  Firstly - your guides were excellent. Extremely knowledgable and friendly, and showed great care for the ecosystem especially on their eagle feeding policies. Second - the tour was fun and showed an in depth look into the mangroves. Our guide helped us spot species we’d never seen before including a changeable hawk eagle, a white Bellied sea eagle, and a crested serpent eagle. Third - the kayaking was great (you need a basic standard of fitness if you do it when the sun is high though it’s tiring) and being plenty of sun protection. Food was great too - pick up was easy (our hotel wasn’t listed so called before to make sure it was ok)

  

  

  

• Serenity in mangrove forest

  Really enjoyed the kayaking inside mangrove forest. Enjoyed the serenity, sound of winds and birds while going through the mangrove. We saw a snake and crab, and a family of otters around the floating restaurant. The guide Wafiq was kind and knowledgeable. I could feel his genuine passion for nature and Wildlife. It was one of my highlights of Langkawi stay!

  The operator Fauna Flora Eco Tour provides this and other tours, focused on the appreciation and protection of local environment. Even our hotel was not on the list , the driver picked us up and delivered to the starting point of the tour. The tour is combination of power boat excursion and kayaking. While we have sacrificed to see the area from the ocean side, we were rewarded d by quiet kayaking on the mangrove forest seeking, monkeys, and eagles from up close.   I found the 5-hour boat trip including lunch great! The organization was top from start to finish, very fun and informative tour guide and mega delicious lunch. The speedboat was great and I especially liked the nature and the many animals we saw. Again, a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Fauzan, you were top and very humorous :)

  Really fun way to get to feel immersed in nature! I highly recommend the kayak tour versus the boating tour if you are able. You can get deeper into the more narrow part of the mangroves and get to see things up close. We saw some very fun wildlife including a surprise visit from a group of otters. The land portion was also very cool and seeing the bats in the caves was surreal. The guides were all very knowledgable and I learned a lot about the local wildlife. If you are doing the kayak tour, I also highly recommend sunscreen or covering up, as you will be in the direct sun at mid-day for a decent portion of the trip.

  This was a wonderful tour, very informative and physical! Our guide was very helpful and very knowledgeable regarding the wildlife and mangrove forest! Would recommend highly. Our small group of five people were very lucky to have this young man to guide us! I only wish I could remember his name!

  There are dozens of operators and many dozens of boats doing similar tours in the Kilim wildlife/ mangrove business. Our tour booked via Booking.com was operated by Fauna Flora Eco Sdn. Bhd, and was excellent. We found that the company follow ecological guidelines of not feeding the monkeys or eagles (enough other boats were feeding them that we didn't need to), and respecting all the animals and vegetation. Our operator required the wearing of life jackets only when on the open water part of the trip, which greatly increased comfort (in most of the narrow river you can stand up). Picked up on time, well organised on arrival at the jetty, guide Qafyl (call me Waffle) was excellent and took good care of all the guests on the boat, and provided excellent commentary and information, including on the monkeys and eagles, and various sea life. A second guide with our boat gave an excellent talk on geology and botany in the Bat Cave - and 'took in hand' a tour group following ours into the cave - 'This is the bat's home and they are asleep. If you can't stop shouting, get out'. Most of that group then followed ours to listen to the superior information being provided by our guide. The first stop at the Floating Restaurant included a lecture on the various fish and horseshoe crabs held there awaiting release. Lunch at the second arrival at the Floating Restaurant as provided was reasonable in quantity and quality, with attention paid to spice tolerance, allergies etc, with the option to purchase alternatives, and ample time to eat with no rush (just prior to the end of the tour). And lots of lemon cordial to drink. It was hot and humid, with little breeze. Take lots of water with you - we took 1.5 litres of water per person, and drank it all.
