This 6-day trip is perfect if you have limited time in Morocco and want to see the highlights while immersing yourself in Deep Moroccan culture and landscapes. We will take you through the Roman ruins of Volubilis the imperial cities of Rabat and Meknes, and the medieval medinas of Fes and Marrakesh. and will drive you through the Middle Atlas Mountains and venture into the Sahara Desert to experience Berbert sub-Saharan life. will Head north to the capital city of Rabat. we will Explore the medieval fortification of the Kasbah des Oudaias. Next will visit the Hassan Tower, a minaret of the incomplete mosque, and the Mausoleum of Mohamad V, Then will Continue to Meknes
Meknes Medina
When we get to Meknes will start exploring the Ville Impériale (imperial city) of Meknes starting by the impressive gate of Bab al-Mansour, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail. and the Royal Stables. Many of these palaces were constructed with materials taken from Volubilis, so be on the lookout for Roman columns hidden in unexpected places!
Volubilis
then step off to the nearby Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and a sprawling complex worth wandering. Marvel at the merchant homes, temples, and colorful mosaics in situ, including the Labors of Hercules. after Volubilis, will set off for Fes, Overnight in a traditional riad in the old Medina, Spend the night in a beautiful riad in the old town where you can enjoy the local specialties.

After breakfast, Meet our local guide and spend a half day learning about the history and culture as you navigate the winding, narrow streets of the medinas. Fes is the oldest of the 4 imperial cities in Morocco and perhaps the most interesting and exciting to explore. It has the most complete medina in Morocco Often considered the country's cultural capital, it's made up of three parts: two medina quarters, Fes el Bali and Fes el Jdid, will start by 13th century Fes el Jdid to check out the Mellah (old Jewish quarter and cemetery) and take advantage of its location for a panoramic photo of the city.
Chouara Tannery
then Visit the 11th-century Chouara Tannery and find a nearby leather shop for an encompassing overview. and Browse the many souks (markets) offering local goods and watch the artisans at work. and visit the Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and catch a glimpse of the beautifully decorated interior. Its university is the oldest still operating university in the world! Immerse yourself in the Al Attarine Madrasa and marvel at the detailed zellij tilework and woodwork. after the visit of Medina, Stop in at a local restaurant to sample some Moroccan cuisine before returning to your riad for the night
Erg Chebbi
After embarking on a relaxed camel journey across rolling dunes. Your camel caravan will lead to your luxury desert campsite at The White Camel just in time to witness the sunset. Once settled into your exquisitely adorned tent, complete with air-conditioning, en suite bathroom, and top-tier amenities, venture up to the nearest dune to witness the desert landscape change colors as the sun descends. As twilight sets in, return to the camp for dinner accompanied by traditional Berber music, and settle in for a night beneath the stars.

Get an early start today, as you'll be covering a lot of ground. After breakfast, meet your driver-guide. and will travel south toward Merzouga to arrive at the Sahara dunes for a sunset camel ride. Along the way, will drive through the town of Ifrane and climb an elevation of 7,146 feet (2,178 m) over the Col du Zad pass and through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas mountains. Here you can enjoy sightings of the local Barbary monkeys before stopping for lunch in Midelt (the "apple city")
Macro Fossiles Kasbah
After Lunch in the town, will Continue over the Tizi n'Talremt pass and into the Ziz Valley, known for its hidden oases and palm tree clusters. Along the road, you'll see many fortified houses known as ksars—built by merchants to protect precious wares, including gold, salt, and spices. will continue to Erfoud, a bustling market town known for its date festival and famous for its fossil mining and artisan factories. En route, you can see hillside mines where large rocks are taken from the earth. While in town, stop at a local artisan collective where you can learn about the types of fossils found in the area and see the full process of how the fossil-rich rock is transformed into beautiful objects. Soon, you'll see the sand waves of Erg Chebbi, an extensive sea of dunes covering an area of 13.5 square miles (35 sq km). Never stationary, the massive dunes shift and travel depending on the changing wind
Merzouga Desert
Near Merzouga, you will take a short break and switch gears to ride a camel through the dunes to Berber camp, Camle man will stop by a nearby sand dune to watch the sunset before getting to your Berber tent in camp for a delicious dinner, relaxing by the campfire. Enjoy an evening of Berber music followed by a night in a Noomadic-style tent under an expansive night sky chock-full of unhindered twinkling stars

