National Park-Mursi Tribes and fly back Addis Ababa n early morning of the day, we drive from Turmi to Jinka through the Mago National Park to a local village of the Mursi kin group. The Mursi people are known for making and wearing lower lip and earlobe plates. drive back to Jinka and have lunch fly back to Addis Ababa. End of the tour! 5.00I wanted to write a review about my five day Omo Valley tour that I did with Enat Tours. Achenef (Ashu) was my guide. I went solo on this tour with him and a private driver. I felt totally safe and comfortable the entire time. For inexperienced travelers, this is a great experience to go see things that most people have never seen with an experienced guide, but be prepared it is not like traveling in other places. Plan to have limited food and lodging options, you are in the middle of nowhere for 5 days. It’s 100% worth it though, I promise. The villages and the tribes were worth ever seconds of “roughing it”. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to take a glimpse into the world that few will ever see. This region is set back in time, hundreds of years. I was the only foreigner I saw for five days. Most of the children had never seen anybody that looked like me before. It was truly a life changing experience.

5.00A great lifetime experience to Omo Valley with Enat Tours! From the beginning and throughout the trip, everything was perfect and amazing. Ashu was always in contact, making sure all went smoothly. His guide and our driver Roble were both fabulous! We visited the Ari village, Banna tribe, Mursi, Hamar, Karo, Nyangatom, Dassanach, Konso, Lake Chamo, and Dorze villages. Every part of the trip was unique and unforgettable. 5.00This tour was exceptionally well-organized, and we had an unforgettable experience thanks to our guide, Ashu and our driver Biruk. It's hard to encapsulate the magic of a 9-day adventure in just a few paragraphs, but if you’re a photographer or an adventurer, this trip is an absolute must. Ashu was not only a fantastic guide but also an incredible cook, taking care of us with professionalism while ensuring we had the best possible experiences as photographers. Some of the highlights included visiting the Suri (Surma) tribe and working with KoKo, our local handler, to capture stunning photographs of their way of life. We were also fortunate enough to witness a cow letting ceremony, which was a fantastic bonus to the cultural immersion. Another unforgettable experience was attending a Hamar Bull Jumping ceremony—something I had never seen before despite being well-traveled. It was a remarkable display of tradition and bravery. The accommodations were excellent throughout, and while we camped at a few tribe visits, we were always comfortable, well-fed, and felt completely safe. If you're considering this trip and love adventure travel, don’t hesitate—it will be an experience you’ll never forget.

5.00My 5-day solo trip to the Omo Valley with Enat Ethiopia Tours was unforgettable. Ashu was an excellent guide, and my driver Biruk was not only professional but also incredibly warm and friendly. The highlight of my journey was witnessing the rare Erbore tribe ceremony, a once-in-a-lifetime event that only happens every 40 years. It marks the peaceful transition of power from the elders to the youth, after a successful harvest, and is led entirely by men. If you're planning to visit Ethiopia, Enat Tours is the way to go!

5.00We had an incredible 5-day tour in the Omo Valley with Ashu and our driver Biruke! Each day was filled with unforgettable highlights. On the first day, we visited Dorze village, where we saw the unique elephant-inspired huts and learned about the process of making false banana products. The hospitality of the locals was amazing, and I was invited to join in for four rounds of araki (local liquor). I had to sneakily get out of a few rounds, as they’re very serious about the empty-glass rule! On the second day, we explored Konso village, met the Benna tribe kids who play on stilts by the road, and wandered through the vibrant local market. Day three brought us to Karo village, where the stunning views of the Omo River were breathtaking. The villagers, known for their incredible body painting, were so friendly and creative. Day four took us on a hike to Ari village a serene, green escape into nature. On our final day, we visited the Mursi village, where we learned that wearing lip plates is becoming less common among the younger generation. Our trip was made even better when we had to extend our stay due to a last-minute flight change. During those unexpected hours, Ashu kept us entertained with games and laughter, ensuring we were always having a great time. He was not only a fantastic guide but also incredibly kind, attentive, and thoughtful. I highly recommend Ashu and Enat Ethiopia Tours to anyone looking to explore Ethiopia,it was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to guide us!

5.00I had an unforgettable photography tour to the Omo Valley with Enat Ethiopia Tours, and everything was perfectly organized. The team was exceptional! My guide, Danile, was fantastic,so knowledgeable and friendly, and my driver, Tameru, was professional and skilled. Ashu was incredibly attentive, checking in daily to ensure everything was going smoothly for me as a solo female traveler. He went above and beyond to make sure I was having an enjoyable and safe experience. The highlight of my trip was a special invitation to a traditional Ethiopian restaurant where I got to experience live Ethiopian music and folklore, an incredibly unique and beautiful experience. The visit to the tribes of the Omo Valley was fascinating, but this cultural immersion really added something special to my journey. I highly recommend Enat Ethiopia Tours for anyone looking to visit the Omo Valley or explore Ethiopia—such a wonderful, dedicated team!
