Bucharest
We meet you at the Airport in Bucharest and take you to your Hotel. We’ll choose for this year a smaller hotel, not so crowded. Or, if you are ok with this, we can choose for you an apartment only for you and your group, in a centrally located area. After you accommodate, we’ll have a walking tour in Bucharest for 3-4 hours to mark the main sites of the Capital. You learn about Bucharest and Romania’s history. A special part of the walking tour in Bucharest will be related on the communist past of Romania and how it affected our country and city. So, you’ll enjoy a communist tour of Bucharest as well. We’ll recommend you good places to enjoy dinner in the evening.
Sibiu
Visit Sibiu Medieval Town We drive on Olt River Valley and you’ll enjoy beautiful views on the way to Sibiu. Once we reach Sibiu, we take the accommodation, a local small Pension or a nice apartment in the heart of the Old City. We’ll enjoy a nice relaxed walking tour in Sibiu admiring the main sites from the old town of Sibiu: Large Square and Small Square, beautiful churches of the city, Liars Bridge

His deep knowledge of Romania’s history brought every place to life, and he shared fascinating stories that made the experience both educational and engaging. What we appreciated most was his flexibility — the tour hours were very accommodating, giving us plenty of free and easy time to explore on our own without feeling rushed. He’s professional, friendly, patient, and genuinely passionate about what he does, always happy to answer questions and tailor the experience to our interests. 5.00Our seven-day Transylvania private tour exceeded all expectations. George was incredibly knowledgeable about local history and hidden villages, bringing every stop—Sighisoara, Sibiu, Brasov, and the visits to Corvin, Bran, and Peles Castles—to life. The logistics were seamless, the vehicle was comfortable, and his English explanations were excellent. All of our hotels were in prime locations. We would absolutely book again.

We loved Romania, and the Transylvania region. If you are thinking of booking with George, you will not regret it!

5.00It's important to understand that George is both the owner and sole employee of his company, TouringRomania. So there's no doubt that your guide to the country will be a lively, knowledgable, thoughtful, effective companion. George is a fantastic multitasker, who can drive safely and carefully while narrating complex historical and cultural terrain. He's great at tailoring a tour of whatever length to one's particular interests. He's flexible and talented at ferreting out great places to stay, dine, visit, and shop. He knows how to pace things just right, and he's friendly without being intrusive. We learned more about Romania than we've ever learned about any other country from any other guide (and we've been to over 40 countries). If I wasn't 86, with a lot of other places to go, I'd go back to Romania and George in a heartbeat, to see the beautiful regions of this fascinating country that we had to forego. Catch him if you can!

5.00This should be the easiest review to write since the tour was simply spectacular. But I use reviews myself to choose companies so I want to give you as much helpful info as possible. So I’ll start at the beginning. We traveled with another couple. My husband and I have traveled to 140+ countries (yes even North Korea) so we know what to expect from a great tour and guide. George met us when the flight landed and took us to the car with our luggage (massive as we were all gone for 7 weeks in different climates) and many folks don’t think about how important the can is. His van is new. Comfortable. Seat belts work. But the best part is that there are many vents for the back air conditioner and we got to control it totally. If you’ve ever been a can without that you know how beneficial that is. The hotel he chose for us was simply perfect. Our flight was late so we didn’t stay long that first night in Bucharest The location. Was right in old town and it was fun to walk around a bit at night. He had requested a room on the side without the loud party music. He thought of everything. Driving with George is wonderful. First a great safe driver. But his knowledge and personality simply can’t be matched. He was such fun to be around from day one. I won’t go Through every hotel and lunch and tour but each day was a fun day of touring and experiencing Romania. The trip to Viscri was really a bonus as well. Small Saxon village but the accommodations were wonderful, the food incredible. He included lunch many times in the tour price. Some were homemade family style lunches and others were restaurants. we were always encouraged to get what we wanted. We learned so much about Romania’s history and met some wonderful people. Touring Romania is the best company and George the best guide. Reschedule your trip if you must. (I’m sure there are other great guides and I’m sure he can refer you to them. But if possible I would hold out for George) This trip was a highlight for our travels over the years.

5.00We were fortunate to spend a week touring Transylvania with George. We had booked a trip with him pre-covid and when we had to cancel, he refunded the money that we had paid. Fortunately we were able to book again and this time, to travel with him. He is an excellent guide. He is so knowledgeable about all subjects and is more than happy to share all of this. His driving is very good and he keeps his van in immaculate condition. We loved the way he was so flexible and accommodating of our needs. We shared some tasty and authentic meals together and chatted as if we were old friends. If you are looking for a private tour in Romania with a person who understands your requirements, speaks excellent English and is fun to be with, I would not hesitate to recommend him.

5.00I have never gone on a guided tour before and this tour was great. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We got to see places in Romania that changed my opinion of the country from my first impression. I could not think of a better way to see Romania. The tour can be tweaked if you find something that you wanted to ad or remove. Lots of beautiful country roads, mountains and forests. If anyone has issues with car sickness bring medication but all in all a great trip.. If anyone has issues with car sickness bring medication but all in all a great trip.

5.00I visited Romania with my family a while back, and we had the most amazing time visiting medieval cities in Transylvania with George. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in the history of Romania and Transylvania specifically. Particular highlights of the trip include the Christmas market in Sibiu and the traditional lunch in a village in Transylvania. George is an incredible guide and such a fun character to have along for the journey.

5.00We booked George for a private tour for our family. George was amazing. Very knowledgeable, efficient and flexible. He covered popular and must-see places but also recommended and customised the itinerary to include other less touristy sites to ensure that we were able to maximise our trip. He was professional and was a great guide and driver. Every day was planned to the detail and at each location, he provided clear and concise explanations of the sites. The accommodations had great locations and were within walking distance so there were things to do even after dinner. Touring with George was an unforgettable experience and truly memorable. We enjoyed the trip very much and highly recommend George to anyone planning a trip to Romania!