Discover Todra Gorge with Locals - Tourist Information & Experience Center
You'll continue to Tinghir, with its panoramic views and fascinating Jewish quarter, and then to the striking Todra Gorge with its 984-foot (300 m) high red-stained limestone cliffs. Take an easy walk or paddle in the cool water before you hit the road again and pass through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs (historic defense fortresses). You'll pass through several small towns around here; be on the lookout for nomads tending to their animals, and traditional farms

Today, we travel to El Kalaa Mgou'na or Rose town where over 400 tonnes of rose petals are picked every spring to be processed into rosewater or exported to perfume Industries. The festival of roses is held here every May As we travel from Rose town to Skoura you will see so many kasbahs among the greenery of Dades valley. The small town of Skoura Is surrounded by thousands of palm groves and the most beautiful kasbahs in southern Morocco are to be found here
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou
will continue our journey to Ouarzazate Hollywood of Africa -with the biggest cinema studios in Morocco-, then to the most famous, filmed and photographed kasbah of Ait Benhaddou — A Unesco World Heritage site — We'll have free time to visit it and have lunch in the village. After, we head to Marrakesh via the high Atlas Mountains (2260 ), admiring the impressive mountainous views and special Berber villages on the mountain's sides. Arrive in Marrakesh in the evening

5.00I took a private trip from Casablanca to Marrakech and had such a lovely time! My driver picked me up at the airport and drove me on my full Moroccan adventure, which was an absolute treat. He was kind, funny, and an expert guide. He showed me gorgeous sights not listed on the itinerary, and taught me so much about the land, the people and the history. The scenery was absolutely beautiful – quaint little villages and charming streets to explore. Every hotel was flawless, some of the best I have ever stayed in. The riad was a luxurious location with everything you could ask for, including amazing staff, a fantastic restaurant, and it’s a beautiful hotel with a historical type of Moroccan architecture. I’m going back to Morocco as soon as I can. This was my first time there and I had only six days. I didn’t know how interesting and beautiful Morocco would be. There is much more I’d like to see and I’ll definitely work closely with DesertTrips on all future visits. All in all, a really enjoyable and relaxing trip out with a great guide. Would definitely recommend if you’re after a fun and well-organised trip with a personal touch.

5.00My trip to Morocco with DesertTrips was an unforgettable experience. We were able to discover magical places full of history, enjoying every moment in a very well organized Mood. The attention and support of driver and guide Moha made everything easier and more comfortable, allowing us to focus on enjoying the beauty of the country. Activities, hotels, guides and dining areas have been worth it. It was certainly an adventure to remember. I recommend this experience to those who seek to explore Morocco in a different and well prepared way.

5.00We were very nervous about traveling during August, but Med, Khalil in particular, held our hands to be prepared for our trip. Khalil was very responsive to our many questions and kept us informed along the way. We spoke on WhatsApp as well as emailed. We felt very prepared! It is impossible to find anything negative about this trip, because everything was so great! locations of the hotels were great, all the views were great, the beaches, the food, as well as our driver & guide, Said! Said was outstanding; pleasant and knowledgeable of the cities we visited, and an excellent driver. He was always on time and available, helpful, and willing to help us with any questions. When visiting other cities and sites, he always introduced us to our local guides and was waiting for us on completion. By the way, Morocco is a wonderful country with very proud people who want to share what they have with the world. So, without getting too detailed here, suffice it to say the trip was excellent. I could not recommend them more highly!!

5.00Everything perfect!! The organization was impeccable from the first contact, always punctual, quick and generous in my thousand requests for clarifications. Our driver Yidir welcomed us and told millennia of history with passion, kindness and professionalism. Fantastic trip for the many things to see, well managed, adequate services. The hotels was very nice and clean, with that offered tasty dishes and a great variety of desserts. Even the Nesma riad in Marrakech surprised us in a positive way: elegant, with swimming pool and good food. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the wonders of Morocco in a safe, comfortable and fascinating way. Thank you Med, Khalil, Yidir, we will definitely come back to travel with you!

