I had the most incredible time on the 6 day Ring Road tour! Our tour guide, Thales, was amazing. The trip was thought out very well and well-timed. Every part of the island is stunning! It was a great balance of sight-seeing, activities and relaxing. Would recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience everything Iceland has to offer in just a few days!

Wanted to self drive in Iceland but chance upon this 6 days tour from Guide to Iceland that will cover the full ring road. Considering the road condition and all, so glad that we eventually embark on our adventure with John, our tour guide. He is very friendly, knowledgeable and provides lots of recommendations and interesting insights about Iceland. Not forgetting the amazing group too that helps to take beautiful photo. Highly recommend John for those who want to explore Iceland!

First time in Iceland and our first time embarking on a multi day tour. Upon meeting John, we knew our 6 days journey will be filled with happiness and adventures. It was truly a delight to have John as our tour guide, bringing us around, to see the beautiful Iceland through his eyes, as well as learning more about Iceland, geographically. He always allow ample time for each scenic, allowing us to truly enjoy the breathtaking views. Despite the road conditions, he made an extra effort to ensure our well being, not forgetting to make additional stops that we should never miss. In short, these 6 days have been nothing short of amazing, making goodbye even harder. Thank you, John!

This trip was so much more than I ever expected or could have hoped for! The online itinerary is just the tip of the iceberg. Our guide, Thales, was personable, fun, knowledgeable, and an incredible driver in some of the worst driving conditions I’ve ever seen (and I’m from New England). He also went above and beyond to stop at lots of “extras” – waterfalls off the beaten path, scenic overlooks, a glacial lake as blue as the Caribbean. The country is full of beautiful natural wonders. Sure, the Golden Circle is impressive. And for many visitors, that’s enough. But if you really want to experience Iceland, take this tour and get away from Reykjavik and the touristy spots. If you’ve never tried skyr, watched the northern lights dance through the sky, seen a rainbow while hiking on a glacier, seen reindeer in the wild, eaten licorice ice cream, driven through a tunnel 6km long, relaxed in a natural hot spring, spent an hour watching a whale in a fjord, walked through a glacial cave, straddled a tectonic split, experienced rain/snow/hail/sleet/sun/wind in the same day, and gotten to know 15 other travelers from all over the world, you don’t know what you’re missing. We all read reviews to get the inside scoop, so here’s the other stuff you might want to know. 1) Food is expensive in restaurants. Like $40 for a burger with no sides. Breakfast is included every day, and most days we stopped at a grocery store for lunch. It seemed weird the first day, but it was much more affordable than restaurants and they have better options than I expected. Bring snacks with you. 2) Layered clothing and comfortable, light-weight, warm boots are a must! We’d ride for an hour in the van (warm), then stop somewhere for a few minutes or a few hours depending on the stop (cold, windy, snowy), then back in the van again. We walked an average of 5 miles a day, and almost all of it was over natural terrain – lava, rocky hills, packed-snow trails. Sneakers won’t cut it. 3) Respect your guide. If he says meet at 8am, be ready at 7:55. If he says you have a 30 minute stop, check your watch. Staying on time allows the guide to squeeze in extra stops and make the experience even more special. Iceland is a place I never thought I’d want to visit, but I know I’ll never forget. Mother Nature gets a lot of the credit, but Thales and the 6-day Troll tour are the only reason I got to experience as much of her beauty and wonder as I did.

This tour was absolutely amazing in every aspect from the amazing sites and activities, comfortable accommodations, the diversity of our fellow travellers and mostly our incredible guide John. His knowledge, organizational skills, sense of humor and passion gave us a glimpse of this beautiful other worldly land “ through his eyes”. We have been all around the world with various tour companies and this one stands out as one of our favorites. Highly recommended.

One of the most incredible trips we have ever been on. We have travelled all around the world and this one is definitely up there as one of our favorites. John our guide was excellent. Funny, personable, knowledgeable and so passionate about showing us Iceland “through his eyes”. We were so thrilled to be travelling with “like-minded” adventurers despite our diverse places of origin as well as age. We have made lifelong friends on this journey. Our whale watching tour was unfortunately cancelled due to inclement weather but John added extra stops to make up for this on our drive back to Reykjavík. Thank you John and Troll for these unforgettable memories.

Our Guide Rocky provided us a great adventure by showing us the beauty and culture of Iceland by telling stories and using music to enhance the experience. He allowed us to make frequent stops which made the day go quickly. He was right on spot for all the recommendations for food. I have never eaten so good on a trip. He organized the day where we visited places before other large groups showed up. He also allowed us adequate time at each spot. He has a deep love for his country and he passed that on to us. We plan to come back and visit in the “not winter” time and see more of Iceland. We plan to use Troll again and hope to see Rocky again.

I recently participated in a 6-day journey around Iceland's Ring Road in February, and it was an unforgettable experience! A key highlight was our fantastic guide, Rocky. Rocky is not just a guide; he’s also our DJ! Everyone loved his curated playlist, which added a vibrant soundtrack to our travels. His music choices kept the energy high and made the long drives even more enjoyable. In addition to his musical talents, Rocky is incredibly caring and attentive. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey. His excellent time management skills ensured that we maximized our experience while also having plenty of time to relax and explore. This trip was beyond amazing, and I am truly grateful to Rocky for making the experience so memorable. It's a journey that I will treasure forever.
