  We decided to do something different in our stop in Riga for our cruise. When we were offered the opportunity to visit the hill of crosses we decided to go. It was a bit of a drive but our driver/tour guide made it go by quickly. He was very informative and proud of his country. He told us the history and legend of the hill of crosses before letting us have a little time to explore on our own. Then we made a quick stop at the Latvia and Lithuania border for some pictures. We then stopped in Jelgava to see a few sites, including the Jelgava Palace which is now a University. By the time we got back to Riga, we didn’t have much time to see the old town area but our guide drove us through a few areas on the way back to the ship.

  I had an excellent experience with this tour company when visiting the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania. They were very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful throughout the trip. The guide was friendly and willing to share interesting insights about the history and significance of the site. They also allowed us plenty of time to take pictures, which I really appreciated.   Very interesting, Yannis had a lot to tell us throughout the journey to the hill of crosses. Impressive and emotional place. Definitely worth it.

  Fantastic experience with our guide Viesturs - was very happy to answer our questions. The hill of crosses was interesting, Viesturs also offered other stops if we were interested in them which was nice. It is 1hr30-1hr40 in one direction on a very straight, uninteresting road, but Viesturs kept up entertained throughout.

  I had an amazing experience with Krista (our tour guide). She was very knowledgeable, humorous and easy to communicate with. She took great care of the group and kept telling us interesting stories about all the locations. She offered us some sweets as well. Great experience overall.

  We were so lucky to have Krista as our guide/ driver on our visit to the Hill of Crosses in Lithuania. Her communication before the trip was very helpful, reminding us of our meeting time/ location and to not forget passports as we would be crossing the border from Latvia to Lithuania. On the day, she provided us with bottles of water and sweets and made sure we were comfortable with air-con. Her English was perfect and as well as history and information about the Balkans she entertained us with personal anecdotes along the way. We stopped for refreshments and a bathroom break and stopped briefly at the Lithuania border to take photos The Hill of Crosses was an amazing site, not as high as I was expecting but covered with tens of thousands of crosses, rosaries and religious artefacts. There were stalls where you could purchase various sizes of crosses or other items and a souvenir shop and toilets at the site. There is a short level walk from the car park to the site. On our return journey Krista drove through Jelgava to show us some of the sights there and we had an opportunity to take photos.   I had an amazing day trip to the Hill of Crosses from Riga! The tour guide, Jānis, was fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and really went out of his way to make the experience great. He shared a lot of interesting history along the way and even stopped at the Latvia–Lithuania border, which was such a cool bonus! Jānis also offered to take photos, which was really thoughtful and made the trip even more memorable. The Hill of Crosses itself is such a unique and powerful place—definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Riga!

  Janis was an excellent guide. Very informative, comfortable travel, Consideration to our requirements. Giving a lot of explanations to Latvia and Lithuanian life. Great fun to listen to his childhood. Gave us a great understanding of life in Latvia.

  We ended up with a private tour and had a pick up from our hotel with choice of time. Great communication from Krista. Our driver Jānis arrived on time and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He pointed out areas and sights of interest and he found out the answers to any of our questions he was unsure of. We had an enjoyable day exploring the Hill of Crosses from Riga. He offered us the local drink and Latvian chocolate, as well of bottles of water.