5.00When considering guided tours of Morocco, our group wanted an experience that would allow us to have an authentic look at the local cultures, educate us on the history of major cities/peoples, and provide a view of the iconic landscapes. In our opinion, DesertTrips was able to meet all of those wants and we had a great time. Our primary guide and driver, Mustapha, was a highlight of the entire experience. He was with us across the entire 6 days and did his best to entertain us for the longer drives across the country. He had a good sense of humor, was able to answer a majority of our questions, and was reliable when it came to making sure that we had everything we needed to be more comfortable. He went out of his way to give us a more personal tour and offered additional perspective into both nomadic and overall Berber culture. It speaks for itself that whenever we weren't driving to the next location, we were missing his commentary. Anyone willing to hand over the aux cord to us for 7+ hours has the right temperament to be a guide, and we're grateful to Mustapha for his professionalism, patience, and dedication to showing us the best of Morocco--he's an asset and great representation of DesertTrips. Overall, we visited everywhere that we intended and ate the food that we expected. One of the best tagines we had was at a gas station on our way to the desert. Visiting Erg Chebbi and riding a camel at sunset was equally hilarious and unforgettable in terms of the views. Walking around Fes and getting the history of the city was educational and very grounded in the reality of the residents' daily lives. Finally, visiting the shops in Marrakech was exactly what we imagined and was a good way to end our 6 days together. If there are any helpful notes to leave for those considering this tour it would be the following: - While visiting the desert, it's implicitly expected that you'll tip the men guiding the camels since it's their main form of income. It would be good to have spare cash with that in mind. - A few of the guides will reiterate this to you, but you should be careful about consuming unfiltered water/eating specific foods. It's just a matter of your stomach not being used to it depending on your country of origin. - Continuing with the food, the menu could possibly feel repetitive. That's due to the tourist-oriented restaurants you're visiting. We'd recommend taking the opportunities to visit more unique places when you have free time (keeping in mind the previous point). - This isn't exactly a "relaxing" tour, but that's not a bad thing. You're going to learn and see a good amount of the country and beautiful landscapes that we personally don't get to see where we live. - Bring shoes you're willing to ditch at the end. - Come with playlists for your driver! This was a great experience and we would recommend it to others looking to learn more about Morocco. We will miss you, Mustapha!

5.00I'm sold on the benefits of traveling in this way now. They took care of all of the little details, which made it so much easier and more enjoyable for us. The hotels were the nicest of any tour I have taken, and were convenient to shopping, dining, and nightlife. Even more so, we learned so much about Morocco and have a much greater appreciation for the country. We had an absolutely fantastic driver who made the trip so memorable- Mustapha was knowledgeable and informative, and most importantly, entertaining. I would definitely recommend Desert Trips to family and friends and anyone wanting a great travel experience!

5.00This is the best company, and very reasonable prices too. We communicated via WhatsApp to arrange (and change) the itinerary as i wanted. I chose and booked hotels myself. My friend's flight was late, and they took me from Casablanca to Rabat so I could do the Rabat city tour on my own, and then we drove back to CMN to pick up my friends. Driver was very polite and we felt very safe and looked after the whole trip. Only note that the camel ride and desert tent is done by another company. So all luggage is moved to a pick up truck to get to the tents. That was a bit disconcerting, but all was safe. All together the whole trip was fantastic.
This was my first trip with Deserttrips but hopefully not our last

5.00I booked a 6 day trip through Morocco with Deserttrips and thoroughly enjoyed it - right from the very start of researching options, through to flying home, Med was incredibly friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to understand my situation so he can tailor my trip down to the most minute detail. My driver, Moha, who travelled with me throughout the trip, was informative, thoughtful, personable and very enthusiastic about telling me about his country. This guy has the patience of a saint and was extremely helpful. I want to conclude by saying how impressed I’ve been with the deserttrips team during the past few months. Initially, I worked with Med to organize this trip. He was eager to answer my various questions. As I’ve already indicated, Moha was an outstanding leader during my actual trip. Then, upon my return home, I was pleasantly surprised that Khalil, yet another wonderful Deserttrips team, reached out to me to solicit my honest feedback about my trip. In my opinion, this kind of customer service and close personal attention from start to finish is the sign of a very high-quality organization and helps to differentiate Deserttrips from many other travel organizations. 5.00We're mid-aged and looking for smaller tour sizes while staying within a moderate budget. We're seasoned travelers who usually coordinate trips ourselves. I’m glad I left the planning to Deserttrips for this trip. Hassan was an excellent guide & driver. He stopped at all the cool places along the way. The tour had a wonderful balance of nature, history, and food. The kids want to do it again! I highly recommend this tour!!!

Normally we always arrange everything ourselves when we travel, but for these six days Morocco we have booked through Deserttrips. We are very satisfied! Nothing but compliments for their kindness when asking and good price and everything was arranged quickly. For the first time we have booked through this team and is definitely worth repeating.
