  We contacted Spirit of Kilimanjaro on recommendation of a friend who used them previously. Our expert guide Rama coached us through the first four days of the Machame Route. Supported by David our second guide, he shared his knowledge of the spectacular scenery, flora and fauna of this unique place. Our cook Nicholas, and waiter Makame made every effort to make the challenging ascent as comfortable as possible, with warm meals and smiles, and so many small details. Our crew was 10 in total. At the end of day 4 at 4000m elevation, the unexpected happened and that’s when we saw Rama’s professionalism, dedication and kindness. As night fell, my wife suddenly showed symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness which quickly deteriorated. Rama recognised the symptoms and told us it was time to take “mama” home. The rescue helicopter was unavailable after nightfall, so the only option was to urgently carry her to a lower camp. While administering oxygen, Rama and two of our porters, Abedi and Godlisten took turns carrying my wife on their backs. First to another camp where a doctor was present, and probable cerebral oedema was diagnosed. Then to a much lower camp at the safer level of elevation 3100m. It was a superhuman effort of strength and skill to descend for almost five hours during night time on steep mountain tracks. My wife made a full recovery after 48 hours. Spirit of Kilimanjaro take safety very seriously. They will coach you to make it to the summit, which is a huge physical and mental challenge. But when the unexpected happens, your welfare will truly be top priority. Rama is an exceptional guide and an exceptional human being. Without his quick decisions, team management and physical strength, the outcome could have been very different. I am extremely grateful for that.

  Rama my guide for the Macrame route 7 days was a perfect guide! Really professional, with a good sense of humour! As I was alone, he invited me to come eat in the team tent, it was so amazing to share moments like this! During all the trip he was here for any questions !   The greatest adventure of our lives. We decided to climb Kilimanjaro in December 2024. We came across William by chance in the course of our research. It's fair to say that things happen by chance. The company he founded ten years ago seemed to be more of a family business than most. On a human scale. Our instincts were right. We've just returned and our heads are still above the clouds with the Spirit of Kilimanjaro team. Thanks to the guides, Emanuel and Joseph, we experienced a human adventure that went beyond this fabulous trek. I'm not going to describe the grandiose landscapes and the physical challenge. I'd like to take this opportunity to recommend this company, which works with extraordinary professionals who love and know the mountains. We reached the summit but without the Spirit of Kilimanjaro team we would never have got there. They did everything they could to make our dream come true. They pushed us by being both competent mountain guides and great comrades with whom we had a great time. All the promises were kept and even exceeded. At an altitude of 5700 m, Emanuel and Joseph both gave me a hand to help me walk when I couldn't go any further. They didn't have to do it, but they didn't let go. I'll never forget their gesture. A gesture that fits perfectly with the company's slogan: ‘One team, one dream’. The porters, the cook and, of course, the guides are all on the same wavelength.   I recently completed a 7-day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro via the Machame Route, and it was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life. From start to finish, the entire journey was organized, and I felt supported every step of the way by my guide Emanuele and the incredible team of porters and cook. Thank you Team

  beautiful experience with the spirit of kilimanjaro team. the whole team was very professional. The food was very delicious, like in a 5 star hotel. The guides Emanuel and Joseph are friendly people and it was great fun.I recommend this agency and we will definitely come back again. thanks for everything
