  Honestly, one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had.. The Sukia team are the epitome of professional — this adventure was perfectly curated and worth every cent. Every activity was engaging, informative, and truly memorable. Big, big thank you to Bryan and Andrè - they brought the perfect balance of expertise, enthusiasm, and genuine care to the entire experience. The family-style meals were amazing, and there was plenty of free time to relax and enjoy beautiful Drake Bay. I couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable adventure. Gracias Sukia, pura vida!

• Fantastic adventures and wildlife

  We are a family of 4 with a 11 year old and 9 year old and loved our 6 day adventure. We were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm of all of the guides. They all had a deep understanding of the Osa Penisular’s biodiversity and its animals. All were happy to answer all our questions and gave us lots of information. Everything was well organised and we had such amazing adventures with the Sukia team. We managed to see lots of animals including tapiers, snakes, crocodiles, all monkeys, turtles, whales, reef sharks and many more. Stayed at Sukia lodge and all transport was arranged and ran smoothly - all breakfasts and lunches were provided and were really good. We had the family room it was quite basic (no air con) but very spacious with its own separate bedrooms and bathroom. It was 10 minutes walk from the Drake beachfront and was surrounded by jungle. Most tours started early and were finished early afternoon so we had opportunities to explore Drake, the Drake trail and local beaches. The children could participate in all the activities, including canyoning where the guides were super helpful. All activities were in small groups, suited to the activity and only on the mangrove tour did we have a mixed group of Spanish and English speakers. We really enjoyed the mixture of animal spotting and adventure. We would recommend not bringing too much stuff with you and leave anything you can in Sierpe. We did the tour in the rainy season and found it easiest to wear the same “wet” clothes and shoes each day as things got soaking wet anyway. We had a dry-bag and that was very useful. Highly recommend this experience.

  

  

  

• Sukia and the Osa Adventure

  I'm so glad we included the Osa peninsula as part of our trip to Costa Rica. The wildlife was spectacular. One of the best parts was the guides, for example Ricardo, Emilio, and Daniel but also the guide and boat drive for the Mangrove Tour. The interest in conservation and love for nature are genuine -- it doesn't feel like it is just about giving the tourists good experiences and photos, but also sharing a passion for our natural world. The mix of activities on the 6 day Sukia tour would have been challenging for us to arrange on our own. We're glad we booked with them.

  Ricardo, our Sukia guide for the Corcovado overnight tour, was fantastic. Osa is remote and beautiful. Visiting this area is a great opportunity to get into beautiful Costa Rican primary and secondary forests but also to see and learn so much about animals, birds, plants, ecosystems, and the importance of conservation. Ricardo's explanations were clear, detailed, and clearly coming from both his brain and his heart. His English is great. Also the life he and the other guides have chosen, their serious approach to learning about nature, is really inspirational.

  What a wonderful experience was our 6 days experience with Sukia travel. From the night tour on our first night to the mangrove exploration and drop off in Sierpe, we only have good memories. Our visit to La Sirena spotting all the animals and the hike to San Pedrillo was so nice. We even love the mud now and want to sincerely thank Evaristo for his help and kind guidance. The nature is truly something special around this area and we hope it will stay this way. Besides the beautiful nature we cannot say enough nice things about the group of professional guides of Sukia. They really made our experience and we learned so much of them!   SUKIA In Drake Bay was nothing short of incredible! From the very first day we arrived, we were struck by the personal connections we made with the guides, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for and relaxed. They truly handled everything so seamlessly that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing, allowing us to focus entirely on enjoying our adventure. And there is a lot of adventure! The food was a highlight of the trip. Every meal was deliciouso, and we appreciated that dinner wasn’t included most nights, giving us the chance to explore the local cuisine. It was the perfect balance of guided experience and independent exploration. We had most afternoons and evenings to ourselves to unwind. The activities were well-planned and engaging. The whole thing really captured the natural beauty and thrill of Drake Bay as we saw something new and exciting everyday. So much wildlife! A small note of caution: the 6-day tour can be a bit strenuous due to the high-adventure days(they are worth it!) so planning a rest day in between might be a good idea. A special shoutout to David, the owner, who took us to a location that felt truly special, like a personal gift just for us. It was a moment we’ll never forget. And we cannot praise Danny and Ricardo enough; they are amazing guides whose passion and expertise made our trip even more memorable. We flew directly to Drake Bay and spent all of our time here. We are so happy we took this tour and didn't feel like we missed out on anything in other places of CR as we heard of other places from the people we met.   Very good support at all times through WhatsApp communication with the agency. They announced the night before the details of the next day's tour. Quick response to any query and we felt accompanied and guided. The tours are super well structured with departures, stops, lunches, pick-ups and duration of walks and others, very well put together and coordinated. Very punctual and polite. The guides were extremely professional, knowledgeable about their routes and the information they had about the flora and fauna, they were very patient in returning to see the whales or whatever caught our attention.

  What an incredible week we’ve just spent with Sukia. Our standard 6 day package included, snorkelling at isla del Caño where the fish, turtles and humpbacks really showed off for us, 2 days and 1 night in the Corcovado with André, where we saw more wildlife than we could ever have hoped for and enjoyed quite a challenging hike through pristine rainforest to a hidden gem of a waterfall. Then with Emilio a nocturnal walk through a river in Drake Bay to see all sorts of invertebrates, snakes and frogs, canyoning in the stunning Tamandua reserve and its river of many pretty waterfalls and lastly a boat tour of the mangroves near Sierpe during which we saw pretty much everything we had hoped to see and more. Emilio and André were very friendly and most importantly knowledgable and enthusiastic about the wildlife and habitat, they really made us feel like they cared about our experience and as a zoologist my thirst for animal information was sated. Pura Vida to you both! As advice to anyone looking, we found that it wasn’t entirely clear what was included in the price in terms of accommodation and meals, so be aware that unless you select an accomodation option when checking out (which adds to the standard cost) you will only have one night included on the 6 day experience. But rest assured that Sukia offer lodging options at a reasonable rate, although we did manage to do it more affordably on our own with the wide variety of options in Drake. Meal-wise we got, 1 breakfast, 4 lunches and 1 dinner included, so once again you will have to find food on your own budget for the rest, but Drake Bay offers loads of options for this too. We especially recommend Claudio’s for a special occasion and a view of the bay, and Marea alta for very affordable, good quality food with a forest setting. Otherwise, remember to get enough cash for your stay before you go past Palmar Norte, as getting any while in Drake or Sierpe is impossible, but most things other than some hostels and laundry can be paid by card. And bear in mind that if you go in the rainy season you are going to get soaked repeatedly and there’s no avoiding it, so come prepared, it’s part of the charm!   Absolutely INCREDIBLE. I have done a separate review for the canyoning with Emilio- it was epic fun and highly recommended. We (family of 4) did the two day and three night walking tour of Corcovada. The wildlife and scenery were breathtaking and we would definitely go and do it again if the opportunity arose. The first night in La Serena station was hot but otherwise as expected. We loved waking up to the Howler monkey alarm clock! The food and facilities were all fine. The second night in Green Paradise was brilliant - was a relaxing and beautiful spot. Loved it. The walking (about 35km over 3 days) was paced well and through magnificent primary and secondary forest. The thing that made the trip was undoubtedly the quality of our guide - Ricardo (Richie)- that man knew EVERYTHING about the flora and fauna but even more impressive was how he was able to give us such great context to all of that knowledge. The children learnt so so much. He was great with the kids- encouraging and inspiring them to engage in their surroundings and to understand the role of each thing in the ecosystem.
