7,742 ft to 9,498 ft, 4 miles, approx. 3-4 hours From Arusha, set out in vehicles for the long drive to the starting point of the Lemosho Trail, the Londorossi Gate. Approaching the mountain from the west, the Lemosho Route starts in the Afromontane Rainforest, which is the first of four ecological zones you encounter on Kilimanjaro. Here you meet the rest of your crew and set off at a leisurely pace while keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. Lunch is taken on the trail and camp is reached mid-afternoon. 9,498 ft to 11,500 ft, 5 miles, approx. 5-6 hours From the forested slopes of Lemosho, you ascend through a podocarpus and juniper forest and then break out onto a zone of heather and lichen-draped volcanic rock and the Shira Plateau, which used to be Kilimanjaro’s third peak before it collapsed. Lunch is taken on the trail and you arrive in camp mid-afternoon. The view of Kibo (the peak of Kilimanjaro) is breathtaking from this vantage point. Overnight at Moir Hut. 13,800 ft to 15,223 ft (Lava Tower), down to 13,044 ft, 7km, 4-6 hours From Moir, you traverse the slopes of Kibo. Here relatively little flora or fauna can survive the extreme temperature ranges and conditions that typify this zone. Lunch is normally taken close to a volcanic rock formation known as the Lava Tower. If you feel very strong there is an optional ascent of the 300-foot-tall Lava Tower before descending down to Barranco camp in the afternoon, passing through the strange yet beautiful ‘Garden of the Senecios’ (giant groundsel) which also features many giant lobelias. 13,044 ft to 13,123 ft, 3 miles, 4-5 hours You now have a relatively short day to reach Karanga Camp, after conquering the intimidating Barranco Wall. Be prepared to use all four limbs as you traverse the wall to the top of the Karanga Valley. From here, follow a path that sojourns through many inclines and declines to Karanga Camp, arriving in the late afternoon. Our selection of Karanga Camp is strategic – significant time at altitude is essential for safe acclimatization. Sunsets here are particularly spectacular with views of the southern glacial valleys and ice fields towering over 3000 feet above you. Overnight at Karanga Camp. Once again lunch is taken in this high camp, allowing plenty of time to relax before the summit bid. Desolate alpine desert and, at times, strong winds rip over this camp, yet in the evenings splendid views of Mawenzi Peak are the norm. 12,467 ft to 5,380 ft, 6 miles, 3-4 hours Depart just before midnight for the final summit bid. Patience and persistence are the name of the game to reach the summit, and this is the coldest, windiest section of your adventure. Most likely by dawn, as the first rays of light start to appear across the Tanzanian landscape, you arrive near the rim at Stella Point, at an altitude of 18,652ft. Here, you are rewarded with the most glorious sunrise you are ever likely to see, appearing over Mawenzi Peak. Ascending via Stella Point affords a relatively short final section to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa! Take as many pictures as you can! After a short celebration at the summit, begin the ebullient trek down. Go slowly and enjoy the wonderful rainforest scenery as you head towards Mweka Camp, arriving before dusk. Our guide Emanuel and the entire team were amazing—professional, caring, and incredibly kind. The meals were excellent, the tents very comfortable, and the overall support truly exceptional. Memories for a lifetime — we highly recommend them!

5.00Amazing experience organised by William at Spirit Kilimandjaro. Initally Spirit was recommended by a friend who did the same. With this kind of local agency you get the best price and the quality of service actually exceeded my expectations. Our head guide was Emmanuel, supported by Paul and "Rasta", and a large support team including kitchen and porters. Everything went very well, the level of guidance and confidence brought by Emmanual given his long experience really made it easy. The food was super good at every meal (kudos to the chef), tents well organised and clean, and the whole support team doing anything they could to make us feel confortable from sun rise to sun set. We were a group of six and everyone made it to the top, led by the three guides and one porter - the energy they communicated during the challenging ascent was amazing ! Everyone would succeed with these guys... We felt lucky to have such a great team and once the trip-end celebrations were completed, we felt very sad to leave them...I can only recommend ! Big thank you to Emmanuel, William, the whole support team on Kili and the rest of the Spirit company !

5.00An experience of a lifetime due to the beautiful mountain and wonderful Spirit of Kilimanjaro team. Our guides, Joseph and Mufame were there for our every need keeping us informed of daily plans and nighttime briefing regarding the following day. They educated us regarding the mountain and different zones each day. Simon was a welcome voice each morning to awake us and provide us with a hot drink to start the day. The food was delicious and perfect for the trek and the cook shared his recipes about the wonderful stews/soups he prepared. The porters were friendly and amazing. This team was no doubt a key factor in our reaching Uhuru Peak.

Me and my friend luckily have reached the summit but it could not be achieved without the support from the team, especially shout out to our guide Rama, taking care of us since day 1, helping us with wearing the gaiter, providing warm linen for sleeping bag, lending us his power bank etc., he makes our trip to the top much more pleasant and manageable. Also thanks Mfaume for his humorous way of bringing good vibes to the trip, and professional explanation of the nature. One team, one dream, these guys here will ensure you are safe but reach the summit at the same time.

5.00This was truly one of the most incredible experiences. The team at Spirit of Kilimanjaro took care of everything from airport pickup to truly our every need on the trek. Our guides, Joseph and Mfaume, were amazing! They took such good care of us and were so knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions from what gear we needed to wear each day to what floral and fauna we saw along the trail. When my mom lost her gloves one of our guides even gave her his pair to use for the rest of the hike. They really went above and beyond. We went with a group of three and every member of our group made it to the summit! My biggest piece of advice is to listen to your guides. Bring/rent whatever gear they recommend and follow their instructions! The experience was so incredible and one that I will never forget!

5.00We booked a tour with my family to climb the Kilimanjaro. I was chatting since then beginning with William and everything was so simple to planned. Then we arrived in Tanzania and a driver was waiting for us to bring us at the hotel. We had a briefing with William and Sanke (our principal guide) to explain to us the week going, check our bags if we missed something and help us to rent some stuff. Then we been pick up from the hotel to drive to the beginning of the hike and the adventure started. We had Sanke and Iman as a guide, 2 lovely and passionate people ready to help us at anytime. We discovered our camp. Everything was so well managed and organized. We were 4 to walk as a guest and they were 14 in the team. Everybody was so lovely and so welcoming and ready to help at any time. We felt at home straight away. The food from Hussein was amazing. We ate some local food everyday and it was such a pleasure. Day after day we started to create a very strong relation with everybody in the team. It was a happiness to find them after a long and hard walking day. They shared their culture and their personality to us and making this trip something different. We reach the summit and it’s also with all the support of the team that was possible. They gave us so much strength. A big thanks you to Sanke to make us reach the summit. Mention to Iman who took care of my dad who was not able to go at the top. We shared a last moments with some songs and dances to finish this trip with a beautiful way. I will never forgot this journey and it was such a pleasure to share it with those guys. As you understood, it’s not only a hike, it’s a human adventure to create you the best memories as possible. Thanks to all the guys in the shadow who nothing will be possible without them. Thanks to William, Sanke, Iman, Hussein, Hamis, Rafael, Edward, Efrain, Mustapha, Abdullah, Rashid, Daudi, Robert, Abdallah and Rababub. Jambo Jambo, Kilimanjaro, Hakuna Matata.

5.00What an experience. Ramo was an excellent tour guide, the whole team and also my fellow travellers made this trip an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Not gonna lie, it was really really tough, but the guides were so encouraging and lovely and supportive, only thanks to them I made it to the top! Thanks again for all your help, I am so so grateful!
