A guide holding a sign will meet you at the airport and will take you to a hotel. You'll have an opportunity to get to know him and discuss an upcoming trip during the drive. After checking into the hotel and having some rest, we'll have dinner at the Kazakh cuisine restaurant and take you back to your hotel located in the city's center.

After a 9.00 a.m. breakfast at the hotel, a guide will meet you in the hotel lobby. We'll get acquainted with Almaty city and its vicinities on the first day.
Big Almaty Lake
The first sight will be Big Almaty Lake, where we will make a 1-hour stop and go for a walk.
Almaty
The next place of our visit will be "Medeu" high-mountain skating rink and "Shymbulak" ski resort. We will go up to an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level towards glaciers of Talgar pass. At 2:00 p.m., we will have lunch at the national cuisine restaurant. Once in the city, we will visit Zenkov Cathedral, Park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, City's Central Square, Central Mosque and will eat some Kazakh delicacies at the Green Bazaar and have a walk on the city's art site "Arbat".
Park Kok Tobe
We will watch the sunset on the observation deck of Kok-Tobe Mountain. A great end of the day will be marked by a dinner at a hotel, after which, a guide will take you to your hotel.

After an 8:00 a.m. breakfast at the hotel, we are going out on adventures. Today we'll start getting acquainted with natural sights of Almaty region.
Altyn-Emel National Park
Altyn-Emel National Park will be the first destination. We'll check into the hotel at 12:00 p.m. in Basshi village and have lunch.
Aktau Mountains
We'll spend the rest of the day in wildlife. We'll go hiking in the Ak-Tau mountains
Katutau Mountain
will take incredible photos in the Katu-Tau mountains, and will drink some spring water in the middle of a desert. This exciting day will be ended with a dinner and tasting of Kazakh cheese Kurt at the hotel.
Basshy Village / Singing Dune / Zharkent / Hot Springs

Altyn-Emel National Park
After having a hearty breakfast, we'll climb the Signing Barkhan, take a walk in the Tiger Mountains, and drive to Zharkent city. We'll visit a Chinese style wooden mosque in Zharkent and bargain a little at a noisy city bazaar.
Zharkent
At 2:00 p.m., we will have the tastiest lagman in Kazakhstan, will go to the Chundzha hot springs and will stay in a comfortable hotel. Swimming pools are open 24 hours a day and are open-air.
Shonzhy
At 7:00 p.m., we will have a main national Kazakh dish "Beshbarmak".
Hot Springs / Bestomak, Temerlik, Moon Canyons / Saty village

Canyon Temirlik
Today we are going to a country of canyons of Charyn National Park. At 08:30 a.m., we are having breakfast and are packing up. We are dropping in on Chundzha city to pick up lunchboxes from the restaurant to have a meal later on the bank of the raging Charyn River. We will be driving off road all day long and getting acquainted with canyons, all looking different.
Charyn Canyon National Park
We will go down into the Bestamak Canyon and have lunch there. We'll visit several canyon panoramic view sites, which will make you dizzy.
Saty
We are going spend this night in a guest house in Saty village. The hostess will cook a Kazakh dinner and local children will perform a nation dance show. At 7:00 p.m.- putting up at the guest house and having dinner.

Lower Kolsai Lake
We'll have breakfast at 7:00 a.m., pack up our camping stuff and go to the Kolsay Lakes parking area. Today we are going hiking 16 km from the first Kolsay lake to a second one. One-way walking trip will take around 4 hours (you may cover this distance riding a horse).
Upper Kolsai Lake
At 2:00 p.m., we will have lunch from lunchboxes taken from the guest house, and a guide will make us some tea. We are coming back to the parking area after lunch and are going to Saty village, where a steam bath will be prepared for us.
Saty
We will try Kumys (mare's milk beverage) today during a dinner at 7:00 p.m.
Saty village / Kaindy Lake / Charyn Canyon / Almaty

We are having breakfast in the guest house and are visiting Kaindy Lake, where we'll spend two hours and will visit three locations to get a better picture of the lake. At 1:00 p.m., we are having lunch in Saty village and are coming back to Almaty.
Charyn Canyon
On the way to Almaty we will get acquainted with the most popular Kazakhstani sight - the "Valley of Castles" canyon of Charyn National Park.
Almaty
After having dinner at a kebab restaurant, we will come back to the hotel in Almaty around 9:00 p.m and transfer to the Airport.

2.00We are a couple who have travelled to more than 40 countries and have taken help of a local tour company in 5 so we have some idea on what to expect in what kind of budget. This is our personal experience and might not be applicable to every type of traveler. * Food We felt the food options were not upto the mark. In Basshy we didn't have vegetarian option for the first day lunch and my wife only had to eat boiled potatoes inspite of mentioning it much in advance. In Saty, the options were less and limited. We had to eat the same dinner on both the days. Breakfast didn't have anything other than porridge and bread. Overall rating 2/5 * Accommodation Basshy accomodation was awful. The room was stuffy, smelly, hot and filled with mosquitoes. It couldn't have been worse for us, we couldn't sleep half the night. Saty acco was better in all regards from Basshy but still pretty average. Overall rating 3/5 * Guide Although our guide tried his best but we found many things lacking. To start with - a) He was always with us even after reaching the location. Since we are a couple we would have appreciated space in exploring things ourselves especially after reaching the exact spot. He used to walk side by side of us all the time and it felt rude in letting him know about it. b) After complaining to him immediately about our accomodation in Basshy, he didn't do anything. He could have atleast talked to the owner and provided us with a table fan but he didn't. We saw other guides making a lot of effort on that regard. It was honestly very disappointing. c) He cared more about his food needs rather than us. Even when my wife didn't have anything to eat in Basshy he didn't make an effort to make sure she was served 'something' I believe he was trying his best but in our opinion he was not a proper 'guide' and was doing this job only as a part time. It was utterly disappointing for us. Overall rating 2/5 * Trip itinerary We believe trip planning could have been done in a much better fashion. We could have covered Issyk lake while going from Almaty towards Charyn. Also stay in Saty could have been extended by 1 day so that we could have hiked in Kolsai lakes. Overall we didn't feel like much customisation was available in real time for us inspite of charging a lot of money. Overall rating 3/5 The country is beautiful and we loved the drive and natural beauty it offered. That made up for a lot of issues we faced during the trip. We are not a high maintenance people and have backpacked in minimal budget across many countries hence the issues we faced shouldn't be waived off randomly. We are also not typical tourists who would just go to a place for pictures but for the overall experience. Overall trip rating for us 2/5 Although we would tell everyone we know to go to Kazakhstan and esp Almaty region but we would unfortunately be asking them to look for a tour company other than SUV tours. Maybe it was just us who felt this way but we think it is our right that we tell our story.

5.00Kazakhstan is a hidden gem that one should not miss, and SUVtours showed us the incredible landscapes of the region. Ramil was amazing as a guide, took care of us very well, and arranged vegetarian meals for us throughout the stay. While the accommodations may be basic at times, we got a sense of true Kazakh hospitality, and we are grateful to Ramil for this. Thanks to Dana as well, who arranged our trip and answered all our many questions. Do not look further than SUVTours if you want to explore what south Kazakhstan has to offer.

5.00Our tour guide Ramil was amazing, we got great hotels and food. The tour guide had a lot of information to give and knew all the best places to visit... we saw Kazakhstan in its best... None of us were hikers but Ramil, our tour guide made the 18kms trek so interesting and safe for us.. I would certainly recommend SUV tours, not only for the quality they deliver but they are a trust worthy tour company. Thankyou SUV Tours for making our trip a memorable one 💖
